Chapter Four
A/N: these three are to cute!!!
Sans and Papyrus both flinched as a loud cry echoed though the night. They had just put Frisk down to go to sleep, seeing as it was 12 at night, but the little human would not go to sleep.
Both he and Papyrus rushed into the room to see Frisk crying in the side of the mesh crib, tears running down her face. Both skeletons felt guilt crawl up their spines and looked at each other sadly. Sans walked over, Papyrus following, and said while picking Frisk up "Frisk you gotta go to bed now kid."
Frisk made an unhappy whine and cuddled closer to Sans, holding tight to his white shirt, seeing as both boys were dressed in pajamas. Sans's grey sweats dragged slightly along the ground as he leaned against the crib with a sigh.
Papyrus yawned and Sans said "Go back to sleep Pap. I got her."
"BUT I'M....THE GREATEST BROTHER EVER!" Papyrus yawned and leaned against the crib beside him. Frisk's hand went out and grabbed hold of Papyrus's hand and cuddled it as well, sighing happily.
Sans then got an idea and whispered "Papyrus, follow me to the couch."
The brothers did a shuffle walk to the couch and both sat down heavily, and Sans pulled the lever on the wide of the couch and sighed as he reclined back. Papyrus quickly followed suite, and also sighed as he reclined back.
"ARE BABIES ALWAYS LIKE THIS?" Papyrus question, honest curiosity in his voice. Sans nodded and said "You were like this too."
Papyrus gave an embarrassed laugh, which caused Sans to laugh. Frisk gave a tired giggle and Sans smiled down at her.
"SANS..."
"Yeah Pap?"
"DOES THIS FEEL....NORMAL TO YOU?"
"Yea it does."
Papyrus sighed and said "I'M GLAD YOU STOPPED ME FROM KILLING THIS HUMAN SANS."
Sans smile and said "Me too Pap, Me too."

Sans blinked as sunlight hit his eye sockets, and stretched with a groan. He scratches his left hand before he jerked up in a panic.
"Why does this kid keep disappearing when I sleep?!" He hissed and ran into the kitchen, only to fall on the floor laughing. Frisk was on the counter, smacking her hands into spaghetti sauce while Papyrus was running around in a panic, screeching loudly "THAT IS NOT HOW HOW YOU MAKE SPAGHETTI HUMAN!! DONT PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE SAUCEEEE!!!"
Once he noticed Sans, Papyrus said "SANS! HELP ME, FRISK IS MESSING UP THE SAUCE! I THOUGHT HUMANS KNEW THE WONDER OF EATING SPAGHETTI!"
Sans's laughter was cut off when Papyrus said that and Papyrus turned sad as both remembered the letter that came with Frisk. Sans grinned at a sudden thought and said "Why don't I go get some Grillbys?"
Papyrus nodded and said "GOOD IDEA SANS!"
Sans grinned and grabbed Frisk and while cleaning her up, dialed Grillby on his phone.
"Hey Grills, anyone there yet?" He greeted, and laughed at his friend who huffed and said "We haven't even opened yet Sans."
"Hey Grills...." Sans said, his voiced serious as he wiped Frisk's face clean and tried to stop her from bitting the cloth.
"Yeah?" Grillby asked, noticing the change in his friends voice.
"Can you keep a secret?" He asked, and Grillby replied "Of course. You know that."
"Even from the King?" Sans stressed, and Grillby paused before saying "For you Sans, yes I can."
"Good. I'll be over in five." Sans said before ending the call. Sans quickly put his hoodie on, put Frisk in his hood then called out to Papyrus and said "I'M GOING TO GRILLBYS!"
Papyrus quickly ran into the room and said "WHAT ABOUT THE HUMAN?!"
"We can trust Grills, I promise." Sans said and Papyrus relaxed a little.
"I SHALL SEE YOU SOON THEN!" Papyrus stated before running back into the kitchen. Sans grinned then walked out, quickly taking a shortcut to Grillbys, seeing as it was freezing and he didn't want the kid sick. Standing in front of Grillbys, Sans took a deep breath and walked in. The bar looked the same as it had underground, but this time devoid of anyone being in it, except for Grillby, who was staring at him curiously.
"What's up Sans?" He said, a comforting crackling sound emitting from his flames. Sans sighed and opened his mouth to speak before a happily squealing voice said "Sans!!" in a very baby-like manor.
Grillby raised one eyebrow shaped flame and Sans gave a nervous laugh as tiny hands started gently patting the top of his head. Sans reached behind him and pulled Frisk out of his hood, and she giggled happily towards Grillby, who jumped back and said "Geez! Sans what the hell?!"
"This is Frisk." Sans said nervously, while grinning weakly. Grillby cautiously went up towards them and asked curiously "Is Frisk...human?"
Sans nodded and Grillby face-palmed and asked "Why are you carrying a human around Sans?! Even the little ones are cruel!"
"But Frisk isn't! Here read this." Sans help up the letter that he found with Frisk in one hand, and held Frisk with the other. Grillby narrowed his eyes and fixed his glasses as he bent down and quickly read the letter. A sick look passed over his friends flamed face and Grillby asked quietly "Is this for real?"
Sans nodded and Grillby hissed "She was left for dead for being kind to monsters?! What the hell is wrong with humans?!"
Sans sighed and said "I have no clue Grills, no clue."
Grillby nodded then looked at Frisk before asking hesitantly "Can I hold her? It's just been a while since I could hold even my own..."
Sans looked hesitant to hand Frisk over, seeing as his friend was completely made of fire, then handed Frisk over to Grillby with a strained "Careful Grills."
Grillby out on some special looking gloves and gently held onto Frisk, who sighed happily at the new source of warmth. At Sans confused look, Grillby explained "These gloves help me to not burn stuff."
Frisk giggled then gave both men a heart attack. Quickly reaching up, Frisk shoved her hand into Grillbys face, running her fingers through his flames. Sans could breath and felt faint as he waited for a pained scream to echo through the building, only for both Grillby and Sans look on in shock as Frisk continued to play with Grillbys face, unharmed by the fire. Glancing at each other in shock, Grillby gestured towards his gloves and Sans nodded, albeit a slight worried. Grillby held Frisk in one arm as Sans quickly took his gloves off and put them in his hoodie pocket. Grillby hesitantly wrapped his arms around Frisk, who giggled and hugged Grillby tight. Making a noise, Frisk reached into her little pants pocket and pulled out a piece of smashed bread, attempting to place it in Grillbys mouth, only to laugh as it burned to ashes.
Grillby made an odd noise and said "Sans...this kid is welcomes here anytime."
