Repercussions

Azure's POV

We walked through the whispering woods, the day was quickly fading, and I felt tried, and achy. Maybe I should have stayed home, but I remembered what Time had said to me. Use it well. The trees were dense and hummed with the usual energy. Insects flicked between the trees, and an animal would rumble by, every now and then. So far no one else has noticed the lack of my usual grunting. I would wince or something in that category every time I stepped wrong or had to move over a fall log. I always walked near Petra and scanned the trees for any sign of my brothers.

"I realized I was free, but the other horses aren't, so I named myself Swift Wind, after the swift winds of revolution." Swift Wind was saying, and I would occasionally look up, and meet the eyes of Glimmer.

I am fairly sure they forgot that I was even here, staying silent, and making brief, but unspoken conversation.

Meanwhile, Swift Wind made conversation with Bow, and that was not quite as silent.

"And left to kick own stable doors. Freedom, equality and hay for all." Swift Wind listed off.

There was a rumble though the earth, and I halted next to Petra. There was a hum in the air, quickly growing louder. Petra quickly picked a branch from the ground and held it like a spear. I picked up a stone and weighed it in my hand.

"Do you guys hear that?" Glimmer asked aloud, and our small group halted.

The hum was suffocating, and with a burst of foliage a stampede of deer like creatures exploded our, and past us. It was silent for only a second, but there was something else coming.

"Something spooked them, brace yourselves." Petra advised just in time.

Spitting, and roaring, an awfully familiar creature appeared from the forest. It was the giant beetle bug.

"Get behind me!" Bow ordered, getting in front of me, and pulling back the bowstring, arrow ready to lodge itself in the pearly armor plates. The bug simply howled and scampered away.

"Déjà vu anyone?" I muttered to myself.

I watched, and Bow lowered his weapon.

"You okay?" he asked turning to me, and I nodded.

"Peachy. You?" he smiled down at me and nodded.

"Just Peachy." Glimmer was exhausted form trying to use her powers, I really felt for her.

"What was that about?" Swift Wind walked a few steps away and looked after the train of chaos.

"I feel something. We should run. No, we should get Adora. Adora, then run." Swift Wind wildly reeled about.

"Swift Wind, what is it?" Bow asked, and Swift Wind whimpered.

"A bad thing, hurry."

Exchanging a brief look between each other, we started after the frantic horse.

Bow abruptly stopped and grabbed my arm.

"Azure, here." Bow said, and held out his arms to me, as if gesturing that I climb into them.

"Bow, that's amazingly sweet, but I'm feeling much better, I made it this far." I gestured to the path we had already wandered. Bow shook his head.

"I know, but it'd make me feel safer if you were..." he blushed, and I nodded slowly, knowing what he meant.

"Okay, but I'm not exactly a twig." I informed him and let him scoop me up.

It felt nice, and I had not noticed how much my stomach stung until was not moving anymore. I guess even with otherworldly healing, there was still some downtime.

Iwrapped an arm around his neck, and he started walking. His pace was even, and steady. I could hear the thrum of his heart aboveall. I caught Petra elbowing Glimmer, and they both exchanged a giddy look. Ifurrowed my brow as Petra winked at me, and we kept following Swift Wind...
