Robots? Why?
Once high in the mountains, nearing Dryl, Noah stayed human, and walked in front of the other three, and I stood next to him.
"Princess Entrapta will be a total catch for the rebellion. My mom is going to be so impressed." Glimmer squealed.
"I'm all for impressing Angela, but why is Entrapta so important?" Adora asked curiously as we kept walking.
"She's a brilliant inventor, she makes robots, and rehabs old tech let by the First Ones." Bow grinned, and I found myself smiling as I looked back at him.
"She's a pretty big deal in the Etherian makers community." He added, and I placed a hand on my hip.
"Sounds like something Cos would like." I said, and Noah smirked.
"Oh yeah, he was always talking about Technological advancements; using the past for the future." Noah quoted, and I elbowed him with my right arm.
My left was feeling better, along with my neck. Maybe It was just a little flare up.
"Which I am apart of because I dabble in gadgetry myself." Bow said proudly, pulling out a tiny arrow, and bow.
He fired it off, and it exploded into confetti. Bow waved his hands happily, and Noah suppressed a smirk. The girls exchanged a look, and I admired the tiny bow, it was so cute.
"What does that mean?" Adora asked in a whisper.
"It means if we convince Princess Entrapta to join the Rebellion she'll invent all sorts of cool junk for us. Then we'll finally have weapons that can stand up to the Horde's." Glimmer said in not so much of a whisper.
"Like my trick arrows! I'm running out so I made new ones." Bow said opening his quiver full of arrows.
"This one's a stun arrow. This one is an emergency flair. And this one... this one's just pointy. And here is my newest one." Whipping an arrow out of the quiver with a flourish he spun around dramatically.
"Sonic Arrow!" He boomed, and Noah cocked his head, and I followed.
"When will we need a sonic arrow? When we need to wake up early?" Glimmer chortled.
"Or if we get separated in a crowd." Adora added, and the two laughed, walking off, and Noah joined them.
"Separated in a crowd, meh- I bet Entrapta will like my arrows." He mumbled, and I hoisted an arm around his shoulders.
"I like them, they're sexy!" I said in a teasing voice, grinning from ear to ear with childlike innocence.
Bow blushed but laughed all the same.
There was a vibration beneath my feet, and I halted, as we turned a bend, and were cut off from Dryl by a huge mass of rock, and debris.
"It must have been a rock slide any other loud noises, could cause another slide. We need to be as quiet as-" Adora drew her sword before he could finish and shouted at the top of her lungs.
"For the Honor of Gray skull!" There was a blinding flash, a loud crash, and clatter of stones around.
Dust flew everywhere, and I hacked, kneeling over, every hack drawing pain from my neck, and shoulder.
"Ha! I'm getting the hang of this thing." She said proudly.
"That was incredibly dangerous." Bow gasped and waved his arms around to compensate of his lack of volume.
"What's the big deal? It worked." Adora said, dismissing the danger looming over our heads. "You can't just bust through everything with magic. She-Ra could have caused another avalanche." Bow tried to explain, eyes narrowed.
"But She didn't, okay? I spent my whole life without Powers, no way I'm going to stop using them now." Adora said.
I growled in the back of my throat and kept walking. Noah was clearly as tense as I was, I kept feeling surges of fear, fear coming from people, but it was no threat because it was coming from Dryl... unless we were too late...
There was a crackle up ahead, and I looked up, seeing Dryl covered by storm clouds, and lighting streaking though the sky.
"Whoa, she's got lightning." Bow awed, and I pointed up, to the beacon flashing at the top of the tower.
"Something's wrong. The castles distress beacon is lit. They must be under attack." Glimmer said teleporting further ahead. I shook my head.
"I don't know, we wouldn't just stumble upon a battle here." I said defensively. The whole purpose with us being here was higher senses, we were here so we would not stumble into a battle.
"There's been no reports of the Horde in this area." Adora said running off towards the front gate.
"Whoa, wait! Be careful." Bow warned.
