*** Karis' POV***

"Finn, you're too much." I giggle as he re-enacts Rex walking away. Finn's hips sway like a runway model.

"Babe. Keep on. You won't be touching these hips for a month." Rex comes back; he winks at me.

"Yeah. I have heard that before." Finn walks around the bar. He grabs Rex before planting kisses on the man's neck. Rex stretches his arm over his head. Rex cages Finn's mouth to his flesh.

"Don't make me hold out on you, please." Rex turns around to wrap his arms around his husband. He throws him a serious case of puppy eyes.

"Awe." I throw my hands over my mouth. Their too fucking precious.

"Don't encourage him." Vance groans beside me.

"Don't pull that shit on me Rex. I will take you upstairs, tie you down and fuck your brains out." Finn glares at a pouty Rex.

"Do you promise?" Rex bats his eyelashes before winking at Finn.

"You two are members here?" I ask. It's not surprising.

"Yep." Rex takes a seat behind the bar. Finn picks him up then sets him in his lap. Rex leans back on his husband's chest.

"Who's the dominant?" I ask naively.

"Daddy is." Rex points to Finn. Finn drops a kiss on his nose.

"Don't you forget it." Finn smiles. Rex blushes.

"You interested in becoming a member?" Finn looks at me; I giggle when he waggles his brows.

"Um. I. Uh." I turn my face into Vance's chest. He cups my face to bring me up to his eyes. He kisses my lips softly.

"She will be." Vance nods at me while I bite my lip.

"She's so shy. Karis you're dreamy." Finn stares at me adoringly.

"I'm just not used to this, yet." I offer.

"It grows on you. Either you like it or you don't. You're still here after going to the play room. So, I'm going to say it will become your favorite place to be." Rex claps his hands, leaning forward to reach out to hold my hand.

"Rex." Vance grounds out in a warning tone.

"Sorry, Alpha. Didn't know I couldn't be friends." Rex pouts again. He hides in his husband's chest.

"We can be friends." I reach out to take Rex's hand. I rub it soothingly.

"Best friends. We can go shopping. Have our nails done. Oh Daddy, please tell me yes." Rex kisses Finn all over his face.

"You know I'm not going to deny you." Finn cups Rex's face, placing a kiss on his lips.

"Why does he call you Alpha?" I ask of Vance.

"Because he's an ass." Vance smirks at me. I giggle.

"Because he's the top Daddy here. I already have one so I can't call him that." Rex gives me a duh tone.

"Ah. Gotcha." I nod in acceptance.

"You can call him Daddy though. He would love that." Finn chuckles while making his advisement.

"You two are going to make her run away." Vance rolls his eyes.

"If you're Daddy, what am I?" I flutter my eyelashes. I run my hand down his defined chest.

"Ah shit!" Rex jumps up and spins around before landing his elbows on the bar. He props his chin on his hands.

"A minx." Vance growls and pulls me into his lap. I wrap my arms around him, throwing my head back with laughter.

"Whatever you say, Daddy." I purr the word out and smile at the sex god.

"Keep on baby girl. I will have you tied to that bench on stage, fucking you breathless." Vance turns us toward the stage.

"In front of these two?" I gasp as I look at Finn and Rex.

"Of course not." Vance smiles evilly. I breathe a sigh of relief. "The whole club would be full of people watching you gush for me."

His words cause my breath to hitch. I pick up my drink and gulp it down. I gesture with my hand for Rex to make me another.

"I guess I will stick to Vance." I take another sip of my drink.

"Oh no. You will call me Daddy. But, I will wait until you are ready for the beast that is going to unleash." Vance kisses me deeply causing me to wrap my legs around his hips, straddling him like a love sick slut.

"I can't wait, Daddy." I rock my hips in his lap playfully.

"She's fun." Finn chuckles as he stands back up.

"Daddy, don't leave." Rex pulls Finn back to him. Rex wraps his arms around his daddy's waist.

"I have a few more rooms then I will come down and help you sweep this floor." Rex nods. Finn kisses his mouth before walking away.

"I hate to see him go." Rex swoons. "But hell if I don't love to watch him leave."

"You're drooling." Vance barks up.

