| Scenario start: "WHAT AN ILL FATED MEETING TO BE SEATED IN FRONT OF YOU."
Cain's legs were crossed as his back was pressed up against the velvet cushioning of the carriage. A leather bounded book was in his hand as he tried to get some more reading in before arriving at that hell hole people call a kingdom. Okay, well maybe he was being a bit dramatic. Sure, it was hot as hell and he always sweated like a pig being roasted. Not to mention the people were annoyingly cheerful all the time for whatever reason. But, that's not what made it a nuisance to go to the kingdom. Oh no, no. It was one person in particular. Not the Queen, she was just fine. Not the King, he was a little annoying but nothing he couldn't tolerate. Not even the youngest sibling, even with his overly sweet nature. No. It was that God damn, blasted son of bitch, James White. The oldest sibling and next in line to be king. His personality was annoying to the highest degree, everything about him just made Cain want to run his through his stomach. Ever since he first met the bastard two years ago they've had this automatic disdain. And the passing years definitely didn't lessen his hatred for him, if anything it only made it enlarge more and more.
As a matter of fact, Cain was so sure of their hatred for one another that he was almost certain they would go to war with one another when ascending the throne. Which was fine with him. If it was war he wanted, it's war he'll get. After all he was no stranger to battle and bloodshed. He's regarded as a war God almost, getting a thrill from shedding blood any way he can. Which admittedly, wasn't the best trait to have as a future king, but at least he had the skill to back it up.
Cain's eyes never lifted up from the book he was reading, eyes going across each page. Even when the carriage came to a stop and his sister excitedly sped out, he still didn't move an inch. It wasn't until his precious boom was snatched from his hand that he looked up to meet the annoyed gaze of his father. "Damn it, Cain! How long do you plan on keeping this sullied feud between you and the eldest prince going? I swear if you don't get out this carriage right now I'll have the butler retrieve all your books from your room for six months." His father yelled to him. Oh here we go. The long lecture of how it was important to form and keep bonds/alliances with other kingdoms. Blah, blah, bLaH!!! Cain simply stared blankly at him as if he was speaking orkgund (language of the orges). It was obvious he wasn't caring about a damn thing his father was trying so hard to get through to him with.
His mother placed a gentle hand against her husband's arm, smiling as she pushed him aside and shooed him away to be outside with Rose. "Cain...Sweetie, come on, look at me." She said to him with a soft tone. Arms still crossed, it took a few seconds before he fully turned his head around to look at his mother. A bright smile spread across her lips as she cupped his cheek with a chuckle. "There's that face...Come on, love. I know you and the eldest prince have your squabbles , but could you please get out the carriage, love? Look. I'll make a deal with you, if you want all you'll have to do is greet yourself and make it through the dinner. Afterwards you are free to not attend anymore functions for the remainder of our time here. Plus I'm sure e poor horses would probably like to rest as well." Emily said the last part in a joking tone, managing to make Cain crack a small smile. It took a few seocnds before he responded, shrugging his shoulders with a sigh. "Fine.... i suppose...that sounds like a good deal." He grumbled out. Much to his mother's delight. Pinching his cheek softly before patting his head with a happy hum. "Thank you, Cain." Emily said to him, stepping out the carriage with Cain right behind her. He forced a smile a onto his lips as he saw the family standing outside, waiting to greet them. "Queen, Kyla." Cain greeted, bowing respectfully as he kissed the back of her hand. "King, Joe." He greeted him with a smile, doing another bow. His eyes traveling over to Jace. Reaching his hand out and shaking. "Prince, Jace." Finally he turned to look st James, his smile faltering a little. "Prince, James." Cain said his name blandly, not bothering to shake his hand as he stared at him blankly.
