Jungkook arrived back at Rai's apartment about a half hour after they had last texted. He was coming back earlier than Rai expected, and she was trying not to panic. She had quickly run out to grab the test as promised, and was now just waiting around all anxious; Ava and Seol both trying to keep her calm. When she heard a knock at the door, she had opened it to let him in, looking at the brown bags he held in his arms.

"I will take those for you," said Seol as he came to take the bags out of Jungkook's arms.

"Thanks," said Jungkook as he began to take off the layers of his disguise and set them on the table he had earlier.

When Jungkook was done, he followed after Rai into the kitchen where he had been earlier that morning. Seol had placed the bags on the table. Jungkook moved to start digging out the food.

"I kept the veggies off and asked if they would put it in separate containers so that you could put on what you want," said Jungkook as he laid everything out.

As he finished laying everything out, Jungkook noticed that there was a rectangular box lying on the table, being able to read the words 'paternity test' written on the side.

"So you got one then?" he asked.

Rai nodded as Seol and Ava came over to the table to start making their sandwiches. Jungkook put the empty paper bag down before moving to grab the box in his hands. His eyes scanned the front of the box, looking over the words as Rai took a seat.

"Says it takes up to two days to know the results..." muttered Jungkook.

"Well, it wasn't going to be instant," spoke up Seol as he went for one of the sauce cups of mayo, "But that's okay. Isn't it?"

Jungkook nodded.

"It also says that you have to mail away the swabs," Jungkook continued as he sat at the table next to Rai, "And then they will message the results to your phone."

"I'll add my phone number to the contact information," said Rai. "You probably need to keep yours private."

"Thank you. That would be nice. Just send me a screenshot of the results when they get in...yeah?"

Rai looked over and saw Jungkook flitting his eyes nervously about the back of the package. She also noticed the small patch of dry blood underneath his nostrils.

"Are you hurt?"

Rai's question took Jungkook by surprise as he looked over at her before reaching a hand up to his nose.

"Oh, that. I'm fine. It was just an injury from dance practice."

"I didn't realize it was so dangerous," said Rai which caused a small smirk to grace Jungkook's face.

Ava - from her seat at the table - looked over at Jungkook.

"Who are we blaming?"

"Myself," said Jungkook as he turned to look at her. "I was understandably distracted by everything going on."

"Whose elbow hit that precious nose though?" asked Ava, continuing to try and press for answers.

"Ava, I think I'd give it up if I were you," said Rai.

Ava sighed as she moved to pick up her sandwich, taking a bite out of it. Jungkook chuckled at Ava's persistency.

"By the way, your text earlier was interesting," said Jungkook as he put the box down and began to unwrap a sandwich for himself. "You made me laugh out loud in the sandwich line. Everyone thought I was crazy."

"At least you appreciate my humor unlike some people," said Ava as she shot a teasing look at Rai.

"Hey, I appreciate it too!" said Rai in a chuckling defense as a slice of lettuce was flicked her way.

"For the record, I do too Auntie Ava!" piped up Seol.

Laughter filled the air as the four of them ate together like a big old family for the first time.

After they ate, Ava helped Rai, Jungkook, and Seol figure out how to take the necessary samples for the kit before helping them make sure it was packaged correctly in order to be mailed off.

"Two days isn't bad," said Ava as Seol jogged out of the apartment to go drop it in the mail box at the end of the street.

"No, not bad," agreed Jungkook as he sat on the couch in front of the television set.

Rai was standing a few feet away, looking at the empty spot on the couch beside Jungkook. When Rai looked up, she saw that Ava was nodding her head towards the couch trying to tell her to sit. Jungkook turned his head to look at Rai, oblivious to Ava's coaching. He still looked just as nervous as he did before.

"You can sit you know. It is your couch. If it makes you uncomfortable to sit next to me, I can get up," said Jungkook, moving to do so.

"No...no...you are fine," said Rai with a light blush to her cheeks as she moved to sit down on the couch; Jungkook settling back down beside her.

Ava watched the two of them sit next to each other. Each of them sat as if they had a metal rod shoved up their back; a small gap of space existing between the two of them charged with the most awkward tension imaginable. Ava desperately wanted to say 'just kiss her already' or something, but she was still trying to wrap her mind around the whole situation.

When Seol returned, he too noticed the awkward tension that existed between Jungkook and Rai. The television had been flicked on by Ava as an attempted ice breaker, but even that was resulting in next to no conversation. Seol looked at the two of them for a moment before entering the kitchen where Ava was.

"Why won't they talk to each other?" asked Seol. "They obviously fell in love before me. You'd think there would be some sort of connection."

"There's nothing saying there isn't," said Ava as she looked at Seol, "But as you said, they fell in love before you. The way they fell before will not be the same way they fall now. Besides, Rai has had a crush on Jungkook for the longest time, so to think that she and him end up together...it's a lot to process. This all is for the both of them. We just have to give them time and be patient until then."

"I'm not very patient," said Seol.

"You sound like your parents," said Ava with a chuckle.

"Isn't there something we can do to help break the ice between them?"

"Like what?"

Seol chewed his lower lip as he turned to look at his parents in the other room, seeing that not a lot had changed. There had to be something that he could do. The big question was just, what was it?
