Welp, the day had finally arrived.  Friday, November 17th, Shawn's first performance.  Everyone was rushing to get ready.  I had picked out Shawn's outfit the day before.

This was going to be my first time being backstage during one of his concerts.  He offered to give me a V.I.P. pass, but I decided to stick with my all access pass, it got me more places.

Obviously I was super excited, but for some reason I was also really nervous.  Probably because Shawn and I were awkwardly friendly to one another.

I still felt like he hated me. But he appeared to have moved on, which I was glad of. He'd been dropping very subtle hints about a girl the past few days. As much as I didn't want to admit it, whoever she was is extremely lucky.

"Ok, yeah I know. Ok I promise." Shawn strolled into his dressing room while on the phone.

"Yes hun. Ok I gotta go, I'll text you after the show, bye Faye."

What the...

"Hey Shawn, who were ya talking to?" I could feel my eye twitching.

"Oh, Faye and I were thinking about getting back together."

I swear it took every fiber in my body not to scream. I get that he's hurt and trying to move on.... but to get back with the girl he had no feelings for and attacked me!?!? Uh uh, I don't think so honey.

"You sure that's a good idea? I mean you guys won't be able to see each other for a while." I tried not to sound like a psychotic person.

"It's better than being depressed I guess."

Ouch.

"Look, I'm really sorry about what I said a few days ago, I was a bit harsh," I sighed.

He started walking out of the room and muttered, "Then maybe you shouldn't have said it."

"Excuse me?!"

"You seem to still care about me."

"Yeah I do, but I'm not the one trying to get back with my ex, who assaulted the girl I obviously have feelings for."

"I'm not discussing this anymore. I'll see you at the meet and greet." He stalked away.

I broke down in tears again. I screwed up for the millionth time. I should have not said anything when we were dancing and let my emotions have their way. But no, I wanted to guard my heart cause I had gotten hurt too many times.

Any chance I would have to date Shawn was violently dumped into the trash. I ruined everything I touched. If I had the opportunity again to either give in to my love or not, I would jump for it without a doubt.

With a sigh I shook off my dark thoughts and focused on the task at hand. Shawn's meet and greet was in two hours and I had to help organize everything.

Being the curious person I was, I had to sneak a peek at the line. Needless to say, it was at least a mile long. My jaw dropped in utter surprise.

I began walking down the side of the line of fangirls and fanboys. Pretty soon, I recognized three familiar faces.  "Hannah, Josie, Teresa!"

"Oh hey Lily!!" Their eyes lit up as I ran over to them.

"How are you girls?"

"We're fantastic! So excited to meet Shawn finally!" Teresa exclaimed.

"I bet! Wow, it's so great to see you three again!"

"You too!" Hannah smiled.

"Oh, Josie. Check Shawn's wrist when you meet him," I grinned.

"Ok, why?" She looked a little puzzled.

"You'll see." As promised, Shawn put on the bracelet Josie made for him.

"It's so nice that you hang out with us, some crew members we've seen act like they're too cool for us." Hannah sighed.

"Well, I know that we're all humans and deserve equal respect."

"Quite right." They all agreed.

"Hey, I gotta get back inside to finish some stuff up. I'll see you girlies later!" I smiled and winked.

"Ok, bye Lily!"

I waved to them and walked back inside. Seeing them again was really nice, I needed that.  Ok, getting off track here, have to focus.  Man, Shawn really threw me off earlier, but I can't let him take away from my entertainment here.

Thoughts raced through my head the remainder of the time until the meet and greet.  Shawn brushed passed me with a nod and settled back in front of the big "Illuminate" banner.

"Do you want anything before I lead in the pack?"  I asked him.

"Not that I can think of, you've been perfect Lily, thank you."  He smiled and hugged me.

"Of course!  Enjoy!"  I ducked behind the curtain and hustled toward the door.

I could hear the fans talking and getting excited.  With a deep breath, I swung the door open.

"Come on in guys!!"  I welcomed in the first 15 people inside.

They all began talking loudly and at the same time.  Their excited energy transferred over to me and I got even more excited than I already was.

"Single file please, I'll take you all one by one, or in groups if you choose, to meet Shawn.  I'll try to give you all the most amount of time with him as I can."  I explained while carefully leading them toward the curtain.

I took the first girl back behind the curtain to where Shawn was and she actually fainted.  Shawn looked worried and bent down to her.  "Hun, are you ok?"

Her eyelids fluttered open, "Wow, sorry, this is not how I wanted to meet you Shawn."

"It's no problem, I just want to make sure that you're ok."

"Yeah, thank you."

The rest of the meet and greets went mostly really smoothly. Finally it was Josie, Hannah, and Teresa's turns. Josie went first. When I led her behind the curtain, her eyes lit up.

"Shawn! You're real! You're here!" She exclaimed.

"Hey! Yes I am!" He chuckled.

Then I assume she noticed his wrist because she said, "My bracelet! You're wearing the bracelet I made you!"

"Yes! You must be Josie then!"

"I-i-i am! You know my name?"

"Of course! Lily told me all about you and your sister Hannah and friend Teresa. It's a pleasure to meet you!"

"A pleasure to meet you too Shawn!"

"Shall we take a picture?"  He asked.

"Definitely!"

I heard them say their goodbyes and I ushered in Hannah.  I heard Shawn say, "Ah you must be Hannah!  It's nice to meet you!"

She squealed with joy and I could tell Shawn was smiling.  They took a picture together and I guided Teresa behind the curtain.

"Are you Teresa?"  I heard him say.

"Yes I am!"  She seemed super happy.

"An honor to meet you hun."

"You too, you're such an inspiration and I love you so much!"

"Oh thank you!  That means so much to me Teresa."

They took their picture and I escorted the next group in.  After a few hours, everyone had gotten through the line.  I was clearing some of the trash people had left behind when Shawn came out from behind the curtain.

"That was so much fun Shawn!"  I exclaimed.

"I totally agree with you."  He smiled and hugged me.

"You've made so many dreams come true today, mine included."

"Well this is something that's been my dream, so whenever I can make someone else's dream come true, it makes mine come true too."

"You almost ready for the show tonight?"

"Absolutely!  Oh, would you mind taking some videos for Faye?  I promised her a few."

I tried not to show my disappointment, "Yeah of course!"

"Thank you, you're the best."

We parted ways to finish some last minute adjustments before the show began.  I had to set out any extra clothes in case something ripped.

Pretty soon, everyone was rushing around to make sure everything was running smoothly since it was 2 minutes till showtime.

Shawn passed me with a smile and a wink.  This was going to be an awesome first performance!
