Moment Of Eternal Dread
Azure's POV
I sat on the boat, pulling my pale grey duffel coat closer around me, my navy-blue scarf tucked just under the collar. "Why didn't I invest in a warmer coat?" I wondered aloud.
"Because the coats you had went past your hips or were cape coats." Bow reminded me. I nodded.
"You can't be too prepared to run for your life." I muttered. Bow sat next to me, throwing an arm over my shoulders. I leaned into his side, trying to steal his warmth. Sea Hawk had offered us transport when he heard that we were going across the sea to a frozen waste land that had somehow inspired Horde activity.
"I thought wolves were supposed to be warm." I gave bow a look from under my messy hair.
"But we can still get cold." I informed him. "Hold me~" I whined, snuggling into him.
"The Dragon's daughter five. She cuts a fine line on the sea, does she not?" Sea Hawk marveled at his ship as we sailed through the water. I saw a few ice spires and burgs peeking through the mist in almost every direction I turned. The cold hung in the air like a smothering cloud of smoke. I was used to cold, but this was freezing. It distracted me though, to think about what Petra was holding back. She was at the helm of the ship, steering us away from a few burgs due to Sea Hawk's direction.
"Wait? What happened to the Dragon's Daughter Four?" Bow asked, tracker pad in his hand. He then jumped up, wide eyed. "Oh, oh, oh! Was it: Adventure!?" Bow asked, hiking a boot up next to Sea Hawk's, and posing in a practiced pirate stance.
"No. Termites. I Couldn't save the old girl." Sea Hawk said sadly. "Anyway, I'm honored to be a part of another daring mission for the Rebellion." Sea Hawk said cheerfully, switching the subject.
"Well, you know, we needed a boat to get up here, and you have a boat." Petra smirked playfully. Her matching duffel coat was fluttering in the wind a bit, and her black hair was in two braids down either side of her face.
Sea Hawk pointed towards her. "Yes, I do. Heh. Truth be told, I was glad to have something to do. Mermista canceled our plans this week, and she's hanging out with her friends and didn't invite me to join..." He trailed off.
We all exchanged uncomfortable glances. Glimmer quickly teleported next to Sea Hawk. "Well, let this mission distract you from all that." Glimmer grinned, giving him a quick side hug. "We've received reports of Horde Activity in the Northern Reach. They've set up some kind of outpost, but we have no idea why." Glimmer informed us all again.
I stood up as Petra set the wheel and walked over to me. I threw an arm over her shoulders and she cocked her hip while she folded her arms.
"The Northern Reach is nothing but snow and ice. What could they possibly be doing?" Bow wondered.
Adora looked down, eyes filling with questions. "I don't know, but It can't be good." She muttered ominously.
"Do they ever do anything good?" I scoffed shifting towards the side of the boat.
"Let us see... They have Taken over countless cities, killed millions of people, kidnapped several of us, operated on you, zapped your powers." Petra listed off, pointing about.
"Aren't you steering?" Glimmer asked. Everyone paused, and looked ahead, seeing a big burg of ice.
"...I'm sorry, I just had a moment of eternal dread."
