Chapter 18
My dear readers. These flashbacks are not fillers. They're important if you want hints for Taehyung's alters. So don't skip it if you want to understand his condition better. It'll be through Taehyung's focus so pay attention on how he thinks. If you don't care about that, you can obviously skip. The flashback will be in italics so you'll know where it starts and ends. Enjoy.
Jungkook waltzes his way into the kitchen with a box hidden behind his back, as he stops right before Taehyung who was seated on a chair behind the kitchen asile.
"Guess what's for breakfast?" He pipes up.
"A 10 year old, meeting another 10 year old. What a sight to witness." Yoongi remarked. He was seated on the couch with Jimin in his lap, leaning his back on him.
"Indeed." Jimin agreed with a chuckle. Their voices were low. Inaudible to Jungkook's ears.
Taehyung's dark brown orbs glistens with the anticipation shining in them. They were round and big now. He starts tapping his flat palms on the aisle profusely as a question rolls out of his mouth.
"Wha? Wha?" A smile was now plastered on his face. A big rectangular one, curving on the upper lip, giving an impression of a faint heart shape.
Jungkook could swear he could see the whole universe in Taehyung's shining eyes. The whole solar system. But why did the solar system only have the Sun and the Earth in it? That too the Earth revolving right beside the sun. Well, Jungkook was always week in Geography. There was no way he could remember the orders of the planets.
"Close your eyes first. Close." Jungkook instructed him. Covering his own eyes to emphasize what he meant. Taehyung immediately closed his eyes. His smile never leaving his lips, and then he waited for the surprise, with his hands tucked between his closed thighs. So Jungkook now took out the cake from behind his back and placed it open on the kitchen aisle.
Taehyung's expressions looked so adorable that the beholders couldn't help but gather around him, with their phones fished out, taking pictures to capture the beautiful moment.
When Jungkook took too much time to tell him to open his eyes, he took it upon himself to make that decision and finally opened his almond eyes. His face contorts with confusion as he looks around to see that he was crowded by his family. A perplexed sound leaves his pouty lips as he inspects the kitchen aisle to find his morning treat.
Jungkook clears his throat to come back to reality and gestures with both hands towards the cake.
"A chocolate cake!" He chimed out. Taehyung gasped too, once his eyes fell on the cake.
"Cake!" He exclaimed, making others coo, while Jungkook's chest swelled with pride since it was him who had bought the cake.
"But Jungkook, don't give him more than a slice. Keep it in the fridge after that. He can have more later." Jimin counseled, making Jungkook nod. The Ravenette then served a slice in a plate and gave it to Taehyung after putting a spoon with it.
Taehyung fiddled in his seat in anticipation, wanting Jungkook to hurry up. He was quick to attack the treat as soon as it was placed in front of him. He was still a messy eater. After all he hadn't used the silverwares much in his life. But the others still let him try. Even Taehyung was always excited to eat on his own.
"Hey Taehyung. Want to read a story after you eat?" Jimin asked the boy who immediately nodded his head. He loved it when Jimin read stories to him. Especially when he used the picture books. That way he was able to understand the story better since he didn't completely understand the language yet.
"Okay so quickly finish whatever Jungkook feeds you and then come to my room." Jimin offered him in a gentle voice. He understood the part where he was told to finish eating. He was told that often.
"Okay Hyung I'll take him to you." Jungkook declared. Jimin gave him a smile in return and after patting Taehyung's head he went back to his room. Chimmy was asleep right now and Yoongi who was already dressed for work, also took his leave.
So he decided to make his bed and clean his room while he waited for Jungkook to arrive with Taehyung. It was half an hour later when he heard a knock on his door. There at the door were Jungkook and Taehyung. The blonde boy standing in support with Jungkook's body.
He had covered a part of his journey on his wobbly legs and part of it in Jungkook's arms.
"Come in. I've already picked out a book for you. I bought it yesterday." Jimin told him with a smile. Jungkook helped him reach his bed and when it was too much for the boy he picked him up by his thighs and descended him on the soft mattress.
"I'll go take a shower Hyung." Jungkook simply informed Jimin before taking his leave.
"Should I start then?" Jimin asked the younger who immediately nodded his head.
"So the story is called A Mother's embrace." Jimin started as he showed the book cover to Taehyung. Strangely enough, Taehyung flinched when he heard the title. It somehow sounded familiar and he couldn't remember why.
"Long time ago in a far away village lived a happy little family. A mother, a daughter and a father." Jimin started, opening the first page of the book. After looking at the picture on the book, it was finally becoming clear to the boy why it sounded so familiar.
"Alpha. The boy is shaking terribly and his breathing is extremely ragged. He won't survive at this rate." It was the guard keeping post outside Taehyung's prison, who had informed this.
"Wouldn't survive? I'm not done with him yet. Make him breath. I don't know how but if he dies then you'll die as well." The Alpha had roared out.
