Chapter 10

Jungkook now stood inside Jimin's room as he stared at Taehyung with eyes full of adoration and distaste. The distasteful feeling was completely foreign, yet he couldn't help but let it surface and that was all thanks to Jimin.

"Why did you put the universe's every colour in existence on his clothes? Why are they so colourful? And I don't remember buying this!"  Jungkook exclaimed gesturing at the attire Taehyung was wearing.

"Oh please, you're just exaggerating. He looks adorable in these clothes. Oh and I ordered them myself. There was a big sale on this shopping app I use, so I decided to order some clothes for myself and while I was at it I ordered some for Taehyung too. I've put them in Taehyung's new closet. Did I tell you? Taehyung's room is ready to be moved in. We'll shift his bed there and all his other belongings. He'll be so happy to have his own room. Namjoon told me that he loved the flowers on the walls. That was my Idea. I knew he would love the wall paintings so I suggested them to get it done. Aren't I just a genius?" Jimin had a huge smile on his face as Jungkook just rolled his eyes at him.

"I ask you one simple question and you start babbling like crazy. Let's go Taehyung, we're getting late." Jungkook gave one last look at Jimin as he dragged Taehyung along with him.

As soon as Taehyung saw the car outside he got excited and started jumping in his wheelchair. He loved riding in the car. He loved the speed as the wind rustled through his strands. When Jungkook rolled down the window, he would peep his head out as much as he can and feel the wind on his face. The scenery outside the window always looked beautiful too. In a nutshell, Taehyung was going haywire about driving in the car.

"I hope you're just as excited when you get a haircut. I've seen those toddlers crying their eyes out as if we're going to murder them." Jungkook said, almost shivering at the thought. He looked over at Taehyung who was still happily pointing at the car as he just wanted to go in as soon as possible.

"Oh well then. Let's go!" Jungkook cheered for the sake of Taehyung as he lifted him up from his chair and seated him on the passenger seat. After properly securing him with the seat belt, he went back to fold the wheelchair and placed it in the trunk. He then occupied the driver's seat as soon as the engine kicked to life. The whole ride was otherwise silent except for Taehyung's cheerful giggles which didn't fail to put a smile on Jungkook's face too. After a 20 minutes drive, they had arrived at their destination so Jungkook carefully parked the car in the parking lot. This didn't sit well with Taehyung as he started frowning and banging at the car, wanting for Jungkook to drive again.

"Oh come on, we can't keep driving all the time. We are here to get you a haircut, so let's do that. If you really like riding in the car so much, then I'll take you on a drive later." With this Jungkook got out of the car and opened the trunk to get the wheelchair out. He walked by Taehyung's side and though, after much struggle, he managed to successfully settle him in his wheelchair.

As they made their way inside the salon, all the eyes were on them. Jungkook was used to it so he didn't mind it as much. After all, it was normal to pay attention to the customer who enters a shop but Taehyung didn't like being stared down. The eyes especially lingered longer on Taehyung since he was on a wheelchair. The curious eyes were trying to find out the reason behind it. Jungkook sensed Taehyung's discomfort and immediately cleared his throat so as to direct the attention towards himself.

"We're here to get a haircut. For him." Jungkook suddenly regretted coming here. He should've just requested for door service. Now that he had declared that they were here for Taehyung all the eyes were once again on him.

"Can you all please stop staring at him. I'm sure all of you won't be cutting his hair. Whoever's going to do it can take a look at him. All this attention is making him uncomfortable." Jungkook finally voiced out which made them all go back to their respective work.

"Hello! I'll be your hairdresser for today. Do you have a haircut in mind? Or any specific colour? Or should I choose something for you?" A woman walked up to them with a delicate smile on her face.

"No, I don't have anything specific in mind. Anything is fine as long as it doesn't cover his whole face. His bangs are so long that they go below his nose. Just give him a style that suits his face." Jungkook explained whilst Taehyung was clung to his side as he looked at the women with fearful eyes.

"Well, then sir should we help him on the chair? Or would you do it yourself?" The lady asked, gesturing towards the styling chair in front of the big mirrors.

"I'll help him." Jungkook stated and picked up Taehyung in bridal style. He then helped him to get settled on the chair. For a while, Taehyung forgot all about the people around him as he curiously stared at his reflection. He had seen a mirror before, but not this big. As Taehyung was busy admiring his face he felt a hand on his head, which he discovered to be not of Jungkook. This frightened him to the core as he immediately swatted her hand away.

"Sorry about that." Jungkook apologised to the lady as he turned Taehyung's chair towards himself. As soon as he did that, Taehyung hugged his waist tightly as he pointed at the lady accusingly.

