Bella continued POV

A few minutes later, Jim carries me off the building and to the street. "Put me down! Me hate you! Me hate you!" Hitting Jim in the chest over and over again.

"I know this is hard for you to understand, but You have to understand, I didn't want this to happen Bella. I tried to save him but he let go. He chose to fall Bella." Jim replies.

"Nu! You lie! Jewome nu choose to leabe me!!! It's you fault!! Me hate you! Me hate you!" I reply continuing to hit Jim in the chest over and over again.

Harvey sighs in relief as he takes a swig from his small silver flask. "This nightmare is finally over. Now maybe I can finally get some sleep." Harvey replies.

A few minutes later, Quinn comes rushing over and chokes back a sob. "No. Oh no. Why Jerome? Why couldn't you just leave this dark city with your sister and I? We could have been so happy together. I wish I could have helped you see that."

Quinn felt a hand on her shoulder and then felt herself being pulled into a tight embrace. She looked up to see Bruce looking at her sadly. Quinn could no longer hold back her tears and began to sob uncontrollably into Bruce's chest. "You really loved him didn't you?" He asked looking down at Quinn in sympathy.

"Yes." Quinn replied with a sigh.

"Can I ask why?"

"You only saw the bad in him. I knew the real Jerome. The side of him that he tried to ignore. He wasn't always like this you know. He really was kind hearted and he cared deeply for Bella and I."

"If you ever need someone to talk to feel free to give me a call." Bruce replied.

"Thanks. You've always been a good friend Bruce." Quinn replied with a sniffle. I frowned. Why was Quinn hanging around with Jerome's enemy?

"Quinn, I know that your hurting and I hate to ask this of you, but I need a favor. I need you to convince Jerome's sister that she needs to leave."

"I'm fairly certain that Jerome wouldn't want her to see him like this, but she refuses listen to us. Especially me." Jim replied with a sigh.

"Put me down!! Me hate you!! Me want be wifth me big bwotha. Me want to be wifth Jewome!" I sob.

"I'm sorry Bella, but that's simply not possible. Jerome died instantly on impact. It's time to face the facts, Jerome is gone forever. He is never coming back." Jim told Me.

"Nu! Me Want Jewome!"

"Please Quinn, I need you to help her to understand. I don't want her to see him like this." Jim pleaded once more and Quinn sighed and nodded.

"Come on Bella, this is something that you don't need to see." Quinn said taking Me by the hand.

I instantly pulled my hand out of her grasp. "Leabe  me alone twaita (leave me alone traitor). Me want Jewome. Why can't Me see Jewome?"

"Because he's dead." Jeremiah replied walking up to us.

I look up at Quinn in confusion. "But he come back wight?"

Tears stream down Quinn's face as she whispers "no Bella. He won't be coming back. Jerome went bye bye."

"How do dey know that he's gone bye bye?" I reply with a frown.

"Because kid, due to his wounds he lost a lot of blood and then to top that off he fell from the top of a four story building." Jim's partner replies.

"Yeah? And who's fault is that?" I reply with a frown glaring at Gorden and his partner.

"Believe me kid, this is not what Gorden wanted... If he could have saved your brother he would have, but that loonytoon chose to let go. He chose to fall rather then be saved."

"No. Him can't habe gone bye bye. Me don't believe you. Him pwomise him aways be wifh me."

"I know. I'm so sorry baby, but the Detectives are telling the truth. Jerome has gone bye bye, he won't be coming back. He wouldn't want you to see him like this..."

Quinn replied and I instantly begin to wail. Quinn picked me up and this time I didn't resist. Instead I began wailing sobbing uncontrollably into Winn's neck.

"Could you please make her stop? She's going to give me a migraine. Why she acting like such a baby anyway?" Jeremiah complained and Quinn glared angrily at him.

"She just lost her brother Mr. Wilde. She has every right to be upset. Besides, if you didn't drink so much you wouldn't get so many headaches."

"Alcohol has nothing to do with this. As for my sister, just because she lost Jerome doesn't mean that she should act like a baby. She's almost an adult and she should be acting like one."

I look up at Quinn in confusion "what him mean?" Quinn groaned in frustration.

"Don't worry about it puddin. Mr. Wilde doesn't know what he's talking about!" Quinn replied bopping me on my nose causing me to giggle.

"Why don't you do us a favor Mr. Wilde and get lost! That's what your good at." Mr. Wilde looked hurt but sighed and turned and walked away.

