25-Little Mix Up

*Nate's Perspective*
I fell out of it. I no longer felt little. Seeing my big brother in the state he was, broke me. I was now big Nate, waiting for his bigger brother to wake up. It'd been a few days since he had been found, and we were all very worried. The only bright side was that I finally met Josh's boyfriend, James Bree Clark . He wasn't half bad looking either, not that I was really looking at him since my brother was more important.
From the other room I could hear Marcus talking to the doctor. I could tell he was on the verge of tears and it made me want to burst out right there, but I knew I'd probably get in trouble for eavesdropping. That was a new rule that was added a few weeks before the incident. "I'm going to find who did this, I swear they are going to pay," I head Tim say in our bedroom, clearly punching something and I hope it was just a pillow. I began to feel stressed again, sitting next to Mathew and laying against his shoulder. He said nothing, kissing my head before going back to reading whatever he was reading on his phone. I tried to peak over, but he turned it away every time. What was he hiding? Suppose it doesn't matter. Everything has gone down hill since Joshua was sent to the hospital. The worst part? We might not be able to pay for it. What was going to happen to us? Although I hid it well, I was scared.

*Lukas's Perspective*
I grab my bag and walk to the living room. "I'm heading out, will be back in a few hours," I said, though I knew that no one cared, it was just one of the rules I follow out of habit, though I stopped telling them where I was going. I sighed as I walked down to my friend's house. It was a girl's house, but we were just friends, nothing more despite what her parents think. "Luke!" Bailee hugged me. It'd been a total of three weeks since last time we spoke, but it's felt like forever. Where has the time gone? "So what brings you here?" She asked as she rocked on her heels. "I need a ride," I sighed. "To where? Another emergence McDonald's run?" She joked. "Actually uh...I-I need to be taken to the hospital," I told her. Her eyes widened with concern. "The hospital?! What happened? What hurts?" Man I love how caring she was. "No no, not me Bails, it's Josh, he got jumped the other night and I'm really concerned about him," I told her as I played with my fingers, my bangs falling in my face. "Sure thing, get in," she said as she went to get her keys with a poodle key charm on it. (Bailee above.) I was glad she didn't ask anymore questions as we got in the corner. "Mind if we take that emergency trip to McDonald's first?" I asked her. "Only if you pay," she teased as she pulled out. "Sure, maybe get Joshua a happy meal, he could use it," I tell her. She nodded and went to the McDonald that was a few blocks from her house. After getting food, we visit Josh, though we had to wait a bit since James was in there and it's be rude to interrupt them. As I peaked in from the window that framed the door, I saw something strange. Josh was hugging a dinosaur stuffie, looking all excited about it.

What was that about? Why is he acting all strange? Did he have a concussion? We decide to go in a few minutes after since there were no signs of him leaving. "Hey Joshy, we brought you some food," I sat the happy meal down as he blushed deeply, turning away. "Baby, it's okay," James gently rubbed his back. "Is he alright?" Bailee asked James. "Uh..yeah, he's just embarrassed by his bruises and bandages James said, hardly remaining  eye contact. That's when I realize, I'm Kinda dumb. Joshua had developed a different relationship with James. Josh was a little. This completely blew my mind since I've always looked up to Josh, thinking he was all big and mighty, never imagining him taking on such a vulnerable state. I knew he was embarrassed of it, I mean...most people would. "Well I think we should go then," I said, knowing Bailee probably wouldn't understand. "Thank...you," Joshua managed to mutter. I simply nodded and left with Bailee. "That was uh...awkward," she said as she followed me back to the car. "A little," I said as I got in.

*Josh's Perspective*
My life was over. I can't believe I had been so stupid. Luke knows. He's going to tell our brothers. I don't want them to know. I don't want them to baby me. I only wanted my daddy, James. "awe, look little prince, they got you a happy meal," he cooed, knowing he was just trying to cheer me up. It kinda worked. I reached out for it, happily starting to eat the chicken nuggets. Yummy! "Careful baby," he said, which he always did when I'm little. He's a cautious caregiver, but also is a bit loose. It's scary when he gets mad. I Don't like him mad. "Otay," I said as I slowly ate my chicken. "Is it good?" He asked. "Yummy," I nodded with my mouth full. I knew I wasn't allowed the toy until after I'm done eating which makes me all sad and want to eat faster. I hope I get a dinosaur! Or maybe a transformer! I get all excited over the toy as I ate. "How you feeling?" He asked as he got the juice box for me. "I's otay," I said as I sipped it. This makes my day way better. I just hope Luke doesn't tell anyone. I'm scared.
