Truth or dare. That was always a fun game to play at a party full of teenagers. Nothing ever got awkward.

When the four of us got inside, there was a relatively large circle that was being formed in Faye's huge living room. "Ok, is everyone here that wants to play?" Faye shouted.

There were a lot of nods and a few verbal affirmations. Shawn, Faye, Teddy, and I all sat down with the rest of the group. Faye proceeded to shush everyone.

"So, who would like to go first?"

There was complete silence and all were avoiding eye contact with each other. I rolled my eyes and raised my hand, what a bunch of chickens, "I'll go first."

Her eyes lit up, "Thank you Lily! Woo hoo take one for the girls! Ok, here's how everything will go, the person who gets asked t or d, once they do their choice, it's their turn to ask someone. Oh, and you cannot ask or dare stuff that includes yourself. Like I can't dare my boyfriend to kiss me."

There were a few snickers and Shawn blushed uncomfortably. Faye didn't seem to notice and continued to talk, "Sooo, Dora, do you want to ask the first t or d?"

Teddy smiled, "I'd be honored madame." Since he was on my left, he just turned to face me. "Lily, truth or dare?"

I was feeling adventurous, "Oh why not, dare."

"Ahahaha. I dare you..." he gazed around the room, "To lick everybody's elbow."

"What!?!? Teddy that's disgusting!"

He doubled over laughing, "You said dare so you have to do whatever I say!"

I grimaced and walked around the circle of teenagers, licking everyone's elbow in turn. "Y'all better have previously washed your elbows."

There were giggles and gagging noises all throughout the room.

"Ok," I looked around the group for my next victim. I decided to get some revenge. "Teddy darling, truth or dare?"

"Mmm, I don't trust you right now. So I'll go with truth," he joked around.

"Out of all the girls here, who would you smash or pass?"

He suddenly blushed, "I don't want to offend anyone.  Umm, Faye, smash..." he went around the circle and finally came to me. "And Lily, definitely smash," he winked at me.

Now it was my turn to blush. Although he quickly added, "I mean no disrespect though." What a gentleman.

Teddy asked the question to the next person and so on. There were tons of laughs and embarrassing moments.

"Shawn truth or dare?" One of Faye's friends called out to him.

"Let's do dare." He shrugged his shoulders and laughed.

A mischievous look flashed across her face. "I dare you to kiss any girl here that's not Faye."

Faye immediately stood up, "Carissa no! What are you doing!?"

"It's all in fun, plus I think it's time to take things up a notch," Carissa replied.

All eyes were on Shawn. He slowly nodded and stood up. And I thought the room was tense before! Now it felt as if we were all waiting for a nuclear bomb to drop.

I was playing with strands of my hair when a shadow fell across me. Looking up, there was Shawn. Wow from this angle, he looks really attractive.

I lifted myself up and stood in front of him. I bet I looker like a deer in the headlights. This had always been a dream of mine, to kiss Shawn, but now that it was happening I'm not sure how I felt about it. I wanted him to kiss me because he wanted to, not cause he was dared to. But I guess this will have to do.

His soft eyes gazed deeply into mine. "You don't have to do this if you don't want to."

"No I want to." Wait, what was I saying!?!? Ugh I'm such an idiot.

A small smirk crossed his face. He placed his hands on my waist and drew me in to him. I could feel his heartbeat against mine. My breathing became heavy and I low key felt like I was about to have a panic attack.

Shawn kept one hand on my waist and moved the other to my cheek. Gently yet passionately, he pressed his lips against mine. I'd only dated one guy previously and we had kissed plenty of times. This kiss however was totally different.

I wrapped my arms around his shoulders and our lips moved in sync as the world seemed to fade into a blur. Time was nonexistent. My mind was focused only on Shawn. His lips sent sparks throughout my veins and I didn't want the moment to end.

We finally broke away to gasp for breath and that's when I noticed everyone hooting and hollering. I didn't want to look over at Faye, I knew what her expression would be.

Our cheeks were flushed and our eyes were shining. All around us, people began to chant, "Kiss her again, kiss her again." Pretty soon the whole room was filled with these words.

Before I was aware of what was happening, Shawn had swept me up in his arms and kissed me intensely. I kissed him back, slightly dazed but completely happy.

Shawn's POV:

Oh my god I'm kissing her. I actually get to kiss Lily! Her lips are perfect, her body is perfect, she is perfect. I have to break up with Faye. I'll do it tonight.

I lightly tugged on her bottom lip with my teeth and I felt her smile and kiss me harder.

