"I will kill them all!"
--Satan--
===================================
Hissing echoed from the inside, and with each step I could hear something -shift at the back of the cave. Then it began itching . . . The mark on my neck. It pricked my skin, like tiny, red ants. When I glanced over at Alvad, he was standing at the entrance with an uncertain expression, as if asking," Are you sure about this?"
My gaze shifted to Luke, who was gripping the hem of my plain, white shirt. His eyes scanned the ridged rocks and glowing stones coated with greeen moss. " You hold a Strange power . . . You're unable to let go of your protectivness over someone special, but who is it I wonder . . . " a voice hissed over me, causing both of I and Luke to jump and take a few steps back, upon locking eyes with the fifty-feet reptile.
It inched closer to me, staring deep into my eyes. . . As if seeking a specific answer without getting me to speak. The creatures hisses mixed with the ones of my curse mark. "Do you have a desire Yuna? " my fingers flinched upon feeling Luke giving a tug from behind me. . . Let's just say angels and their familiars had a few different missions.
I patted his-hand, before turning back to the reptalic creature above me. "It's not normal for a basilisk to settle in Hell. What brings you here?" I changed the topic.
The basilisk stuck its tongue out again, before leaning closer, its slippery, green scales shimmering in the faint light of thd crystals. " The calling," it hissed, before glancing at Alvad how was standing at the caves entrance, with his back turned to us. "Is he your guide?"
"Yes, unfortunately, but what's the calling?" I questioned, but the creature paid me no mind and norrowed her eyes at the entrance.
"Someone else is here," my caution rose at the mention of someone else around. "Human cat, you have led him to me! The fouth born demon!"
The creature began to panick. Shifting around, its body circling me and forcefully separating me from Luke. "Wait wait! What are you doing?! I must not be separated from him!" I yelled, chasing after Luke, only to be pushed away and trapped between the creature's overly large, scaly body. "Just let me send you back to the Human Realm!"
I held one of my daggers in one hand and a teleportation stone in the other. "No!! " it hissed, diving towards me, and knocking my with its head against the maroon earth beneath me.
"Master ordered me to take you alive! Hiss!"
My dagger had flown out of my hand, and clattered away . I could hear Luke and Alvad calling out, along with the magical creature blocking their way.
The Basilisk seemed to ignore Luke and Alvad's calls, and began swiftly circling around the cave, blocking the exit. "Your a familiar?!" I busted, pulling out my other dagger, while trying to hold back the pain shooting down my neck, and spreading to my shoulder. Did Satan's seal break? There was no time to think, and before I knew it, I was ripping two small pieces of the hem of my dusted shirt; tying them firmly to my scrapped knees, since healing magic was not the best expertise for me. I am protector . . . a right wing to God's angels.
With dagger in hand I ran straight to the head. Using my new found-fire magic was not something. . . I could fully control, yet. The most I could do without losing control was create a few tiny flames on the tips of my fingers. The basilisk took notice of my change in mood, and dove straight at me, it's scaly body moving swiftly. At the last second I leaped, as the creature-crashed, forming a hole of rocky, maroon stone. My feet came crashing down on the top of its head, sinking its face deeper into the rubble. The creature became wild and thrust his head up to throw me off, but I was quick to sink my dagger to the side of its head, leaving me dangling like Alvad's, creepy vudu doll.
The creature let out a loud hiss, swinging its head around frantically, and crashing into the walls and crystals to throw me off. Its slippery skin made it impossible for me to hold onto it; leaving me with only my dagger snuck between its scales to be my chance of holding on. It was most likely to loosen off soon, which meant I had to bear the pain of getting smacked against walls of stone, until the basilisk starts loosing its stamina to take a breather . . . Only problem is if I can hold on until that chance comes, but the over grown snake seemed to be more strong than I expected. My body seemed to get tired of getting bruised, cut, and crushed; that I could feel my grip on the dagger weakening. What do I do? I glanced back at my other dagger sprawled over the cave, but just in that second, the creature went bazzirk, and the end of its tail came swinging towards me. It broke off my dagger from its head, and crashing me to a wall, but it did not pull away after. I was now pinned to the rocky surface with a little blood tinkling from the corner of my lips. Luke's voice had faded in the destruction of the hollow cave, until I heard her . . . A voice . . . Hoarse and sly . . . Kind of like several snakes hissing, " Yuna~"
A giggle echoed through the air, and a shiver ran through me. My chin was forced to look up, by the basilisk's tail, making me unable to take in the image of whoever-was approaching me from below. The giggles increased, and I could sense a slimy substance climbing up my ankle. It felt strange, disgusting, but oddly . . . satisfying. I could hear my curse mark hissing in alarm, as it burned my skin. I tried to slip away, but the Basilisk's grip on me only tightened. It was until I heard hissing beneath me, that I knew what was around my ankle and rising up my right leg. I tried kicking, but the snake seemed to only curl around my leg faster and squeeze tightly . . . Making me lose all the sense in that part if my body. Then I heard the stranger's voice again, " Ow dear Yuna, did you never meet a Nāga? Well, we don't tend to follow the rules of neither Celestial Realm nor the burning Hell!"
