Chapter 9, Brief Relief
Cuphead's Perspective
After a whole other day of waiting for Bendy to recover and get medical attention, We had packed our bags and I had paid for the hotel rooms. Honestly I should have done this in the first place. Now I was in the group of strange individuals, playing with Jackpot happily. I still hadn't gotten it out of my mind, even if Bendy was obviously joking. Boyfriend? Boyfriend in the sense that I pay for everything now? Or.. Boyfriend??? I don't know where to begin. I glanced over at the content demon, seeing him suddenly return the gaze. I looked away immediately and went back to playing with Jackpot. I can't talk to Bendy in a group about that stuff, it's weird. Besides. Social anxiety for me is pretty severe. I kept playing with the tiny poof-ball, petting him and letting him try to attack my gloved hand. I almost jumped in surprise when I was suddenly tapped on the shoulder. I looked over, or well, down, and met eyes with the midget. "Sup midget?" I asked curiously, also feeling a nervous tingle in my mind. Bendy didn't say anything and just latched onto my arm, affectionately nuzzling it and purring. Bendy has been acting so strange lately, so out of character. "Bends seriously, why are you so weird?" I asked and pulled away my arm. He looked up at me with kitty eyes that were big and shiny and upset. He slinked away and I shook my head. He's such a weird demon, I never know what to expect from him. After traveling for a while, I felt a raindrop hit my forehead. A sudden dump of rain sprayed down from the heavens. I got doused immediately and my eyes darted around for shelter. I groaned and found an overhang. I quickly rushed over, being followed by every other drenched person in the group. I angrily sat in the corner, shivering and gently drying off the soaked kitty. Mugs snuggled up to me and shook, feeling very cold and wet. I helped him take off his wet clothing and wrapped him up in my spare jacket. I then took off my clothes and held Mugman in my arms to keep both of us warm. I looked over his shoulder and saw bendy shuddered and curled up on the floor. I averted my gaze and rubbed Mug's back. "Just relax, it'll be alright." I comforted him, feeling him jump out of his porcelain-skin when thunder boomed through the air. "It's okay Muggy, just relax." I whispered, slowly rocking him in my arms. He snuggled up to me and whimpered. I comforted him and rubbed the back of his head. I held him tightly and slowly rubbed his back. "It's okay Mugs, I love you so much, and I'm here for you." I told him warmly. He nodded and relaxed, hugging me.
"I love you too Cuppy." He said and smiled. I smiled in return and rested my head on his shoulder. "Even if you're stubborn." He added and playfully poked my cheek. I grinned and held him closer. "If I wasn't stubborn, then I'd be too perfect." I joked and confidently flexed. He laughed and shook his head. "Oh Cuphead, you're so silly." He said and gently stroked my gel hair. I leaned into his warm porcelain hand and closed my eyes, relaxing. Mugs' touch has always reminded me of mother's. So gentle and loving, and he's kind just like mother. He's almost exactly like mother was.. A small warm tear slid down my cold cheek and I opened one eye to look at Mugman. "Sorry for crying a bit bro, couldn't resist. Your touch is.. Amazing." I said softly, causing him to blush and smile. "That's sweet Cup, I didn't know that." He said while gently wiping away my tear. "Mmmm- nappy time-." I said and then slumped down onto him, falling asleep on his shoulder. I slowly drifted into a different world, feeling a soft and small stroking on my cheek. More textures surrounded me, a soft and large blanket, a comfortable and plush pillow, and a small body touching mine. I opened my eyes, feeling hazy and sleepy. My gaze followed the hand down back to the owner, whom I did not expect. Bendy, adorned in many jewels and fine silks, was laying close to me and petting my cheek with an adorned hand. I leaned closer to the nice feeling, which meant closer and closer to the tiny demon holding my attention. He parted his pastel lips slightly and blushed, as if preparing to be kissed. I wanted to speak, but was at a loss for words. The soothing feeling made my mind numb and loose, as if I was honey slowly pouring down from a jar. I felt sticky and soft and melt-y, loose and relaxed completely. Nothing could feel better than this. I leaned closer to the bejeweled demon, parting my lips as well. It felt strangely natural, answering his vague request of a kiss. Soon all I could feel was my eyes closing on their own, and Bendy's smaller lips gently pressing against mine. It felt like a calm form of pure ecstasy to me, like I was incredibly high at that moment. Something went off in my brain that had triggered this soothing and mysterious feeling, and I wanted nothing at that moment. I could feel a delicate pair of wings wrap around me loosely, as if protecting me in this rather vulnerable state. I forced myself to open my eyes just a little and saw that Bendy had angel's wings. He was staring up at me with large crimson orbs that made me calmer than even before. He purred in a low tone and smiled softly. "Ben-." He cut me off by placing a soft finger on my lips. He then cupped my cheeks and stared curiously at me with his alluring eyes, still purring. I couldn't think of anything but his eyes that kept me in a trance, numbing my mind and keeping me speechless. He then coughed quietly and faltered from his peaceful act, covering his mouth. He shook slightly and looked up at me fearfully, his pupils wide and scared.
I held him protectively and slowly stroked his back, his retracted wings brushing against my hand. "It's all going to be okay." I whispered to him, watching as inky blood dripped from his mouth. He shook violently and coughed uncontrollably, choking and wheezing, gasping for air. I began to panic internally, once so calm and happy. He gripped my shirt tightly and screeched in pain, crying obnoxiously. "Bendy- bendy- Bendy wait- b-." I stopped as a familiar same liquid slipped from my lip. What? No, it isn't possible. I looked down and watched in terror as more ink began escaping my mouth, soon gushing and overwhelming my body. My vision became blurry and I felt very lightheaded as I desperately gasped for air, hitting the ground. I could barely feel it, it was as if my body was becoming empty. I unwillingly closed my eyes and felt a hand slap me violently. I then shot up, awake within the second. I was greeted by an annoyed midget who seemed impatient. "Cuphead you idiot, is there anything that can wake you up?"
