Chapter 29: Friendzoned

Chapter 29:
Friendzoned

Harry could have noticed that uneasiness all along. Today is Harry's third day here, in another dimension, perhaps? He has no idea. There were no family problems, no parents, no Gemma, no Zayn, no Niall, no Liam, no Louis, no Casey and nothing else that had been bothering Harry's mind.

There's only Harry and all this strangeness. But there was one thing that kept the man sane: Babe's presence around him.

"Has Jacob called you? I can't reach him. His number is inactive." T started to talk, looking very worried.

Today is currently Sunday. Jack made an appointment with T, but he also stupidly invites Harry to go out together. Perhaps he has one goal: he doesn't want Harry around her that much and he's probably afraid that Harry will replace him. Harry didn't mind at all, he frankly doesn't really care about his grades right now. And dating T? That's all Harry could ever ask for.

"If he doesn't come in ten minutes, how about we go in first? I mean, we've been waiting for him for over an hour. Maybe he's still busy with. . . um, the thesis?" Harry reasoned. Silently wishing T had forgotten his promise with Jack and wanted to have some fun with her.

T lowered his head and sighed. Although, Harry was glad that Jack had a low chance of coming, Harry hated seeing a T like this. Grieving for a man who doesn't deserve her at all.

Harry didn't know what to do to make T cheer up again. When he first met her earlier, she looked very happy and couldn't stop talking about how romantic Jacob Muller was.

I can do more than that jerk.

"Alright, looks like it's fine if we play first. You must be tired of accompanying me waiting for Jacob, right? " T looked up and smiled faintly. Harry hated the fact that T was only looking at Jack on the positive side, never wanting to know about his motives for approaching her.

T got up from the park bench and took Harry's hand. Her smile widened. "I hope you won't scream in fear while we ride the roller coaster."

Harry rose to his feet and raised an eyebrow. Every now and then he glanced at T's hand that was holding his hand.

"Dare to bet?" Harry challenged.

T smiled crookedly. "If you say so, one ice cream if you scream on the roller coaster."

"Only ice cream?"

T thought for a moment before continuing, "You also have to pay for tickets for all the rides I want to ride."

Harry chuckled with amusement. "Even without the bet, I'll still pay for everything, Babe. I wouldn't want to make an impression where I don't pay for everything when I go out on a date with a pretty girl like you."

T rolled her eyes. "But this isn't a date."

Harry pursed his lips. "Yes, I understand. You just keep on putting our relationship in the friend zone."

T laughed and smacked Harry's arm. "You're dramatizing things, Haz. Never mind. Let's have fun!"

Then, T pulled Harry's hand to enter the playground area. Harry smiled faintly.

Harry also went on dates at amusement parks with his previous exes. But for this time, somehow Harry was very excited. The first ride the two of them rode was a roller coaster. Before riding the roller coaster, Harry had time to find T who repeatedly inhaled and exhaled. Harry laughed with amusement.

"You challenged me, but you're afraid yourself, Babe. "

T pursed her lips. "I'm not afraid! It's just. . . well, a little nervous. The last time I rode a roller coaster was five years ago."

"Jack never took you to the amusement park?" Harry asked in a surprised tone.

The two of them walked towards the roller coaster and rode it, at the same time. They sit side by side. Harry helps T put on her seat belt even though, there were assistants who will help T.

"Jacob never took me to the amusement park. When he called me last night and said he'll take me to the amusement park, I was very happy. So far, we only go out on dates to restaurants or cafes. Jacob said he didn't like crowds." T answered Harry's question with a faint smile.

Harry already knew the reason behind it and he almost shook his head disapprovingly. He's stupid if he doesn't want to show off you as his lover to the world.

"How do you feel? Afraid?" Harry asked, changing the conversation and T sighed.

T shook her head and Harry chuckled. "Give me your hand, Taytay."

This is the first time Harry has called T as Taytay and Harry likes it. Taytay and Babe. T raised an eyebrow. "What for?"

Harry smiled. "I'm not afraid and I want to convey my fearlessness to you."

T rolled her eyes. "I'm also not afraid just nervous!"

Harry chuckled with amusement. You stubborn thing!

But finally T gave up and gave Harry her hand for him to hold. Shortly thereafter, the roller coaster sets off to make the move.

"You'll be fine, take it easy." Harry said the words softly and T responded with a sincere smile.

Before long, the roller coaster started moving, causing everyone on board to scream out loud. But not with Harry and T, who were even busy staring at each other while laughing out loud.

After the roller coaster came to a stop, the two of them were still laughing at each other while walking towards the photobooth to see the camera shots as they rode the roller coaster.

Their laughter had stopped because they were busy looking for their photos, but they didn't last long, they laughed out loud when they saw their photos.

"Jeez, Haz! Your mouth is open too wide! " T said with a laugh.

"And your eyes are closed. Why are you sleeping, Babe?"

The two are still laughing, debating who has the most ridiculous face in their photo as they walk off the roller coaster. Shortly after leaving, T's cell phone vibrated, indicating an incoming message. Harry stood while waiting, as the girl read the incoming message. Harry looked at T in detail from head to toe.

That girl looks very beautiful today, no she always looks pretty. She has a proportional body, tall and slim. Her hair is brownish blonde that reaches and stops on her collar bone. Her eyes are sharp like a cat, with blue eyes that are bright as the blue sky. A pointed nose, and her red lips that. . . damn. Today she wore a spring dress with a light cream colored cardigan.

"Jacob can't come. He said he was busy looking for additions to his thesis." T said in a disappointed tone. Harry sighed. That bastard.

Harry smiled before taking T's hand, inviting the girl to return to have fun on another ride. T only obeyed even though the girl was silent.

"How about the Ferris wheel? Are you up for it? I want to see all of Los Angeles from up there." Harry said and T slightly rolled her eyes.

"Like you've never seen Los Angeles before. You've lived here long enough, Haz." T stopped in her tracks, making Harry also stop his footsteps.

Harry sighed. "I don't know what to do. You must be really wishing Jack was here, right? You really don't want my presence? I'm just your friend, right?"

T squinted and shook her head. "That's not it, Haz. It's just—"

"I'll take you home. Or do you want to go home alone?" Harry's resigned question made T hold her breath and shook her head again.

T took Harry's hand and a smile began to bloom on the girl's lips. "Not yet. We've only tried one ride, you idiot! There are still lots of rides we need to go on and hey, we have to go to the photobooth!"

Harry just smiled faintly and obeyed when T pulled his hand towards the photobooth which wasn't too far from where they are.