Her laughter was that of a deadly siren, close to making my ears bleed. I felt her hand rest on my knee, and another snake crawled up my right leg. Its scales were cold and slightly slippery as it drenched my torn shorts in its slimy, liquid coat. "Look at you struggle . . . Why don't you . . . " she rose from the ground, and came into my field of vision, with her blue, serpent-like eyes burning into mine. " . . . Just give in. The shadow souls promised me a nice price for you. . . Though I wonder what you taste like. "
I shot her a glare and continued resisting, even through her small-snakes had sent my legs numb. Her upper body was that of a human's, but her lower limbs were nothing but a long-lengthed snake tail. The only thing she wore-was a loose, top with tiny, yellow bells at the hem, and two snakes curled around her arms. She giggled, and brushed a strand of her black hair behind her ear, before inching closer to me, while the basilisk's head floated next to her, waiting for any order. "Kick out those other nuisances, we have what we need , but . . . Make sure you find those, who followed them here," she reached out to my curse mark, a smirk on her face. "Lookie here. A seal from the fourth brother, what happens it if I do this."
I thought she was going to touch it, and break it free, but did far worse.
She ran her hand over my thigh, before digging her nails into my skin, allowing another one of her slithering pets to curl around my waist . . . And it bit me. A scream of agony shook through me, as I flung my head back in pain, but the torture did not end there. The other two reptiles squeezing me dove in as well, sinking their immortalic fangs into me. I was completely paralyzed, as the poison swam through me. " Aw dear Yuna, quite ironic . . . A cat dying to a snake, but don't worry . . . I will make sure you satisfy me," she giggled, as I fell to the rocky ground with the snakes still injecting their venom into me.
She slithered over, her basilisk's body acting as a scaled wall separating us from the outside world. " Who are you?" I moaned out, as the poison slowly ate me away.
The nāga just smiled, and gently made me sit upright, and tilted my head to the side. She licked her lips, and said something I could not understand; before I knew it snakes of different colors and sizes were curling themselves around me. It was like drowning, only that the poison seemed to tempt me into falling for the wave of pleasure it would offer. I could barely make out the shape I was in and then I saw her . . . Leaning in and sinking her fangs into the nap of my neck. My body screamed, as I tried to push her away, but she only sinked her fangs further and her snakes had me squeezed between their bodies, unable to breath or speak.
Fighting a basilisk would have been tricky alone, but a whole army of snakes led, by a nāga were beyond my power to defeat. Their weight held me in place, and their poison paralyzed my-magic. There was nothing I could do . . . Was she expecting Diavolo to send me after a basilisk and created such a trap? I gasped, and the Nāga pulled away with a smirk on her face; licked what little blood was on her lips . . . My blood.
How could I let myself fall like this?
How?
How could I?
But just then, her expression shifted into shock and both our eyes fell to her stomach, which had a emerald green, demon cast on it. She looked back at me, and with an instant withered into ashes, a last cry leaving her lips.
"Yuna!" I could not move, nor speak, and only watched the snakes slither away as the basilisk's scaly body stop wiggling.
My body still throbbed in agony, as I sat on my knees, and tried reaching out to the potions on my belt. I looked up at my savior, only to lock eyes with Satan himself , who had an arm wrapped around my waist to stop me from falling back. "Yuna, I am so sorry about this," he spoke, which came into my ear in a blur, but I was starting to adapt of how screwed up Devildom has become for me.
His eyes landed on the bite mark laid over my curse mark, which had now broken the seal, and stretched over my shoulder . "Satan . . ." I choked, pain shooting through me with every word, but my world was fading into a black abyss.
". . . Don't leave me . . ."
* * *
I had no idea if Satan was really worried for me, or if it was another sly attempt of his to gain my trust, but I no longer cared. The pain was too much. Off I was drowning into the sea of the nāga's poison. For a minute I thought this was how souls withered from the world, but I spotted him again among the darkness . . . Satan. . . He was pinned to a cobblestone wall-with heavy chains strapped to his body. He only wore plain grey pants, that were repeatedly patched with scraps of clothes. The darkness shifted to a prison cell, and there I was standing before his beaten-body of bruises and cuts. I could tell a truth from a lie, but never had I seen something like this. He did not seem to notice my existence, and when I tried touching him, my hand would pass though his body like a ghost. He was bleeding a lot, and his once perfectly combed hair was a horrible mixture of greasiness and blood. "I will kill them . . . " he growled in a low, hoarse voice, pulling on the iron chains strapped to his wrist. "I WILL KILL THEM ALL! I WILL MAKE THEM REGRET THIS!"
I jumped away from the corpse-like body, and felt-fear crawl up my spine upon witnessing him ferociously stand on his two brushed feet; lashing his body left and right in resentment, as more blood dripped from his chest. . . This was not a dream . . .
It was a memory . . .
Satan's memory . . .
Of his past life . . .
He was . . . Human . . .