A few minutes later, a woman walked over to the group "my name is Susan. I'm from the GDCS (Gotham department of child services) where is the child that is to be taken into custody?" Jim nods towards me.

"Bella is staying with me." Quinn replied holding me closer to her.

"I'm afraid that simply isn't possible. Please don't make this any harder then it has to be Miss Young."

The lady replies as she attempts to remove me from Quinn's arms. To my surprise, Quinn reluctantly hands me to the strange lady. I reach towards her but Quinn maintains a distance from us.

I bury my head in the lady's neck and try not to show how much her choice has hurt me. Quinn doesn't want me. That shouldn't surprise me, no one has ever truly wanted me.

"Why is that? I have an apartment of my own and a well paying job. I'm perfectly capable of taking care of Bella."

"For multiple reasons, one by the looks of it your still a young adult. I highly doubt your ready for the responsibility of raising a child. Especially a child with such special needs as her. For example, who is to take care of her while you are at work?"

"No, it is in the best interest of the child to be placed in the Foster care system. Please say your goodbyes."

Upon hearing the word goodbye I immediately began to wail. "Now why is she throwing a fit?" The lady asked her voice filled with irritation.

"Winn no go bye bye! Winn no go bye bye!" I whimper. "Me want Winn."

"I'm afraid that's quite impossible, now say goodbye."

"No!" I scream now starting to kick and hit the lady who growled in frustration.

"Oh do Stop being so over dramatic. That's quite enough of that behavior. Either you behave yourself or I won't hesitate to spank you."

The lady threatened me which only caused me to cry louder and reach towards Winn.

"Excuse me ma'am was that really called for?" Harvey asked with a frown.

"This child obviously hasn't been taught how to behave. One can't let behavior like that go unpunished." The lady replied causing both Jim and Harvey to frown.

"Give me Bella right now." Quinn growls at the lady who shakes her head no.

"I already told you young lady, I can't do that. Now please say your goodbyes."

The lady replied placing Me in her car and clicking me into the car seat and closing and locking the door behind her. As she did this, I let out an ear splitting wail.

Suddenly, the police dog nearby began to snarl at the lady. I smiled dis was gonna be fun. "Make bad lady pay fowa tweatening Winn and taking me away fwom hewa." I whisper.

Quinn POV

"This woman isn't fit to care for children." I replied with a frown.

"Excuse me?" The lady replied.

"If you think that threatening to spank a child because they are upset is ok, then you shouldn't even be around children. Let alone in charge of caring for and deciding their well-being." I replied

"Looks like the little girl isn't the only one who could learn some manners. Detective please inform this young lady, that I have every legal right to take the child into custody." The lady replied.

While we were talking Bella let out an ear splitting wail. The next thing we knew the police dog nearby began to snarl and at the GDCPS Officer.

"Now what has gotten into him? Woah there buddy. Calm down." The dog responds by He practically lunged at the GDCPS Officer but was pulled back by his leash at the last second. Meanwhile, while we were distracted Bella escape the car seat and exit the car undetected.

"Would you get that mongrel under control? What's his problem anyway?"

"He knows that You're not fit to have this job." I replied.

"Your one to talk girl. Once a circus freak always a circus freak." The lady replied with a sneer.

At this, Bruce had to hold Me back. Otherwise, I'd have decked the lady. Who was currently smirking at me. "Quinn this isn't going to solve anything."

"You need to calm down. Your not in your right mind right now. Please. Calm down before you do or say something that you're going to regret."

"You should listen to your boyfriend. At least he knows how to use his brain." The lady replied continuing to smirk at me.

At this, I frown and momentarily glance over at the car to my shock Bella seemed to have disappeared. "Umm, where did Bella go?"

"What do you mean? I just put her in the car." The lady replied glancing over at the car. A confused look crossing her face as she realizes that I'm gone.

Turning to Me she frowns. "This isn't a game young lady. I could have you arrested on kidnapping charges. Where is the child?"

"Your crazy lady. How could I take Bella with you, two cops and my close friend watching me?" I demand.

"You could have gotten someone to take her while you distracted me."

"You have no proof. Wait. I know you from somewhere." I replied trying to remember where I had seen this lady before.

"I don't think so." The lady replied nervously.

"I'm fairly certain I've seen you somewhere before." I replied with a frown. Instinctively I grabbed her arm my hand connecting with face despite the protests of Bruce, Harvey,  Jim and of course this annoying lady. They were shocked when I revealed that she was wearing face makeup.

"Sofia? But your supposed to be in a coma. How?" Jim asked but Sofia didn't reply instead she glared me.