"Oh my. Looks like the boy is having a panic attack." It was the voice of an elderly woman. She was the maid who fed him food.
"I take it that you know what you're talking about. Bring him out of that attack you mentioned. Talk with him if you have to. But only this time." The Alpha warned the woman before storming out of that place.
"Umm can you bring me a book and a pencil? Be quick." They didn't have to be told twice before the guards rushed to get what she had asked for. Meanwhile, she stepped into the dark prison holding a lantern and made her way to the boy who was hyperventilating in the corner.
"Hey baby. I'm here. Mumma's here. Don't get scared." The maid whispered into his ears. Trying to comfort him by pretending to be his mother. If only the boy knew who a mother is.
"Here." The guard was breathing hard as he handed the book and the pencil to the maid. He took his leave after that, leaving the boy alone with the elderly woman.
"Listen now. I'll recite a story to you. It's called A Mother's Embrace." The boy's breathing was finally finding a proper rhythm as his eyes fell on the book and the pencil in the woman's hand and his ears payed attention to her gentle voice."
"Long time ago in a far away village lived a happy little family. A mother, a daughter and a father." She started as her hands started working her magic on the blank page of the book. She was a brilliant artist during her younger times. But sadly she had no way to follow her dream.
The curious eyes of the little boy fell on the page as he saw three figures being drawn on the page.
"This is the mother. This is the father. And this is their daughter." Although Taehyung didn't understand much but he concluded from the drawing that the mother looked like the maid in front of him. The daughter person was like him, but they strangely had long hairs. The father? He has never seen anyone like the father.
"The Daughter used to be very close to her father. Even more than her mother. But suddenly the things were changing now. The mother saw the changes but she didn't pay much attention to it." The maid's hands moved expertly on the paper as she first drew the picture of the daughter and the father, happily enjoying their time in a garden. But then the picture changed, as the flowers in the garden withered, and the daughter hid behind a tree, hiding away from the man who was looking for her.
"The father always used to act sweet infront of the mother, but behind the scenes he was hiding something big." She drew the mother and the daughter, cooking together in the kitchen. The father's face was turned away from them, but there was an evil smile on his face. Taehyung could finally decide who the father was. It was the man who tortured him everyday.
"It was a fine sunny morning when the mother was sitting on her wooden chair. Knitting a red muffler for her daughter. She was almost done so she decided to look for her. But she was nowhere to be seen. Including the father." She drew the mother standing alone in a room. A wooden chair beside her, while she held a muffler in her hand. Her face was painted with worry as she looked for her daughter and her husband.
"She couldn't find them anywhere. So she broke into tears and knelt down on the ground. But soon they came out of the barn. It was the only place she hadn't checked." The page now had the picture of a crying mother and the daughter and the father, coming out of the barn. The father's hand was on his daughter's back who had her head tilted down.
"The mother quickly pulls her daughter in her embrace, as she asks her if she was fine. The daughter nods her head, but her mother finds something strange. There were claw marks on her daughter's hands. The mother quickly hides her daughter behind her back and asks the father to reveal himself. And that he does. The father was actually a monster living under the disguise of a human. The mother quickly runs with her daughter, to their house and finds a sword. With the same swords she kills her husband without a single thought. Finally protecting her daughter from her father." The maid's hands were tired with how quickly she drew the whole story but once she was done Taehyung was looking at her with tears in his eyes. A flower of hope bloomed in his heart today. That a mother will come and save him too. A mother will come and save her 'daughter' from the monster.
"Finally protecting her daughter from her father." Jimin recited, finally finishing the story. He then looked up from the book to stare at Taehyung who was looking at him with a gentle expression. An expression that Jimin had never really seen before.
Jimin could only gawk in surprise as Taehyung slowly stood up from the bed and walked towards the cradle, Chimmy was sleeping in. He wasn't wobbling.
"Mother protect. We protect." Taehyung's voice was soft as silk, as he roamed his hand through Chimmy's hairs.
"Mine. No." Taehyung told him as he placed a hand on his stomach. His eyes now had tears in them. A mother was broken.
"They take away." He told him, falling down on his knees. Jimin had no idea what was happening right now. He could only watch him crying on his knees. Crying, to let out the pain of a failed mother.

Guys. I've been offered a contract by an Editor. They've asked me to publish a book on their platform. I'm a college student and I don't have the time to write a new story, so I'm thinking of changing this story into an ordinary bxb fiction and publishing it there.
The problem is that I'll have to take down the book here. I really need the money since I don't really have a source of income. I would start a patreon page but I know that none of you would be able to support me. So is it okay if I do that? I know that at the end of the day it's my decision but I'm really connected to you readers too. So tell me what I should do.
Oh and after reading this chapter, what do you think? How many alters did you discover?
