It was weeks, months even of Wooyoung laying around. The room was dark. His breathing became heavier and heavier. It's been hard since San left. He's tried to move on. he tried to go to work. he tried to forget. He had been on dates but he couldn't get passed the fact that San was gone.
He stopped going to work. He never bothered to call out. He had turned his phone off not wanting to talk to anyone or see the lock screen of his smiling boyfriend pop up when he received a notification. He ignored the knocks on his door. He ignored the bills piling up in his mailbox. He ignored the one too many notices showing up on his door.
He's been in the same position for weeks. He didn't bother to change knowing he would see sans clothes. He refused to shower, knowing that was the area that had been marked as a trauma. He only got up to use the bathroom. His greasy bangs were stiff against his forehead. His bedhead getting messier and messier. He had refused to look at himself. When he did catch glimpses he only saw a stranger. He was too thin, his eyes were puffy and dark. His cheeks were hallowed and his cheekbones were now prominent. He would cry and cry, he would lose his breath and try to take deep breaths, but he found taking in a deep breath difficult.
He headed back to the guest room to lie down. He hasn't been in his and Sans room since the night San had left. He couldn't handle sans scent stained on the pillows or the feeling of his body imprint on the mattress due to all the lazy days they've had, the endless movie nights cuddled next to each other. He closed his eyes falling asleep.
___
He had woken up hours later experiencing chest pains. He lay on his side as he stared straight at the door hoping San would come in and tell him it'll be okay.
The pain had risen. Something he's never felt. He grits his teeth and hiss in pain, grabbing onto his chest hoping it would stop.
"This is it," he told himself. He removed his hand slowly at the realization of what was happening. He laid on his back allowing the pain to increase.
"I'll be there soon San."
___
When he had awoken it was now 3 am. He looked around to see the same old surroundings. He screamed and cried thrashing around the bed in anger. He wasn't supposed to be here. He quickly stood up but immediately fell due to dizziness. The chest pains had come back stronger than last time. He couldn't get himself up. He felt too weak and his leg was starting to hurt.
He crawled his way to the bathroom. He's given up this was it? He placed himself inside the bathtub where he had found San that night weeks ago. "I'm on my-" but he was cut off by himself when suddenly he couldn't take in oxygen. He assumed he had moved too much and his body couldn't handle it. He smiled one last time knowing he'd see his San soon.
"I love you"
_______________
It is possible to die of a broken heart.
Traumatic life events such as the death of a loved one, a physical injury, or even an emotional memory can cause "broken heart syndrome."
The syndrome occurs when a surge of stress hormones causes short-term heart muscle failure.
The condition is usually treatable, but it can be fatal.
