Azure's POV

While I was walking, I found myself out in the woods nearest the palace. Shifting into my wolf from, I sniffed around. Trees, mud, Leather... I caught sent of Bow's boots, and Glimmer's weird, but nice, sparkly smell.

I snorted and rolled my eyes. Why again did her mom think she would stay put. It sort of bothered me that Glimmer ran out without me.

I mean I get it; she probably did not feel as close to me as Bow. They had known each other for a long time, and I have only known her for a little over a month. It's not the same, and I am fine with that, I would feel the same way if it were Glimmer hanging out, with Petra, and I.

Petra! This would be a great chance to hang out together, and be able to talk about that interesting development between her, and Noah... I tilted my head back and howled. It sounded eerie out here in these woods, it made my fur prickle.

It was a type on howl that distinctly said: Over here! I want to talk.

I pricked up my ears and listened. It was only a moment before there was another howl. It was Petra. Her howl sound creeper here too. I shuddered, and shook my body, as is shaking out the chilly feeling.

As I waited for Petra, I thought back to that dream. It was already distant, and faded, but there was something about it that was simply wrong. I had taken the cut to something that I had done in my sleep, but it just felt wrong. I could smell Petra now, as she came from up wind.

She came into the clearing at a relaxed saunter, but she sensed that something was wrong.

"Are you okay? Faust was pretty worried; he didn't want you out here tonight." She said, and I walked over to her.

"I'm fine, but Glimmer, and Bow ran off, they're out in the woods somewhere." I said.

A loud high-pitched screech echoed through the forest. It was like a pulse, I growled, and looked down. I felt that string again. It was pointing off into the dark forest. Petra looked at me.

"What was that?" I shook my head to get the ringing out of my ears.

"I don't know... but it came from over there. That's where Glimmer's sent heads off." Petra started walking beside me into the woods.

The later it got, the more worried I became. The sound did not come back, and we had broken into a run.

There was chatter up ahead of us, and the fuzz an electronic device. I ran harder, my legs pumping, and muscles burning. Petra at my side, we burst past an overhanging tree. I skidded to a stop to avoid crushing Bow who yelped. I stood over him panting and cocked my head. His head lolled back, and he sighed.

"Oh... Azure... it's just you." I huffed and closed my jaws loosely around his shirt which was cropped off and pulled him up.

Glimmer was hiding behind a fern, and I walked over to her, and snorted. The ferns blew to either side of her face, and she looked up at me, nearly frozen. With a snap of my bones I was human again, and looking at her, with my hands on my hips.

"You were going into the woods, and you didn't even tell me?" I said with a playful gasp.

"I'm hurt Glimmer." I added placing a hand on my chest, and the other caressed my forehead.

Petra was human in an instant and dusted off her pants.

"What are you doing out here anyway?" She asked looking at Bow.

"We found a piece of First Ones tech, it's here in the woods, and giving off some cool readings." He explained.

First Ones, the first people to settle Etheria, leaving behind technology that was significantly more advanced.

I looked over the tablet and flinched as the pulling feeling got stronger. I looked in the direction of the pull and cocked my head. I though the pull had been leading me to Glimmer, and Bow... but it did not feel complete...

"We should keep going. If we are going to find this tech soon. Your mom will kill me if she finds out." I added, and started off...
