Azure's POV

We sat On Glimmer's bed. All of us human, and filthy as dogs. I lay half over Bow, and his hand was motionless - tangled in my hair.

"At least we know that Entrapta's alive. And working with the Horde, making weapons to wipe us out..." He trailed off sadly.

"I need cake." I mumbled, and Glimmer nodded.

"Amen." Petra gave a lazy thumbs up.

"Cake testing my room tomorrow." She mumbled.  The door opened, and we sat up.

"Guess what Swift Wind, and I did today? We restored a first one's watchtower so Light Hope can balance the planet. And we saved a field an- What happened to you?" Adora rambled on as she walked into the room, dusting grass clippings off her jacket, and us of her hair.

"Oh Adora, we have a lot to catch you up on." Glimmer sighed...

I had recalled the events of yesterday as I sank into my bath. Steam rose, and the smell of lavender bath oils calmed my senses. The hot water slid over my body, and I welcomed the feeling up to my neck. After soaking for a few minutes, I began to scrub the dirt from my feet, arms, and legs. I got the grime from under my fingernails, and I washed my hair.

Today felt weird for some odd reason, and I glanced over at the watercolor calendar. The fourteenth of July, I was seventeen today. I breathed deeply and dipped my head back into the water.

"It's my birthday." I muttered to myself and stood up.

I dried off and selected an outfit. A beige jumpsuit, an amber stoned belt, and a blue overcoat, that cut off at my waist, and had long tails. I walked out of my room, and down the hall to Petra's new room. We had been moved a bit. Petra was now staying with Noah, and Faust stayed with me. I found Glimmer outside Petra's door also, knocking. I stood next to Glimmer and yawned.

"Afternoon." I greeted in a sort of goofy manner that a person had after waking up and remaining exhausted.

Petra opened the door, looking equally sleepy.  "Welcome to cake world." She said, and we walked in.

Bow, and Adora were already stated, Faust, and Noah were out. Hunting, I guessed. I sat down, and took it all in. We sat on plump floor pillows, and the floor between us was a sea of cake slices.  Vanilla, chocolate, lemon, spice. Apple, strawberry, pineapple, and pumpkin. Carrot, fudge, rose. Champagne, cherry, red velvet, yellow, and more. All were topped with various gnashes, and white frostings.

"I'm in heaven!" I sighed, and we all settled in.  We each selected a plate and began to taste. I dove for the carrot cake, and placed a fork full into my mouth, and savored the silky cake, and cool cream cheese.  "Mama pack me up some of this." I sighed, and relaxed.

Bow had selected the Strawberry cake with buttercream, and a chocolate filling.  Glimmer was closing her eyes while she chewed a piece of fudge cake.  Petra sucked on her fork, making sure to get every bit of her Lemon cake.  Adora sampled the champagne, and we all talked a bit.

"Okay, pass." Petra said after we had all taken at least three bites.

We marked down points on a sheet of paper, and we passed out plates to the next person. I tasted Bow's strawberry first, then Petra's lemon, Adora's champagne cake, then finally Glimmer's fudge cake.  We sampled each cake until our stomached screamed in protest.

"Not a fan of the apple, and pineapple. They taste too artificial." Adora spoke up, and Petra nodded.  I mashed the red velvet into its frosting, and I relaxed as I finished it off.

"Out of all of you here, I can't believe none of you like this red velvet." I said and pointed to the chocolate.  "It's just chocolate cake with food coloring, and a tablespoon of white vinegar, nothing taste wise is altered." I pointed out, and Bow sat up.

"It's just food coloring?" He asked, and looked down, confused.  "I thought it had something special in it."

Glimmer pointed to the cherry. "I say the cherry, it's awesome with that chocolate drizzle." Glimmer said gleefully, and Petra nodded.

"How many layers?" Bow asked, and Petra grinned.

"Six tiers, twenty-four layers, and its big enough for the staff to have some too." I oohed, and then spoke again with my idea I had had cooking since the carrot cake.

"We could do a different flavor each layer." I said and pointed with my fork.  "We could pair our top six favorites."

Petra leapt to her feet and threw up her hands.  "Oh, praise the moon for this heavenly idea!" She crowed, and sat back down, looking over our list of points.  "So, there we have it. Six layers. Cherry, and chocolate fudge on the bottom, Vanilla, and champagne, then Strawberry, and chocolate." Petra finalized, and I nodded.

The door burst open as a guard came into the room.  "Princes Glimmer, Adora, Azure, and Tech Master Bow. You are needed in the council room."

Petra perked up when she did not hear her name.  "Am I not needed?" She asked, sounding a little offended.

"Apologies mam, Prince Noah specifically said you were not to leave the castle." The guard informed us, and Petra's face turned red with anger.

"Did he now?" She asked with tight lips and stood up before storming out. Glimmer was about to go after her, but I grabbed her arm.

"It's best not to move until she's gone." I warned teasingly.  We followed the guard out, and I stopped Bow on the way out. He looked down at me confused before I pecked him on the cheek. He blushed and smiled down at me.

"What?" He asked, and I smirked evilly.

"Nothing...Tech Master Bow." I teased, and before we got too far behind, I ran to thegroup, to avoid being tickled...