"She's a good lady. She won't hurt you. Plus I'm right beside you, I won't let anything happen to you. Here, I'll hold your hand. Okay?" Jungkook coaxed him in a gentle voice as he took his smaller hand in his. With his free hand, he removed Taehyung's rubber band and long raven locks were cascading down to cover Taehyung's vision. He shook his head to move them away from his eyes but Jungkook beat him to it as he tucked them behind his ears.

"You were right. They are actually very long. Any specific reason behind that?" The lady asked and Jungkook didn't know what to reply. He started thinking of an excuse through which he can avoid telling the truth and in the end just spouted a stupid yet plausible reason.

"He likes to keep his hair long. You know how the movie stars keep it these days. He's obsessed with being trendy." Jungkook explained with an awkward smile but the lady seemed to buy it as she nodded her head in understanding.

"Long hair indeed suits him. That's a good choice. How does a mullet sound? And maybe blonde hair colour?"  The lady suggested as jungkook thought it over.

"Mullet should be okay but dyeing his hair? Wouldn't that damage his hair or his scalp? What if he goes bald? What if he has some irritation in his eyes due to the chemicals?" Jungkook bombarded the lady with questions that only managed to make her chuckle in amusement.

"You're such a caring brother." She complimented which made Jungkook frown.

"Brother? No, we're like boyfriends. He just doesn't know it yet." Jungkook declared with a scoff.

"I'm sorry?"

"You shouldn't worry about our relationship status. Just continue what you were saying. About his haircut." Jungkook said, cutting her off.

"Umm so don't worry about that sir. We'll use  the best products available. And since this is his first time dying his hair, the chemicals won't affect the scalp at the first attempt (that's a lie)."

"Okay then. Just shorten these bangs asap."

"Right on it." The lady said with a smile as she started spraying Taehyung's hair with water. This made the boy giggle as he enjoyed how the water came out every time the lady pulled the handle. She then proceeded to pick up the scissors and started working her hands like an expert. At first, Taehyung was frightened of the sharp object but the feeling of Jungkook's thumb caressing the back of his hand was enough to calm him down. It barely took her 10 minutes as she was done with her work. Jungkook couldn't judge how Taehyung's new haircut looked as his hair was still wet but he could guess that it already looked a thousand times better than the prior one. He patiently waited as the hairdresser started bringing the hair colour, a bowl and all the other things that were needed to dye Taehyung's hair. By this time Taehyung had started playing with Jungkook's knuckles as he sat with the anticipation of going back home. He kept his undivided attention on Jungkook's hand as he was suddenly made to face forward when the lady had once again turned his chair towards the mirror. His reflection now looked boring to Taehyung as he pouted whilst staring at himself. He was once again taken by surprise as the lady started dyeing his hair with a brush similar to what those men used while painting the wall and then coated it with some shiny silver paper. She kept repeating the process until his whole head was covered with the silver paper, he now looked akin to a wrapped Christmas ball. This time they had to wait much longer which made Taehyung doze off.  When it was time to wash his hair Jungkook shook his shoulders and woke him up.

The whole process of dyeing his hair was completed as the lady was now blow drying his hair. Taehyung didn't like the hot air and kept swatting the thing away so Jungkook had to hold him down. Although after a bit of resistance, the final result was ready and that made Jungkook's jaw drop. He could swear that if Taehyung knew how to walk then he could single-handedly end every model's career. Jimin's choice of overly colourful clothes was now looking so perfect that he suddenly had the urge to send him thank you gifs. His mate was the definition of perfect and no one could deny it.

"This is perfect. He looks gorgeous! You're an artist. You didn't just give him a haircut, you've created an art." Jungkook showered the lady with compliments which made her fluster.

"Thanks a lot, sir. That would be ₩31,740."

It was finally time to go back and Taehyung couldn't be happier. He wiggled excitedly in his seat as he waited to hear that familiar sound of a car engine.

"Let's go!" Jungkook declared as he started the car and for the first time Taehyung repeated too.

"Lech go!" Taehyung shouted back which made Jungkook's head turn so fast that even the speed of light couldn't compare.

"Although you've already spoken your first word it still feels like the first time. Oh god, I better record this." Jungkook hastily fished out his phone as he opened the camera and pointed it towards Taehyung.

"Okay. Say it again. Let's go!"

"Lech go!" Taehyung's mispronunciation had Jungkook squealing like a teenage girl as he made the younger repeat the two words again and again.

"I'll teach you let's get it next."
