"Thank you Los Angeles! I love you!!" Shawn shouted as he ran off the stage.

I waited for him with a water bottle and a bag of orange slices. He came jogging over to me with a big grin on his face. I handed him the things I was holding and smiled up at him.

"That was an awesome performance. Not surprised though, you always rock them."

"Thank you hun. I love you."

"I love you too Shawn."

We walked side by side over to where the rest of the refreshments were. Since Shawn had another performance here tomorrow, there was no rush to leave. Plus his next few concerts were all in California.

Mike and Zubin came up to us with red Solo cups in their hands. "A toast!"

Shawn and I both took a cup and raised them.

"To a great performance tonight by all my buddies." Shawn cheered.

"Here here!" I concurred and bumped my cup against his and the other guys'.

"So," Mike said after taking a long swig of his drink, "Any name?"

I put a hand on my stomach and chuckled, "No, we're still not even close yet."

He nodded and smiled, "If you ever need help, just call Uncle Mike."

"Hahaha, will do." I saluted him.

After the majority of the fans had cleared out of the arena, I walked out with Teddy. No one really paid any attention to us. We met up with my friends outside.

"Oh my god, thank you again so much for upgrading our tickets!" Morgan hugged me tightly.

"Anything for my friends!!" I hugged her back.

"Let us know when you're all settled in with Noel and we can get this parry started."

"Yes ma'am."

I said goodbye to the girls and walked back towards the direction of backstage with Teddy. I was so thankful that the arena had air conditioning. Outside, it was 85 degrees, even though it was about 11pm. That's lovely California weather for you.

Before we were able to get inside, three people came walking over to us. "Lily! There you are!"

I turned to see my dad, his fiancée, and Faye all standing in front of me. You have got to be kidding me.

"What do you want dad?" I rolled my eyes.

"We came to the concert tonight, it was really good-" He started talking but I interrupted him.

"Just cut to the chase."

"Can you please unblock all of our numbers? We would like to spend some time with you."

I scoffed and looked at the people who would legally have the same last name as me in the near future. It was so obvious they were just putting up with being here. I knew they hated me.

"Um, that's a lie. She," I pointed to Faye's mom, "Thinks I'm not good enough to hang with her daughter. And she," I pointed to Faye, "Absolutely hates me."

"Sweetie, if you just clean up your look, you'd be much more presentable." Faye's mom said.

This lady has the nerve to tell me what?!

"Listen, I don't know who you pretend to be, but I'm pregnant, so cut me a little slack."

I grabbed on to Teddy's arm and pushed him in the direction of the building.

"Please Lily. Just think about it. Call me tomorrow if you want to spend some time together." My dad's voice was pleading me.

I turned to glare at him before stalking off. Once I was backstage, I went searching for Shawn. He was lying outstretched between three of the metal fold-up chairs. I came and stood above him. "I need your advice."

"Of course! What's up?"

"So my dad won't stop bugging me about spending time with him. I told him I'd think about doing it tomorrow." I explained.

"What exactly are you considering?"

"I mean, he's my dad."

"But he caused the rift in your family."

"Very true."

Shawn reached for my hand. "Maybe he just wants closure. Perhaps you should 'hang' with him, his fiancée, and Faye in order to put his mind to ease."

"It does hurt to try." I nodded and stuck out my lower lip. "I just don't know if I can bare to spend time with the other two."

Shawn let out a loud laugh and squeezed my hand. I raised an eyebrow and he sat up. "Hun, it's only for a few hours. Plus you can show them how their negativity doesn't affect you."

"But it does sometimes."

"They don't have to know that." He leaned over and kissed my cheek softly.

I sighed deeply and put my head in my hands. "Fine, I'll meet with them all tomorrow."

I went got up from where I was sitting and walked over in front of Shawn and sat down in his lap. He rested his chin in my neck and closed his eyes.

We stayed like that for a short while until Shawn and I were called to leave. Our hotel was super close to the arena so it didn't take us very long to get back.

There were about 35 fans waiting by the front doors, so Shawn took pictures with as many people as possible before Jake pulled him away. I decided to go inside with Teddy, Brian, and Vivian while he was doing that cause my feet hurt. Being seven and a half months pregnant really did a number on my fatigue levels.

After getting inside my and Shawn's hotel room, I stripped my clothes off and threw on one of Shawn's shirts I had stolen and a pair of stretchy shorts.

There were a few cans of Sprite in the mini fridge, so I popped one open for me and reclined on the king sized bed. Nothing super interesting was on the television, so I turned it off and decided to scroll through my Instagram feed.

About half an hour later, Shawn came in, breathless but smiling. "I love my fans."

"And they love you just as much, probably even more," I replied.

He went into the bathroom to change into his pajamas and came back out a few moments later. I shuffled over and made room for him next to me. We cuddled on the bed and talked about the most random things for the next few hours.

Eventually, Shawn's head lolled onto my shoulder and I turned off the light. There was a cool breeze coming from the air conditioning that helped me to fall asleep.

In the morning, I woke up before Shawn and gently shook him awake. He smiled at me and rolled out of bed. "You have your big meeting today!"

I groaned, "Don't remind me."

"You're gonna be fine, I promise. What's the worst that can happen?"

"Oh I don't know." I shrugged and sighed. "I guess the worst is that Faye and her mom make me feel worse than I already do."

"You are perfect in every way. They have nothing on you hun." Shawn blew me a kiss.

I got out of bed as well and looked around for some clothes to wear. Even though I had no need, I wanted to dress to impress. My purple romper called out to me and I decided to wear that with my black high top converse.

Shawn held my hand as I made the call. "Hi dad, it's Lily."

"Lily, thank you for calling me."

"I'd be willing to meet before Shawn's show tonight."

"Fantastic!! Shall we meet you at our favorite restaurant?"

"That's fine. I'll be there at 12:30 for lunch."

What did I just get myself in to?