Noah shifted, and whipped out my new axe. I promised not to break this one. Adora knocked a rock, and the floor in front of the gate dropped away, and menacing metal spikes jutted up. Bow held his breath with a gasp, and side stepped around the trap.
Once inside I saw no sign of anybody here, yet they were all around, underground... Whatever had happened it really shook these guys. Glimmer was asking Adora something when we approached them.
"They're still here, no one's been abducted." I reported, and Noah nodded, turning around us, and baring his teeth, waiting for something to attack.
"Can you shift?" Glimmer asked me, and I nodded. Seeing Noah already in wolf form.
My body shuddered, and there was a groaning sound as my senses sharpened, and I felt my body grow outward. The feeling was so familiar it hurt me to think about how much I could not be like this, I could not be as powerful as this.
There was still discomfort in my leg but when I investigated thee reflection of a metal building, I could not help but feel so proud of myself. I saw the blue eyes, the black nose, the silvery black fur, and my stud point ears. I smirked a wolfish smirk.
Glimmer shuddered, and I looked over to her she was staring at a robotic hand on the ground, disconnected from the arm at the wrist. She picked it up by the end of one of its fingers, but it began to move. It crawled up Glimmer's arm and clung to her arm. She gasped, and shook herself, until the hand was flung off her, and I caught it in my jaws, crunching it in my teeth. Ooh! My teeth, how I missed you.
I spat the hand out, and snorted.
"Wow I forget how big you are." Glimmer said, and I shook my ruff. Noah walked over Bow at his side.
"Okay we need to be careful. Entrapta has traps set up all over her castle." Bow panted.
"They are supposed to be really cool!" He beamed, stars in his eyes.
There was a loud crashing sound. The noise reminded me of nails on a chalk board, and I arched my back, throwing my head under my paw, trying to flatten my ears.
"They are coming, get out pf the square!" I looked up to see a small green goblin like creature disappearing under a manhole cover.
"Who's coming, is it The Horde?" Adora asked pressing her body to the ground.
"Hello? Come back!" Glimmer shouted.
There was more screeching, but I dint hide my head this time. I had missed too much already. Bow quickly strapped my bag around my middle.
"We should probably move away from whatever is making that sound." Glimmer said nervously.
"Azure stay close. I'll take rear." Noah said, and I nodded.
"This way!" Adora pointed.
There was a clinking sound, of metal on stone. I followed sensing the sound coming from every possible direction. There were not hearts beating, no breathing or even smell.
We bolted down a tunnel, and I skidded to a halt as something reflected the light. Everyone paused as a mechanical person stepped out of the shadows. Its glass eyes were broken, and its left foot was gone, leaving sparking wires to drag.
"What the-"
The bot screeched and hurled itself at us. I met it in the air, my jaws snapping wildly. A red tint clouded my vision, an aggressive, feral urge shook my body as I pinned it down, ripping its other leg of. It was still moving. Noah joined me and yanked at its head. We battled for dominance, pulling at the robotic body until it was only scrap.
"Umm Azure."
I felt a hand on my flank, and I whirled around lips pulled back, but I only saw Bow. He was tense, and he was staring at me. The red disappeared, and I righted myself. I bowed my head in an apologetic fashion. Bow nodded, and stroked my fur before he looked over the remains of the bot.
"Looks like it's- well, was one of Entrapta's designs. Why would it attack us?" There was a flash of light across his face, and I turned to see Adora, posing her sword.
"Alright, stand back!" She commanded a wide-eyed Glimmer.
"Careful, it could be a- "The door Adora stood before pulled back, and the ground opened, dropping Glimmer, and Adora inside. It closed with a creak.
"Glimmer! Adora!" Bow howled, and then a muffled scream.
I looked back, and charged forward into the dark tunnel, Noah at my side, but he was gone. I looked, and I sniffed, but my nose was overwhelmed with flour, and the carbonated sent of soda. I wrinkled my nose and growled.
"What the French Toast!" I snarled, and I paced.
"No time for cussing little sister. We have to go." Noah said, and I nodded.
With the clicking of our claws on the ground we entered the maze...
