Mission... Quest... Thing
Azure's POV
I moved aside the tent flap to find Adora holding her head as the other all mocked in what I could only assume was a Catra impression. I was not feeling great, that is what this was. I stared as Adora erupted like an overstuffed volcano.
"No. None of this Is right!" She shouted. I froze with Faust at my back. Everyone groaned, slumping in their seats.
"We've been here for hours; it's time we attack." Glimmer complained. Adora just shook her head.
"The Horde will counter whatever we throw at them. We will go again. We won't leave until we have a perfect plan." Adora insisted roughly.
Bow glanced from the table to Adora with a small smile. "Adora, isn't this all going a little overboard?" Bow then turned to Faust and me, meeting my eyes fondly. "We've faced the Horde before. What's the worst that could happen?"
Adora looked down, and I watched her closely. "You want to know the worst that can happen? Fine." Adora reached across the table and selected her little figurine.
"I'm the heaviest hitter, so Catra will separate me; trap me, take my sword, do something so I am helpless when she turns on you." Adora said looking up at us. "She knows everything about me, what I'll do, how to take me out." Adora said, dropping the figurine to the ground.
She then turned to the nearest figurines. "They'll overwhelm Frosta and Mermista with Bots, and fire on Perfuma." Adora proceeded to put down their figurines. "They will target Azure, making Faust vulnerable. They'll use them to draw Bow out, pinning him Between the bots and Horde soldiers."
Adora's pace in voice quickened as she pushed away my figure and Faust's. "Glimmer will teleport in, she won't have enough magic to get out, trapping them. Catra will make me watch before finishing them off." The rest of the figures down.
"Everyone is gone, the Horde wins, Etheria crumbles and it's all my fault!" With a swipe of her hand every piece was knocked away. Adora knelt, pressing her hands to her temples.
"The Horde nearly destroyed Etheria. We were barely able to stop it... If this plan isn't perfect, if I am not perfect, everyone will-" Adora paused with a sigh. I folded my arms uncomfortably, breathing slowly through my parted lips. This was serious to her, more serious than we had all taken it.
"Adora, I was captured by Shadow Weaver, taken to the Fright Zone and lost my powers." Bow looked slightly worried.
"Glimmer, not helping." He whispered to her.
"But you know what? We escaped. I fought without my powers, and we won! Bad things are going to happen, that's life. You can let it paralyze you or you can roll with it. Figure out the things you can, and trust that your friends have your back frost the rest." Adora relaxed and I felt her heart slow to a normal pace. I breathed with relief, feeling the tension lift from the room.
Bow nodded. "You've got this, Adora."
Perfuma smiled. "I cast friendship and support on my turn."
Mermista smirked as she lifted her trident. "Here. This is my Trident of Power. I want you to have it, since Bow is making me a new one." She said smugly and bow leaned in, eyes a little wide.
"I did not agree to that." He sated but that did not faze her.
"You will." She smirked.
"The Winters Bane stands with you. Also, I, Frosta stands with you. I can't tell if we're still in character." Frosta added. Adora looked from face to face and blushed at the confidence in us. I nodded my head to her.
"You're going to need people of intelligence on this mission... quest... Thing." I added teasingly, and Faust nudged my chin playfully.
"That rules you out, Az." I batted at his arm.
"Thank you." Adora smiled tiredly as Bow looked around.
"So, what do we do now?" Bow asked, breaking the silence that followed Adora's gratitude. Adora straightened up proudly.
"We do what we do best. We improvise." She stood, unsheathing her sword, and cried. "For the Honor of Grey Skull!"
