Chapter Sixty-Two: I Want Cake
*******Kit's POV*******
"Congratulations!" I heard from behind me as I was being pulled in 14 different directions by a hundred different people.
I turned towards the voice and saw one of my aunts standing there. I leaned down and hugged her.
"Thank you, Aunt Debi," I told her as we hugged. "I'm so glad that you were able to come."
"Like I would miss my favorite niece's wedding!" She said with a laugh.
I laughed a little. She always called me that. "I love when you say that. Because there are like 20 nieces to choose from."
"And they all know that you're my favorite, too!" She said, a huge smile on her face.
Somebody grabbed my arm and started tugging me away. It was one of the four wedding planners that were hired to construct this event. When you married a K-pop idol, nothing was left to chance.
"I'll find you in a bit!" I called to my aunt, waving to her as I was pulled away.
"It's time to cut the cake," the wedding planner told me, her sharp nails digging into my skin.
"If you want me to be able to do that, then you're going to have to let go before your talon nails cause me to need stitches."
She paused and looked down, then released my forearm, looking at the small red welts she had left behind. "I'm so sorry, Mrs. Kim. I have Soo-Na yelling in my ear," She paused to point at the headset she was wearing. "And telling me to drag you over to the cake."
"Tell Soo-Na that I said to chill the fuck out," I told her, rolling my eyes. "It's not like they can cut the cake without me. I am the bride, after all."
"I know, I know," she said. "She's just so bossy. And kind of scary."
"And impatient," I added.
"And a bit rude."
"Minus the bit."
We stopped and looked at each other, then started laughing.
"Ji-Ho, if she gives you any more trouble, send her my way, okay?" I said, patting one of her shoulders lightly. "You have done most of the work for this over-sized shindig yourself. You deserve to not be yelled at."
Ji-Ho bowed to me. "Thank you, Mrs. Kim. I really appreciate that."
"There's my beautiful wife," a deep voice said, as warm arms wrapped around me from behind.
I leaned to the side so that I could turn my head enough to see him, placing my hands on top of his arms that were around my waist. "It's not like I was lost, Tae."
"I know that, but I want cake."
I laughed as I leaned my head so that I could kiss his cheek. "Well then let's go cut that monstrosity."
He took my hand and walked me over to the middle of the dance floor, where they had wheeled the table with the cake, so that it was center stage.
"You could have picked it out yourself," Tae told me. "So that it was smaller and more simple, if that's what you wanted."
"No I couldn't have," I said with a laugh. "My husband is an important person, and there are like five million people here. My choice would have been a funfetti sheet cake that fed like twenty."
I stared at the cake. There were two stacks of three huge layers that touched on the bottom, with six more layers in the middle above them. Every other layer was white or turquoise, and the white layers had turquoise lines, with edible pearls where they criss-crossed. On the second highest layer, there were little, edible, purple hibiscus flowers. It was all topped off by a wooden carving that my brother had made, of a bride and groom, with 'Mr. and Mrs. Kim' next to them.
"There would have been some really upset people that didn't get cake," Tae said. "And I would have been body-bumping little kids out of the way to make sure that I got some."
Just then, a loud voice boomed out through the speakers. It spoke in Korean, then in English.
"If everyone could please turn their attention to the middle of the dance floor, Mr. and Mrs. Kim Taehyung will now cut their wedding cake."
Tae picked up a knife from next to the cake, then held it out so that I could wrap my fingers around it, as well. Together, we cut into the cake, cutting out a triangle, and putting it on one of the small plates.
I stared at the place on the cake where we had carved out a piece. The inside of the cake was white with rainbow colored sprinkles.
"Tae?" I asked, turning towards him. "I thought it was supposed to be a strawberry cake. That's your favorite."
"And funfetti is yours, my love," He told me with a smile. "I called and changed the order, so now there are layers of both of our favorites."
I threw my arms around his neck and hugged him close. "God, I love you. How I ended up with the world's most perfect soulmate, I have no idea."
"You just have really low standards," he told me, chuckling as he hugged me close, placing a soft kiss right below my ear.

Five hours later, I fell back on the bed in the hotel room we had booked for the night, before we left for our honeymoon in the morning.
"Are you okay, baby?" Tae asked as he loosened his tie enough to pull it off over his head.
"Just tired, handsome," I told him, turning my head to watch him. "And this dress is driving my skin insane. It's so itchy."
"Why didn't you pick something more comfortable?" he asked, sitting next to me on the bed. "I would have married you in a bathrobe, if that's what you wanted. Just so long as it meant you were officially mine forever."
"First off, that was really sweet," I said with a smile. "But your mom picked out this dress."
"You could have told her no."
I shook my head. "She didn't like any of the dresses that I picked out. She said that they were 'too American' and I needed to remember that I was marrying one of the biggest Korean celebrities, and people would expect certain things at our wedding."
"You didn't have to go along with her, though, Kit," He told me.
"I want her to like me, so I just did what she said," I told him. "It was more important to her than it was to me, so why not just give her what she wanted? As long as I got to marry you, I didn't care."
He leaned down and kissed me softly. "My mom already likes you. She thinks that you even me out."
I laughed. "She's seen on the show how much I fought against you being my soulmate. I'm surprised that she doesn't hate me for putting you through all of that."
"She wouldn't. She's not like that," he insisted. "Besides, you gave in eventually. That's all that matters."
"I had to," I said. "After that little incident in the broom closet, where I realized that your mark matched mine-"
"And then you ran away from me again."
"I know. I'm sorry," I said. I sat up on the bed and turned to look at him, even though we had already had this conversation several times. "It was just hard for me to accept that it actually was you."
"Which I still don't understand," he said with a sigh. "I knew within the first five minutes of meeting you, that you were my soulmate."
"I've explained this to you already, Tae."
"Thinking that I'm too good for you is silly."
I laughed and rolled my eyes at him . "I still think that. But I also know that even if that's true, it's equally true that you're my soulmate. Besides, we made for some good TV."
He laughed, too. "That's true. We kind of had everybody wanting us to be together. But I guess that's the point of the show, right? To make fans want their favorite idols to be with their soulmates, so that they accept us together."
"Yep. That was the point."
"And to find each other."
"That, too."
"And to live happily ever after."

A/N: Here's a new chapter. There's a second part to it, that's already written, that I will post in a few days. It didn't really go the way that I meant for it, too, but I have to do what my characters tell me to. Please remember to vote and comment. I hope that you're all staying safe and healthy. -------Kat
