Quinn POV

It took a little convincing, but finally the man agreed to take Bella and I to the local Walmart for some groceries. Bella watched in surprise as a child had a melt down when their mother told them they couldn't have the cereal they wanted. "I want it! I want it! I want it!" The child screamed and the mother frowned.

"That is enough. I said no and if you continue to throw a temper tantrum all your going to receive is a red behind." The mother replied giving the small child a smack on the behind as a warning.

Bella looked over at me in confusion. "Why the mommy not gibe them what they wanted?"

"Why don't you ask her?" I replied with a smile. Already knowing the mother's answer. Bella shook her head no. But I encouraged her to talk to the lady. "Do you want me to go with you?" Bella nodded.

Taking Bella's hand we approached the lady and her son. Bella hid behind me and I sighed. "Bella didn't you have a question for the lady?" Bella shook her head no. "I'm sorry she's a bit shy. Come on Bella, ask the lady your question."

"Why you not give him what he wanted?"

"Ummm. I'm sorry, I'm a bit confused. What is her question?"

"My boyfriend's baby sister was wondering why you didn't get the cereal your son wanted."

"I do not reward bad behavior. Not only did he not ask politely, he threw a temper tantrum when I told him no. Therefore he received a spanking."

"But thats not wight. You supposed to gibe him what he wants. You is being dumb." Bella replied with a slight frown.

"Excuse me? Young lady, that's no way to talk to an adult." Then turning to Me she replied "you really should teach your child some manors."

"Sorry about that. She tends to copy my fiance. He's been teaching her some rather bad behaviors lately." I replied causing Bella to giggle.

"Sounds like you should put your boyfriend on a shorter leash."

"Silly lady, leashes go on a doggies. Jewome not a doggie."

"Mind your own business kid, the adults are talking. Children should be seen and not heard." Bella stuck her tongue out at the lady and I shook my head and sighed. "I suggest that you put that back in your mouth before someone cuts it out."

At this, Bella let's out a whimper and buries her head into my chest. "I'd appreciate it if you kept thoughts like that to yourself ma'am."

"Suit yourself. Children like her don't belong in society, they belonged locked away."

At this, Bella starts to cry and I clench my fist and fought the urge to deck the lady.

"Come Bella, we shouldnt take up anymore of this rude lady's time. We have other stores to go too." I reply and Bella giggles.

"Otay. Bye bye mean lady." Bella says with a smile and slight giggle as we round the corner.

"Bella, why did you say bye bye to the lady?" I asked in concern.

"Cause mean lady is gonna go bye bye." She replies with a smile and the color drains from my face.

"Oh No. Tell me they didn't." I whisper in shock and Bella shrugs. "Alright, I thinks it's time we were headed home."

"Winn?"

"Yes Bella?"

"Toy?" Bella asked pointing towards the toy isle .

"Do you deserve to get a toy?"

"No." Bella replies looking down at the floor in shame.

"Why not?"

"Cause me was wude to the lady?" Bella replied.

I sighed "that lady was a bad example of how to behave towards others."

"So Me can get a toy?" Bella asks her eyes lighting up in excitement.

"That depends. What do we say when we want something?"

"Jewome said we don't ask, we demand."

"Forget about what he said for a moment, how would you choose to go about getting a toy?"

"Me ask politely?"

"Why don't you try that?"

"Winn, can me please get a toy?"

"One."

I watched as Bella looked through the toys until it came down to about twenty. A stuffed wolf, a snow white owl, a white barn owl, a bald eagle, a bat, a tiger, a lion, a type of Rey, an octopus, a crocodile/alligator, a shark, a unicorn, a dragon, a Dumbo, a tigger, a gorilla, a realistic snake, and a doll who's face changed into a clown and its hair changed color, a teddy bear that smelled like strawberries, a werewolf, a multicolored pink and purple bat that could pass as build a bear. She also had a few care bears that glowed in the dark, and several coloring books. As soon as she approached Bella's eyes filled with tears.

"What's the matter Bella?"

"Me can't choose." She replied with a whimper.

"I know it's hard, but we can only afford to get one today." At this, Bella began to cry.

Bella pouted and plopped  down onto the floor with her arms crossed across her chest. I sighed. I knew that this was her way of throwing a temper tantrum. "Is everything alright?" One of the employees asked and I sighed.

"It's her first time at the store and she can't decided which toy to get. I told her she's only allowed one and she's having trouble deciding."

"Well it just so happens that we are having a sale today. You pick out one toy and you get one for free." The employee replied with a smile.