"I know what's in those pants he's wearing. My mouth isn't the only thing leaking." Rex shimmies on his seat.

I giggle so much I snort. I throw my hands up over my face with wide eyes.

"Oh fuck. That's the most sexy thing you could have done." Vance starts tickling me. I snort repetitively.

"Stop. Can't. Breathe." I squirm in his lap while trying to catch a supply of air.

"I'm going to thoroughly enjoy you." Vance calms down his assault; his hands tenderly rub my sides.

"Keep making promises. I guarantee you will." I wink at the gorgeous man.

"You hungry darling. We haven't had anything since before bed." Vance places me on the ground and stands up.

"I am. Actually." I wave at Rex. I follow Vance's lead. He holds my hand, leading me to his truck.

"They are funny. I like them a lot." I buckle my seat belt as Vance closes the door. He rounds the front of the truck to slip into the driver's side.

"Good. We will can come back later. You can enjoy their company." Vance gives me questioning eyes. I nod in agreement.

"You will need something a bit more, risky to wear tonight." Vance instructs.

"I'm not comfortable showing too much skin." I whisper.

"We will find something you are comfortable in." Vance holds my hand while leaving the parking lot.

"What do you wear?" I ask.

"Leather pants and boots." Vance non-chalantly admits.

"No shirt?" I ask.

"No. None of the male doms will have a shirt." Vance drives down the city roads like that is a completely normal occurrence.

"I can't wait to watch you all night." I whisper the words towards the window.

"You will be beside me all night. Should I get you a collar?" Vance pulls into a restaurant and turns towards me.

"What if I don't like the lifestyle?" I ask nervously.

"We can move at your pace. You set the rules. I just offer my opinions." Vance let's my hand go and comes around to help me out.

"Can we just try the collar tonight? If I like it, we can keep doing it." I stare helplessly at this man who is changing everything I thought I knew about myself. He makes me want to submit. I want him to boss me around.

"That's acceptable. We can go over the rules after we go shopping." Vance carries me along with him towards the entrance.

"I'm not dressed for this place." I tug at my shirt and fidget with my bracelet.

"You look amazing. It's a casual place. No big deal." Vance lays a kiss on my lips. I nod softly.

We walk in and he lied. Like BIG fat lie. The place is stunning. It's bright and airy with white table tops and sea foam colored accents. I'm not dressed appropriately at all.

"Vance." I whine as he ushers me past the hostess. Vance drags me out onto a balcony. I release a breath as soon as we are outside.

"It's not a suit and tie atmosphere. Calm down." Vance pulls my chair out. He then takes the seat next to me.

"Sorry. I'm trying." I whimper. I really am.

"You're doing wonderful. I'm proud of you." He picks up my hand and brings it to his lips.

"Thank you." I whisper my gratitude as my anxiety melts away.

"Look over the menu. I will order for you." Vance picks up his menu but, I can tell he isn't reading it.

"What are you getting?" I ask as I close the menu. I didn't even study it.

"It doesn't matter. Pick what you want." Vance opens the menu and points to the entrees.

"I usually just get whatever is easiest." I look at the prices and cringe internally. I can't afford this place.

"If by easy you mean cheapest, don't insult me." Vance grabs the menu and starts reading off the foods. I guess he doesn't want me choosing by cost.

"Stuffed ravioli with grilled steak please." I give him my order.

"Thank you, darling. See that was easy." Vance waves the waiter over. He comes walking over with big eyes. He stares at me for a moment before looking at Vance.

"We will have the stuffed ravioli with steak and a seafood platter please. Two cokes as well." He gives him the menu and waves him away.

The waiter looks at me again and runs off.

"He's shy." I observe out loud.

"He's smart." Vance winks at me.

"Jealousy is ugly Vance." I chide.

"Oh I'm not jealous. I'm possessive." Vance has no qualms with his correction.

"Thank you for lunch." I stare out over the veranda at the city below. The view is stunning.

I stand up and walk to the railing to look over it. Although I am afraid of heights, I still let curiosity get the best of me.

A warm chest pushes against my back. I look up at Vance as he clasps his fingers over mine. He wraps our arms around my waist.