Lily's POV:

I think Shawn felt me smiling because he smiled slightly too. A hand was harshly clapped on to my shoulder and thrust me and Shawn away from each other. I almost whimpered from the sudden lack of connection.

Faye stood there with a dark rage. "Ok this game is over. So is this party. Everyone can go home now." She huffed and never broke eye contact with me and Shawn.

Slowly, the room began emptying. "Shawn I need to talk to you. Now." Faye said through gritted teeth. "And Lily you need to leave."

Teddy came up beside me, "Do you need a ride home?"

"Yeah thanks," my voice was a little shaky.

"Oh Lily, one more thing." I felt a sharp sting across the side of my face.

"FAYE!" Shawn and Teddy exclaimed. "Lily are you ok?"

Tears burned across the angry welt that was starting to form on my cheek. "I'm fine. I want to go home."

"Come on Lily, let's go, these two need to talk." Teddy sighed and guided me outside.

Almost as soon as we closed the door, shouts could be heard, mostly on Faye's side. There were a lot of people standing around the lawn. I wiped the tears from my face, but I'm sure there was an obvious purple bruise forming.

Another thing I didn't expect, was a load of paparazzi. Some kids must have put on their social media that they had been to a party with Shawn Mendes.

"That's her!" One of the girls pointed to me.

About 6 photographers stampeded over to me. "Miss Miss, what's your name?"

Teddy blocked their view of me, "Guys, please leave."

"Is it true that you were seen kissing Shawn Mendes? Are you two dating?"

"Hey, why don't you shove off." He pulled me into his arms and tried to push past the flashing cameras.

Unfortunately they were all tightly packed together, creating a kind of barricade. "Miss, what happened to your face? Did you get into a fight?"

I was fed up, "No I was not in a fight. Now leave me alone please. I want to get home."

"Of course of course," I could tell they were lying through their teeth.

Teddy had been trying to create a path to the car door, "Come on." He gave me his jacket which I used to help cover my face.

All the flashes and shouts were becoming too much. My head felt fuzzy and I felt overwhelmed. I was in a daze and didn't realize I was in Teddy's car driving home till about 10 minutes later.

"I hate paparazzi."

Shawn's POV:

"HOW COULD YOU KISS HER?!?!" Faye was screaming at me.

"How could YOU slap her?!" I was honestly more worked up about the violence than the kiss.

"She deserved it. I saw the way she was looking at you. You drove her to the party, you invited her to join your tour, you showed her around everywhere!!!"

"Listen to you!! You're accusing her of things I did! I offered to drive her, I could use her help on tour, I offered to show her around. And as for the way she looks at me, millions of other girls say things about me that are far crazier than any look Lily has ever given me!"

"I was putting up with all this, but then she agrees to kiss you, which pushes me over the edge! I'm sure she wouldn't appreciate her boyfriend kissing random girls."

"We were playing a game and that's what Carissa dared me to do! And I thought out of everyone, you'd want me kissing one of your friends since it's someone you know and trust."

This wasn't entirely true. I really liked Lily and that's why in the middle of the game I texted Carissa to dare me to do that.

"Don't give me that 'innocent speech' Shawn Peter Raul Mendes! You could have chosen to refuse and you know it."

"Faye, listen, there's something I need to tell you. This is probably not a good time, I guess it's never a good time for this-"

"What Shawn?" She sighed and crossed her arms.

"I've had an amazing summer with you, I wouldn't trade it for anything. But I don't think we're going to be good for each other in the long run. I'm going on tour soon so I'll be gone for months. I'm going to breakup with you Faye."

There, I finally said it.

Faye burst into tears, "YOU'RE DOING WHAT!?!? I LOVED YOU SHAWN!"

"I know, I'm sorry, I should have ended this sooner. I just hoped we could make this work."

"You know what, just get out. You go have your 'perfect' relationship with Lily. Let's see how long that lasts. I'll make sure to tell her that you never stay for very long."

"Faye I-"

"Get OUT!!!"

Lily's POV:

As soon as Teddy dropped me off, I raced inside to get an ice pack for my swelling cheek.

"What happened young lady?!" My mom stopped me.

"Oh, we were playing truth or dare and someone dared me to hit myself in the face with a fish." I lied and hoped for the best.

She seemed to buy it and offered to get me some Motrin. I thanked her and went upstairs. When I unlocked my phone, there were 3 messages from Shawn.

Shawn- Are you ok?
Shawn- I'm so sorry for everything that happened tonight
Shawn- I wanted to let you know that I broke up with Faye
