Oh... Too Many
Azure's POV
I stood at the base of the turret sizing it up, Faust at my side.
"You ready for this?" Faust asked, sharpened canines glinting in the sun.
"As ready as I'll ever be." I watched for the signal, my legs coiled under me, ready to spring.
I felt my muscles go taught, my body flooded with adrenaline and power. I could feel the same strength radiating from Faust. I could hear the plan golem's roaring bellow, fire from the cannons then a halt in the attack. Ice coated the cannon nozzles. I flexed my arms as the adrenaline jumped into my throat.
"Now!" I shouted.
I forced my body into the air shifting in the middle of the jump. I was twenty feet high in the jump when I pressed my paws to the iron surface raking it with my claws as I pushed myself higher, running vertically in the air. My body was pounding, my axe strapped around my massive rib-cage.
Throwing ourselves over the top I launched myself at the first thing I saw a bot. the red-light blinking in its glass face. I snarled savagely as I slashed my claws outward and bowled into the bot, crushing it under my weight. Faust grabbed a soldier by his helmet and threw him. I landed hard on the ground beside Bow. I stared into the Horde, mouth foaming, eyes wildly looking around, tail trashing and my body quivering with adrenaline.
"Charge!" Adora shouted lifting her sword.
"I am Sea-Ra!" Mermista howled.
"Plant Magic!" Perfuma squealed.
"The Winters Bane!" Then it was chaos...
Red in my vision as I spun, lashing at everything at carried a red winged symbol on their chest. There was a burning wave of pain on my side as that was forced into my ribs.
I roared in pain before turning wildly. As I turned a chain of hot iron flew over my head. I whirled back, foam flying from my mouth in rage. Another cord was thrown over my back strapping me down, another on my left front leg, a fourth on my hind right. I shuddered with the pain as I shifted, loosening the bands. I stood up in the moment of confusion and whirled my axe over my head. Striking, I swung the head of my axe onto the chest of one soldier, kicking my leg backwards into another's stomach.
"Azure!" I looked up to see Bow aiming an arrow at me. "Duck!" He shouted firing the arrow. I threw myself into a crouch as the arrow opened, sweeping the remaining Horde soldiers around me off their feet. I whipped my head up, grinning at him.
"Thank you!" I waved and he nodded with a grin. I dodged a shot from a wildly spinning bot but before I could attack it; Faust soared through the air above me, launching himself into the bot at full force, knocking it back.
Once the bot was down, Faust turned his eyes to me before jutting his muzzle at the pass above us. I turned just in time to see Glimmer being thrown into Adora's arms, Scorpia standing over them. Faust nodded once at me and made his way into the tower, using the stairs to get up. I however found a more creative way. I turned, seeing Bow with one of his grappling-hook arrows in hand. I waved my arm of the deserted ground.
"Hang on!" Bow called distantly.
Within seconds he was swinging down towards me. He extended his hand as he readied to grab me. I jumped up on the bot Faust had downed and leapt into the air just as he swung by, grabbing me by the waist. I clung to him as we sung onto the pass just behind Mermista and Perfuma.
"Okay, seriously, how many of you are there?" Scorpia snapped, turning towards us angrily but then stopped short as she saw us. "Oh... Too many."
Faust appeared, very much human and holding up one of his swords. "No. Just enough." He grunted and kicked outwards, Knocking Scorpia over the edge where she fell far down into the river below.
I laughed heartily at Faust who smirked at me. "What?" I just snorted.
"Just Enough?" I quoted snorting.
"I was tired, I couldn't come up with anything better." I punched his shoulder playfully and he rubbed my hair with his knuckles.
Bow raised his arms. "That was Awesome!"
Glimmer nudged Adora with her elbow. "Good planning session." Glimmer grinned.
Adora put an arm around each of them. "Thanks guys." She smiled as she looked out over the reclaimed pass, sun setting beyond the woods.
I breathed in the air and relaxed. I felt someone behind me. "Thanks for saving me back there, even though I had it handled." I thanked before teasing him.
Bow grinned and rubbed the back of his neck. "No problem... And you did not have that handled, you'd probably be dead without me." He laughed lightly.
I scoffed and playfully pushed him. "Shut up." I mumbled, cheeks turning red. Inclining my head, I kissed him, feeling the warmth of his skin on mine. His hands intertwined with mine as we parted. Today was hectic, but he made all that melt away, made me feel free...