"Thank you, but Bella needs to learn how to make a difficult decision. She can only get one. So which one will it be?"

"Me want them all!" Bella replied with a whine.

"I know you do, but you can't always get what you want."

"Why not?" Bella demanded with a pout.

"That's the way the world works. You can't always always have things your way."

"But that's not faiwe (fair). Me said please..." Bella replies with a pout.

"Life is not fair. And I agreed to let you have one toy. So either you decide which toy you really want, or we will leave the store and you won't get anything at all. Is that what you want?"

"No." Bella replied with a frown.

"Then choose and let's go."

"Me wanna get the gowilla and snake."

"Bella, I said one."

"But the man said it's buy one get one."

"Alright, but what do you say?" I asked raising and eyebrow at her.

"Please?" I nodded and she grabbed the largest gorilla that could be found.

"Ummm. Bella, I thought you said you wanted this one?" I asked pointing towards the smaller gorilla but she shook her head and hugged the gorilla tighter. Her lower lip beginning to tremble and tears filling her eyes. I sighed and then chuckled slightly. "Alright, you can get that one."

"Excuse me, may I see the stuffed gorilla ?"

"Mine!" Bella replied pulling the stuffed animal into a tighter embrace. Despite Bella's attempts to hold onto the toy, the store employee took it from her grasp. Causing Bella to let out a wail and reach for it. The employee however, chose to purposely hold it just out of Bella's reach.

"I'm afraid I can't let you purchase this toy. I don't know where you found it but it wasn't supposed to be on the shelves. She's welcome to any other toy she wants."

"Besides, I fail to understand why is she making such a fuss over a stupid stuffed gorilla. There are plenty of other toys on the shelves." The store employee replied and I shrugged.

"No make gowilla go bye bye. Gowilla not bad. Gowilla not bad." Bella whimpered tears filling her eyes. Then it dawned on me. I had recently read an article about a female gorilla who had to be put down after being involved with Jerome's twisted carnival.

It turned out to be the very same gorilla who had protected Bella from Lila when she was a baby. That's why she wanted the stuffed gorilla. She wanted a reminder of who she saw as her mama.

"Shhh Bella. Everything is going to be alright." I replied trying to calm her down but nothing was working. Then I remembered what Jerome had done to get Bella to go to sleep. He had given Bella a bottle and sang you'll be in my heart from Disney's Tarzan. "Are you getting sleepy Bella?"

Bella yawned big shook her head no and continued to sniffle. "Me want gowilla. Please. Please let me have it."

"I'm sorry, but I can't do that."

"But Me said Please." Bella replied with a frown.

"And I said no. Just because you say please doesn't mean that people are always going to give you what you want. This stuffed Gorilla is Not for sale."

At this, I growl. "Give her the gorilla."

"I can't do that."

I had tried to be patient with this man but my patience wore off when he continued to refuse to give Bella the stuffed gorilla even after she asked nicely. I sighed in frustration.

Looks like it was time to try things Jerome's way. "Look, she asked you nicely and I'm going to ask once more and then things are going to get ugly. Please scan the toy and give it too her."

"I'm afraid that's simply not possible."

Not wanting Bella see me loose my temper, I turned to her and smiled. "Bella you are being such a good girl and said please, and you didn't throw a temper tantrum when told no. Why don't you go grab two more toys that you wanted. While I have a chat with the nice cashier."

"Otay Winn." Bella replied skipping off in the direction of the toy isle.

Once Bella was out of sight, I grabbed the man by the shirt and pointed my gun at him. "I am trying to teach my boyfriend's baby sister the importance of manors."

"You had to go and refuse to give her the toy even after she said please. I asked politely and that didn't work so I'm forced to use more drastic measures."

"Either you scan the toy gorilla and give it back to her when she returns or I'll splatter your brains all over these nice clean walls. You have till the count of ten to decide. 1,2,10. Too late." I reply cocking my gun.

"No wait, please don't shoot. Take it. Take whatever you want free of charge but please don't kill me."

"I'm glad that we could come to an understanding. Let me get this straight, if I agree not to shoot you, then I can have whatever I want free of charge?" The man nodded. "Thank you. That's so sweet of you."

A few seconds later Bella, came back with the two toys that she wanted and I smiled at her. "Guess what, this nice man has decided to allow you to take home whatever you want from the toy section."

"Weally?"

"Yes." The man replied faking a smile.

With that, Bella ran back to the toy section only to come back a few seconds later with all of the toys and books that she had wanted earlier plus a few more.