"Gorgeous." He whispers as he kisses my temple.

"It really is." I press my head into his lips again.

"I wasn't talking about the view." Vance smiles at me while making my heart melt.

"How are you single?" I ask confused.

"I hadn't found anything worthy of claiming." Vance takes my lips in his. He kisses me with a possessive tongue. I turn in his arms and wrap my hands in his hair, never wanting to lose the moment. I have never been more flattered as I have been these last twenty four hours.

"Promise me you will give me a chance." Vance cups my jaw as I look into his molten chocolate eyes.

"I already am." I confess.

"Thank you. I promise you that in return, you will never feel neglected." He kisses my forehead and holds my head to his chest.

Those words are the deepest fear I have felt. All I have ever felt is neglected. Not abused, no abuse would be easier. You can blame that on the other person.

Neglect is a direct attack to your person. You aren't worthy of time, love or affection. I hated those years. I loathed knowing that my attention wasn't wanted or desired. It broke me. It took parts of my soul and consumed me like a hate fueled fire.

Without permission, my mind drifts to memories that have waged war on my heart.

"We don't touch. We don't kiss. We are like roommates." My confession is a plea for change. I just want to be wanted. Is that too much to ask?

"We have sex Karis." He rolls his eyes dismissively.

"You have sex. I am the outlet. You could care less if it's me or your hand. The five seconds you spend getting off does nothing for me. Not that you care." My body aches in mourning. I felt more desired when I was sleeping through my drunken summers full of one night stands.

"You want to have more sex? Initiate it." He argues his only line. I have heard it many times before.

I don't want sex, not exclusively. I want yearning, passion, love. I want to feel his desires course through me. It hasn't ever been that way if I'm being honest to myself.

"I have initiated it. You are too drunk to respond." It's not a lie. His alcohol consumption has become an issue. The subject is off limits. I don't mind pushing my boundaries.

"Here we go again." His eyes seem to be on a spinning wheel. It's annoying. I feel so small when he responds in that nature.

"No. You're right. I need my oxygen to breathe through this existence. I'm sorry I brought up something I deem as in issue in our non-marriage. Forgive me." The sarcasm is heavy in my words.

Feeling satisfied that he is right, he kisses my head. Case closed. Again.

He stalks towards the garage to prepare for his late evening of drinking it up with the neighbor.

I wonder if he realizes how he molds my choice every day.

Feeling less than enough, I put my ear buds in. I sink into my perch to spend my evening alone.

"You can come hang out. I know you won't. Just don't throw it in my face later that you weren't invited." He walks out of the door as my hand waves him away dismissively.

It's my fault. If I could just enjoy his activities, we could spend more time together.

My eyes focus on my phone. Beta Mates has been updated. My heart excitedly beats. I have been waiting on this update.

"Love always remains. Love Always Remains." Tears prick my eyes.

Love only remains where love has taken root. Where no love ever bloomed, no love can possibly flourish.

"Why are you quite sweetheart?" Vance talks into my head as I stay nestled in his embrace.

"I'm just remembering. Sorry." I whimper in his hold as he tightens his arms around me.

"Remember to forget, baby. It's not worth the anguish." He pulls back and moves us over to our table. He takes his seat and moves it a little closer to me. His fingers lace with mine. It's reassuring and exactly what I need.

The waiter brings out our food out. We both thank him. As he walks away, I swear I hear him snort.

"Excuse me." Vance stands abruptly. He briskly walks through the door to the inside. I catch his form as he pulls the waiter to a room that sits to the side. I can't hear or see, but I'm not sure it's positive reinforcement that is being handed out. I wait to eat until a very pissed Vance sits down and calmly starts picking at his food.

"Are you okay?" I ask gently. I rub his arm. He looks over at me and kisses my lips before waving his hand over our plates.

"Eat, love. It's taken care of." I don't bother asking because if he wanted me to know, he would have offered.

We eat in questionable silence before he cheerfully begins regaling me with stories from Rex and his past.

Lunch goes wonderfully. I have to remember that I can't jump head first into anything. This man seems incredible. But, don't they all at first. Or maybe we see what we want, not what actually exists.
