Girlfriend

Tiffany requested that we should have a dinner in this fancy restaurant. We even changed our clothes to its appropriate dress code.

Tiffany knew the place well, maybe she was a regular here.

The restaurant was located near the shopping mall and it was just 15 minutes away from our home. I saw the menu and it offered a large number of courses. The pricing was moderately rational than the other restaurants I knew here in the city.

The setting of the restaurant was relaxing and I was pleased just entering the place. The interior decoration, the tables and chairs were beautifully arranged. It belongs to the top class. Best for dates and family gathering.

Tiffany ordered the special dinner menu which was the four course meal including a soup, an appetizer, the main course and dessert.

We were eating the main course when Tiffany asked "What do you think Taetae? This is my favorite place. How is it?" She excitedly said as she put a sliced meat in her mouth using fork and chewed it.

I smiled "It's really beautiful here Fany and the food is superb," I gave her a thumbs up.

She beamed widely with those beautiful eyesmile "I knew you would like it here." She giggled.

While we were eating someone approached me "Taeyeon?"

I turned to the lady and my eyes went round. I never thought that I would see her again. "J-Juniel?"

Juniel smiled happily "Long time no see," she glanced at Tiffany then her smile dropped.

Choi Juniel, she's my ex-girlfriend. She was my very first girlfriend and I really loved her back then.

But unfortunately, our relationship didn't last long because she left me to study abroad and there were some problems that we couldn't handle so we broke up.

I could say that I already moved on from her, seeing her doesn't make my heart beats faster anymore. There were no more pain and heavy heart as well.

"Hi, how are you?" I asked casually.

"I'm doing good, just got back from abroad and I will be managing our company in few days. How bout you?" Juniel asked amused. The way she looked at me didn't change but I wouldn't assume anything. Besides, I don't love her anymore. I'm certain with that. No hard feelings.

"I'm studying my master's degree in Arts and I like teaching in college," I answered.

"Wow, that's great. I know you can do that. I believe in you," she smiled at me then she glanced at Tiffany.

Tiffany was holding her fork with her whole hand as she took a big bite of her steak.

I smiled widely, she was so cute. Tiffany smiled at me while chewing her food.

"Hi, I'm Juniel. Taeyeon's ex-girlfriend," Juniel confidently introduced herself. Why would she say that?

Well, it's true and we're not friends so it's kinda acceptable.

Tiffany looked at Juniel and innocently chewed her food then she glanced at me. Suddenly, she hung her head and her eyes closed.

"Fany, are you alright?" I asked worried.

After few seconds, she looked up at me with her serious stare. She chewed her food exquisitely then swallowed it. She took a napkin then gingerly tapped her lips.

I think, I know what's happening. She changed. It's Miyoung. I told myself.

Tiffany glared at Juniel "Really? Ex-girlfriend huh?"

"Yes, she was my girlfriend and we're not even friends." Juniel replied as she glanced at me.

"Okay, I see... past and present." Tiffany simply said as she inspected her fingernails.

"Huh?" Juniel asked.

"You're her past and I'm her present. I'm Taeyeon's girlfriend, just call me Miyoung," Tiffany smirked as she offer a hand to Juniel.

Juniel frowned as she slowly accepted and shook their hands.

"Juniel why are you still there?" I heard a familiar woman's voice and I stiffened.

The woman approached our table then I confirmed, it was Juniel's mother. I swallowed hardly and became agitated.

"Excuse me," Juniel snatched her hand back then left us with her mother.

"What happened to her?" Mrs. Choi asked then she saw me. "Taeyeon?" She raised an eyebrow to me. "What are you doing in this kind of place? You can't afford eating here." She said as she folded her arms.

One of the reasons why me and Juniel broke up was her mother. She never supported us because she didn't like me. She liked to insult and degrade me, she had this habit of belittling everything I do because I was poor and working class back then. I still am and I'm not ashamed of that. I don't care about the social class because for me, people are all equal in spite of their jobs.

"What did you say to Juniel? You know, she has nothing to do with you anymore. She doesn't love you so stop bothering her," Mrs. Choi sternly said. Apparently, she still doesn't like me.

"Excuse me ma'am but I'm not bothering her," I politely said.

Mrs. Choi laughed "I don't believe you. You want her back because of our money. You're just a gold digger lesbian that infected my daughter." She insulted as she glowered at me. Her words never failed to hurt me. It hurts when people judge you because of your status in life.

I silently took a deep breathe and control myself. I didn't want to be rude.

"If I see you again talking to Juniel, I will sue you!" She threatened as she pointed her index finger to me.

Tiffany slammed her hand on the table causing us to flinch. She glared at Mrs. Choi "Excuse me but you're ruining our dinner date," she said annoyed.

