Chapter 17: Disforced
Chapter 17:
Disforced
After not returning home for a week, today, he decided to go home. Harry returns late in the evening, having finished talking with Zayn and Liam. Now, Harry's mind is filled with words of his two friends, especially Zayn's words.
"That. . . it's not just a mannequin."
A simple sentence, yet successfully made Harry confused. All this time, Harry had just sat on the edge of the bed, occasionally asking himself. Harry hesitated. Harry is confused. If she's not a mannequin, then what? Humans are also very doubtful. Is she a fairy? Or an angel? Or even a robot? But that's absolutely impossible.
Questions like that deeply bothered Harry's mind. Why did Harry have to care about that girl so much?
No, I'm never going to fall for a mannequin!
Harry kept trying to refute all the foreign words that came to his mind, asking him to be blunt. All of Harry's thoughts were shattered when he heard a knock on the door. Harry immediately opened the door to his room and found his mother who was standing there, smiling at him.
"Take a shower. I've prepared dinner for all of us."
Harry nodded. "Alright, give me a few minutes. I'll be ready."
"We're waiting for you. Hurry up, got it? " Anne's threat made Harry chuckle.
"Aye-aye, Captain!"
After that, Anne walked away and Harry closed the bedroom door. The young man took a T-shirt and sweats before going into the bathroom, taking a shower.
Well, Harry hasn't showered in almost a week. Every morning, he would just change his clothes in the car, wash his face while brushing his teeth and sprayed as much perfume as possible on his body. Even if you haven't taken a shower, as long as you're fragrant, you're good to go. . . at least that's what Harry thinks.
Dinner didn't go the way it should have been. Harry did not expect that his mother would bring Robin to have dinner with their family, a family that might soon be torn apart.
"Hold on, Harry. You don't want to make mum sad, do you? If mum is sad, dad will be sad too. " Gemma whispered when Harry had made a retreating attitude.
Finally, Harry could only obey and remain silent. Anne also continued to look at her son with a pleading look. As a result, they ate in silence and awkwardness with each other. It was only moments after everyone had finished eating that Des spoke up, staring at Gemma and Harry, before smiling at Anne and Robin.
"Gemma, Harry, there's something your mother and I have to tell you at this point." Gemma's attention was focused on their father while Harry could only lower his head. Harry knew what direction this conversation would lead.
Anne sighed before continuing Des's words. " Des and I are officially divorced, since yesterday. We divorced well―, ”
"If you were both fine, you wouldn't get divorce." Harry cut off Anne coldly.
Before they could continue their conversation, Harry had risen to his feet and stepped away from the dining room. Gemma was about to get up and catch up with her younger brother, but Des held Gemma's arm.
"Let me talk to him."
Des got up and walked up the stairs, following Harry into his room. Luckily, Harry did not lock the door to his room and Des was able to enter easily. Des sighed when he found his son sitting on the edge of the bed, lowering his head.
“If you love mum, you won't agree to this divorce. You'll fight to win her heart back." Harry said quite loudly, without looking up.
Des was silent before approaching him. The middle-aged man sat beside Harry, embracing his son with great affection. “I love your mother, Harry. I love her very much. I've always wanted to make her happy. " A faint smile appeared on Des' lips and Harry did not respond.
Des continued. “I was too stupid, thinking that if I had a big company and a lot of money, that would make your mother happy. Until I realized how wrong and stupid that thought was. "
Again, Des sighed and Harry raised his gloomy face. Harry looked closely at his father. His father is a hard worker. He was able to build a small company, to be as big as it is now.
"So, in my opinion, it's not Anne's fault if our relationship ends. I'm often out of town, and even abroad. I rarely spend time for Anne. . . and for you and Gemma. I understand now, that we had to come to an end." Des smiled slightly, even though he didn't really smile. His heart ached, for sure. But what else can he say?
Des patted Harry slowly on the back and continued, “Therefore, when Styles Enterprise becomes your responsibility, I won't force you to work too hard. When you already found and have your special girl, who is willing to accept all your strengths and weaknesses, take care of her well. Spend more of your time with her. Make her feel special, like a queen. Don't ever. . . never make her look away. Make her hold on, until she has no reason to turn away. Don't let your regrets come in the end. "
This is the longest speech Des has ever said and successfully keeps Harry silent. Des returned to pat Harry on the back, with a faint smile on his lips. "I've talked with Robin. He's a nice guy, believe me. One day, you will definitely know why your mother chose that man. "
Des rose to his feet and Harry's eyes continued to follow his father. “Get some rest. Clear your mind. Tomorrow, meet your mother and Robin, apologize to them. Tomorrow, they will also move into their house." Des sighed. It was obvious that he too had a hard time letting go of Anne.
"Good night and sweet dreams, Harold." Des said before stepping out of Harry's room, closing the door slowly.
"Sweet dreams to you too, Dad." Harry said back just as the door to his room had closed.

The dark evening sky was lit up with full of shimmering stars. Tonight, Zayn visited the Payton's family home, he had to meet them for the girl that he has been dating for almost two weeks.
Zayn and Giselle sat on a swing in the backyard of Giselle's house, staring at the stars in awe. Zayn turned his head, looked at Giselle who was looking up, staring at the stars while occasionally smiling broadly. Without realizing it, Zayn smiled too. Her happiness is his happiness.
"Stop looking at me like that, Zayn." Giselle's voice made Zayn chuckle. Not long after, Giselle turned her head and pursed her lips.
"You're so annoying," Giselle said which made Zayn stop.
Zayn smiled at his sullen girl. "Well, I already know that I'm annoying, why are you still with me?"
Zayn's question made Giselle silent, bowing her head in embarrassment. Zayn snickered again and Giselle smiled.
“By the way, do you have any friends who are still single, Gi? Someone who's beautiful and also kindhearted." Zayn suddenly said, making Giselle turn her head and glare at him.
Before Giselle had time to reply, Zayn quickly shook his head. "No, it's not for me. I already have you. How can I look for someone better when you're already the best? ” Again, Giselle's cheeks turned red at Zayn's comment.
"For who then?" Giselle asked, trying to get over her nervousness.
Zayn sighed. "For my friend. The story is long and so strange, maybe you shouldn't hear it. Anyway, I want him to turn back into his old self. Him being a playboy is fine, rather than being lured by. . . with something that isn't real. "
Giselle raised an eyebrow. "I don't understand. Something that isn't real?"
Zayn smiled. His hands moved to ruffle Giselle's hair as he said, “You wouldn't believe it, Gi. Never mind, just tell me do you have a friend that's a match for my friend? "
"Wait. Which friend of yours? Liam? Louis? Nei―"
"His name is Niall, Gi. He'll be furious if someone pronounces his name wrong. " Zayn corrected quickly, before chuckling with amusement at Giselle's expression.
"Harry. It's for Harry. Do you think any of your friends are a good match for him? ” Zayn asked quickly to get to the point.
Giselle seemed to be in deep thought, before smiling broadly. "I know someone! Hey, how about you take him to my college prom in two weeks? I'll introduce him to my best friend." Giselle said very cheerfully and Zayn nodded quickly.
"Alright, I'll force him to come."
