THE CONCERT

The friends stood in the driveway of Eric's house. Babe had already sat inside the Cruiser and was patiently waiting for the rest, Eric was checking something on the car and Donna and Kelso were about to begin a fight. Kelso opened up the passenger side door as Donna was about to.

"Kelso that's sweet." Donna said surprised. 

"Actually, I'm riding shotgun," Kelso stated.

"No you're not!" Donna exclaimed.

"Well, I'm not riding in the back!" Kelso objected, Eric got in the car.

"Why don't we let Eric decide?" Donna asked.

"This is going to be good." Babe said with a smirk.

"Eric?" Kelso called out to the boy.

"Kelso—" Eric said as Kelso immediately started to get in pushing Donna out of the way. "Get in the back." Eric finished making Kelso fall.

Donna sat in the front seat smirking at Kelso.  Kelso opened the car door and got in with a pout. Babe laughed at him, making him frown and pinch her arm. Babe stopped laughing and punched his arm. The two of them began play-fighting in the back.

Red came up to the car and glared at the two teens in the back making them stop and look shamefully to the front.

"Taking her for a spin, eh?"  Red questioned.

"Yes sir." Eric answered. 

"Well have a good time." Red smiled, before he remembered something. "Oh, one more thing about the car. She's old, so no trips out of town. Ever. Understood? Well have fun!" He said patting the car before leaving.

"Well I guess that's that." Eric said defeated. 

"Eric, do you want to go?" Donna asked, Eric stared at her dumbfounded.

"He said no trips out of town!"

"It's your car. Do you want to go?" Donna asked again. 

"But he's God!" Eric expressed overwhelmed.

"Then God would want us to go to Milwaukee!" Kelso told him. 

"You are a 16 year old man—" Donna started but couldn't finish.

"Boy." Babe coughed into her fist, making Kelso laugh before he turned back into his serious expression.

"I'm gonna go with whatever you say." Donna continued, ignoring Babe's comment secretly amused. "It's your decision."

"It is my decision. And my decision is—we're going to a Concert!" Eric turned the keys in the ignition and the teens cheered. Babe didn't really care about Red's rules seeing as she wasn't going to get scolded for disobeying.

"Yeah!" Kelso cheered before he punched Babe in the shoulder.

"Ouch." She yelped, kicking his leg and moving away from him.

"I won." He muttered after a while.

"I'm telling you we are out of gas!" Kelso insisted. 

"We're not out of gas!" Eric replied. The group stood at an old gas station and repair spot.

Hyde childishly bit on the straw in his soda. Jackie and Babe inside the car. As Donna stood outside leaning against the car.

"It's the battery. It's six years old and shot to hell." The mechanic explained as he came around the side of the car. 

"You know what? I'll just call my dad." Jackie said getting out of the car Babe behind her, Jackie threw her hands in the air in defeat.

"Kelso tell her." Eric said pointing at Jackie. 

"He can't take the car out of town." Kelso told her. 

"I'm not calling his dad."  Jackie explained.

"Jackie, parents talk to each other. About how we screw up." Hyde mocked, making Babe keep in a laugh that wanted to escape. Hyde walked over to Babe and swung his arm over her shoulders.

"Why would they talk about that?" 

"They can't help it." Eric started to explain. "Say there's a party..."

The boys, except Fez, started to impersonate different parents. At the end all of them with Donna and Babe too, excluding Jackie started to hustle making them look ridiculous as Jackie just stared at them.

"Guys, we are in the middle of nowhere and I have to go to the ladies' room." Jackie complained and went to grab her purse, picking up Babe's too. Babe walked away from the group following Jackie. Who stopped and turned around. "Donna!" Donna instantly followed them.

As the trio made their way to the bathroom, Babe turned to stare at Donna with a smirk. Making her glare at Babe, who giggled.

Once they had reached the bathroom. Donna washed her hands trying to get the water to drown Jackie's incessant yapping about Kelso out. Babe fixed her hair and makeup, listening to Jackie rant.

Sure they weren't the best of friends and Babe didn't really know how to express or deal with emotions, but she always offered to listen to her friends if they needed it and even though Jackie was more of an acquaintance she listened to what she had to say.

"Who doesn't invite their girlfriend?" Jackie asked to no one, exasperated.

Donna stared at Babe through the bathroom glass with wide eyes, but Babe ignored her and smiled. Fixing her lipgloss in the process.

"Okay that's enough for now." Jackie said, she flipped her hair on her shoulder and walked out of the bathroom leaving Donna and Babe behind.

"Kill me now." Donna said, Babe laughed.

"Donna! Everly!" Jackie yelled at the two, they instantly left the bathroom quickly.

The girls got back to the car and the mechanic was putting a new battery in the car. Impressed Babe turned to Eric.

"How did you guys manage to get a new battery?" Babe asked him, as Donna nodded confused.

"Gave away two tickets." Eric replied. 

"Whose?" Jackie asked with a glare. 

"Yours and Kelso." Hyde answered with a joyful smile. 

"Well I guess it's not so bad." Babe smirked "You guys can have fun in Eric's car." She told the younger girl, who smiled and grabbed Kelso's hand dragging him inside the car.

"Not cool Babe." Eric said as Hyde and Babe high-fived.

The gang finally made it to the concert. They swayed from side to side while holding their lighters in the air, as they sang along to the music. Fez looked next to him where the Mechanic stood with his date and looked back at the group.

"Hey guys! Randy's date is a man." He told the group.

"I'm ok with it," Donna shrugged. 

"We are so cool for being ok with it!" Eric said excitedly.

"It doesn't make us 'cool', it makes us decent human beings." Babe replied, Eric nodded along with her.

Babe tuned the rest of the conversation out, focusing on the music. Hyde turned to look at her and smiled, while she returned it.

"Enjoying yourself?" He asked.

"You betcha." He laughed and threw an arm around her shoulder as they swayed alongside their friends to the music.