"How dare you talk to me like that young lady?" Mrs. Choi asked with an attitude. "You don't know me? We own one of the biggest shipping companies here in Korea, Choi Shipping Company," she bragged. She always does that.

Tiffany slowly stood up "Oh I know that company. I know them very well." She said as she forced a fake smile.

Mrs. Choi smirked "So you should know where to place yourself." She really thought that their family was exceptional, that they were high class and they could degrade other people because of that.

Tiffany smirked and crossed her arms over her chest cockily "Clearly you don't know me."

Mrs. Choi looked at Tiffany from head to toe then gave her meanest look "Should I know you?"

"Before I introduce myself, I assume that you know L. Hwang Corporation," Tiffany said in a matter of fact way.

"Y-yes, so what?"

"Because we're glad to help your company," Tiffany informed.

"What? What do you mean?" Mrs. Choi stuttered.

"We invested to your little company to help you grow," Tiffany said matching Mrs. Choi's attitude. "I'm Miyoung Hwang, the daughter of Leonard Hwang who's the founder and CEO of L. Hwang Corporation," she finally introduced herself.

Mrs. Choi's jaw dropped.

"My father is well-known as a kind-hearted man. He's genuinely humble and generous and he will not be happy to know how you treated my girlfriend. He will not tolerate that kind of act, you degraded my girlfriend in front of me," Tiffany said as she gnashed her teeth. Her voice was deep-toned. Clearly, she was mad.

"G-girlfriend?" Mrs. Choi asked still shocked.

Tiffany raised a brow "Yes, Taeyeon is my girlfriend so she has nothing to do with your daughter. She already moved on from her."

Mrs. Choi's expression softened and she was like a scared cat "I'm sorry." She turned to me and held my arm "I'm really sorry Taeyeon for what I said, I'm sorry. I didn't know that your girlfriend's family is one of the most influential and richest families here in the country. Please forgive me. I'm sorry."

My mouth fell open, I didn't expect her to apologize. It wasn't her nature.

"Taeyeon, please forgive me," she pleaded.

I gulped "It's o-okay Mrs. Choi."

"Thank you so much Taeyeon," Mrs. Choi gladly said and she glanced at Tiffany "Let me excuse myself now." She slightly bowed to Tiffany then hurriedly walked away from us.

Tiffany shook her head and sat back "I don't like that woman, she's very ignorant."

I smiled staring at her. She still remember few things, I mean yeah, she's still Tiffany Hwang. It's still her.

"Where's your smart mouth Tae? You protected Fany but you can't protect yourself?" She asked as her mouth set in a hard line.

"Because I can handle it and you didn't have to do that," I said softly.

"I have to, she's annoying and simple thank you will suffice," she said then she gulped her water few times.

"Thank you," I sincerely said.

Tiffany smiled as she placed her glass of water on the table "Let's protect each other then."

I smiled Protect each other. I like the idea of it, we will work on it.

Then I realized what she told to Mrs. Choi "But you told her that I'm your girlfriend."

"So? Is there a problem?"

"What if your father knew about it?" I asked worried. Mr. Hwang won't like it, maybe, I guess.

"So be it," she nonchalantly said as she held her knife and fork then began to slice the steak on her plate.

"Miyoung..."

She sighed "It's not a problem Taeyeon and I'm serious with what I said, you're my girlfriend now."

I froze then stared at her, stunned. My heart was pounding hard and I could hear it. I'm her girlfriend for real?

"Don't be shocked, we like each other so why would we wait? Now, I officially announce that we're together," Tiffany plainly explained.

"You're my girlfriend?" I asked skeptically.

"Yes, I am."

I couldn't help but to smile.

All of a sudden, all the pain faded away and it was filled with happiness. This powerful feelings inside me were something new and special, it 's wonderful and inevitable. I could feel this again but this time, it was something more than before.

"Obviously, that ex-girlfriend of yours still has feelings for you," she said as she looked at me intently. "I'm jealous of her." Her face saddened.

"You don't have to because I don't love her anymore," I assured her.

It's true, I realized that I don't have feelings for Juniel anymore.

The corners of her lips quirked up "Good. Let's enjoy our dinner date Tae," she sweetly said.

Miyoung is not really violent, she's also sweet and kind.  Maybe she's really different from Fany because she's matured and a tough nut to crack. She's also taking all the pain that's why Fany is her opposite.

I mean, Fany is always happy, energetic and I can see that she has no burdens while Miyoung is in pain and she has nightmares.

I also want Miyoung to be happy and I will do my best to make her happy.

Because Tiffany deserves that, all of parts of her. All of her deserves to be happy.
