Four Years and One Proposal Later
"Too bad your name isn't Rory," I grin as I look at the wedding invitations. The names read Rhys Williams and Lannie St.Martin. Imagine Dragons blares in the background. My favorite song is "Monster".
The wedding colors are dark purple and lime green and the two colors border the invites in diagonal stripes. I hand the last of the invites to Rhys to be put into envelopes. He smirks at me and shakes his head in mock disapproval. I laugh and pull my auburn hair back to tie it up into a ponytail.
The phone rings, "Oh that must be Chiyuki." I stand up and walk into the kitchen to answer the phone. Chiyuki Wintergreen is my best friend and maid of honor. She's also dating Ryan from 8-bitgaming. We all call her "Chica" since that's her favorite FNAF character. Her and I are going shopping for the wedding so Rhys can make a new video on his channel.
"Hello?" I say.
"Hey, Lannie!" Chica's peppy voice answers, "I'm on my way to your house right now, I should be over in about 15 minutes."
"OK, I'll be ready and waiting" I smile.
"See you then, Baby Duck!"
"Bye, Momma Duck."
I hang up the phone and walk back into the dinning room. As soon as I walk in, I notice Rhys doubled over in his seat with his fists tightly pressed against his temples. His face is set in a hard grimace of pain.
"What's wrong?" I hurry over and put my hands on his shoulders.
Rhys is whispering something but I can't tell what he's saying, something about a candle? I realize he's muttering the lyrics of the song.
"Rhys?!" I shake his shoulders. I feel panic rising in my throat. He grunts in pain and his shoulders go limp. "Rhys what's wrong?"
Rhys looks up at me, "Sorry, just a headache," he says. His voice is oddly hoarse.
I hug him tightly, "Don't scare me like that..."
"I'm sorry," he hugs me back.
I gently comb his hair with my fingers, "Chica's gonna be here soon, are you gonna be fine by then?"
"I'm not three, Lannie," he says jokingly, breaking away.
I lightly smack the top of his head and laugh, "Well excuse me for trying to look out for you."
I run upstairs to get changed quickly. Until Chica called, I'd just been wearing my plaid pajama bottoms and one of Rhys's shirts that was way too big on me. I change into my favorite white shirt with tiny strawberries around the bottom and a thin green belt as well as my dark green skinny jeans. I redo my ponytail so my bangs hang down and clip half of them back with my strawberry hair clip.
When I go back downstairs Rhys is already in his recording room setting up for his video. I turn off the music and grab A Dance with Dragons off the book self. I sit down in the dinning room to read while I wait for Chica.
Ten minutes later I hear a knock of the front door. I shove my feet into my red converse and answer the door to see Chica with a huge grin on her face. She wears her usual red glasses, dark blue and orange hoodie, and grey beanie.
"OMG, you look absolutely adorable!" She gushes, "And you're starting to show!"
I look down and place my hand on my stomach. Last month I found out I was a few months pregnant so today Chica and I are getting my dress refitted to make sure I'll have enough room to grow in four months. We also have to get her bridesmaid dress fitted as well as talk to my wedding planner about a few things.
I grab my jean jacket and we hop into Chica's car to head downtown. Halfway there, Angel Blue by Green Day starts playing on the radio.
"Ooooh, I love this song!!" Chica squeals and turns up the radio. I laugh as she sings along, slightly off key. She also starts dancing in the car and I can't help but join her in the fun.
Finally, we get to the bridal dress shop. I walk to the back and find my dress. Chica helps me change into it. My dress is lime green and white. The bodice is sleeveless and appears to wrap from my right side to my left. The bottom is puffy an almost like a ballgown dress; it opens down the middle to reveal the white underskirt. White roses decorate my left shoulder and my right hip where the dress opens.
My seamstress came in last week to alter my dress to prepare for the baby so the stomach area is a lot larger.
"It still looks great on you," Chica reassures me.
"I just hope it's large enough," I sigh. After doing a few spins so the two of us can simply admire the beautiful dress for a bit more, Chica helps me back out and we look for her dress.
We find it next to where mine was. Chica doesn't need any help with getting it on, so I wait outside the changing room for her. I rub my stomach absentmindedly and zone out. I start thinking of baby names while I wait.
By the time Chica calls me into the dressing room, I have three boy names picked out and two girl names: Rory, Ross, or Luke, and Melody or Rose.
All the bridesmaids' dresses are a simple design and knee length. They are a shade darker than my wedding dress with a dark purple ribbon around the waist and a bow in the back. All the boys will have the opposite color scheme, with the purple being more prominent and the green being the secondary color.
Once Chica is satisfied with her dress we meet with my wedding planner to discuss a few things about a location for the wedding. We want it to mainly be outside but with an option to be indoors in case it's too cold or wet, since the wedding will be in November. We also get a location for the reception before Chica brings me home.
At home, I find Rhys in the living room watching YouTube on the TV with his laptop plugged in on the side. I leave all my stuff on the dinning room table and curl up next to him. He smiles and puts his arm around me.
"Welcome home, honey," he says, "how did it go?"
I simply groan in response and bury my face in his chest.
"That bad, huh?" he laughs. I simply nod and turn to face the TV.
"Is this your new video?" I ask.
"Yup," Rhys turns up the volume a couple notches and we watch the rest together.
