Last Goodbyes
Azure's POV
My ears rung with pain, and I opened my eyes. My face was sticky, and I laid there, unmoving until the sound stopped. I did not know how long it's been since I passed out, but my stomach was roaring with hunger, so I guessed it might have been a day or so. I knew where I was, I was in the Fright Zone. I managed to pull myself up, and brace against the wall. The floor where my head lay was sticky with blood. My dress was cut, and dirtied, blood stained.
The cell was green tinted, with gray walls, and a shield boarder. There was someone outside too, a guard. I stared unblinkingly back at them. My face emotionless, and calm. I could not register things right; I was in a sea of shock. The guard called for someone, but the voices were so far, and the heartbeats were smothered by the haze clouding my head. I was impassive as the door opened, and two guards came in.
I was picked up by my arms and dragged out. I tried my best to keep my feet under me, but soon gave up, and let my knees rest in the cushioned skirt. I could hear shouting, banging, and crackling. It was all so distant. I looked to the side and saw Bow. He was franticly banging at the shield, but I had no more strength to fight back. I tried to extend my fingers towards him, but they would not move for me.
The Fright Zone passed by me as I was dragged and transferred to another set of guards. There were cadets roaming hallways, and then finally no one was anywhere. We arrived at a large door, to what was called by the guards, a Sanctum.
The doors were pushed open, and I was escorted in. The guards set me down and walked out. I sat panting, braced against a large tube that twisted sky high. I was not sure what I was seeing when someone came around and knelt. I felt cold, hard skin against my cheek, and then there was a click. I gasped for air as if I had been under water forever. I could breath, see, and hear again. All my senses started up. I staggered to my feet and faced the man in front of me.
"What the heck is wrong with you people!?" I shouted and caught myself as I regained my full function slowly.
When I met the full blood red eyes, I knew I was not speaking to any common soldier. I was speaking to Hordak himself. I did not recoil, in fact this made me even more angry. I lashed out with a weak fist, and he caught it, pushing it aside. I was panting, and probably looked like a mess.
"You should be grateful you're not dead." He spat at me, and I scoffed.
"Sure. It's every girl dream to live." I replied sarcastically.
Lord Hordak shoved me aside, and I fell back, catching myself on one of the pillars.
"You have no idea how much trouble you've caused!" He snarled back.
"Did I ask you to take everything from me?!" I shouted back, and lunged forward, knocking into him.
He threw me aside, and I got into a crouch. I reached inside my body, trying to shift, but nothing happened. I looked up at Hordak, my eyes full of rage.
"What do you want from me?" I asked, through clenched teeth. I knew I could never get anywhere by fighting him when I was still out of it.
"I want to study you. Be being of such raw, primal power." He said, a little breathlessly, glad I was not the only one.
"If you agree to my terms, I leave your kind be, we'll be allies, you'll never have to hide again." Hordak hissed and walked over to me.
I stepped back and bore my fangs.
"You won't hold up your end, you'll study me, then kill me. After that, you will go after my kind, you will know everything." I snarled back, and we circled each other.
"That's possible." Hordak sneered, and I coiled back.
He snapped his hands, and an image of Bow appeared on a screen. My eyes widened, and I looked from the screen to Hordak. He stepped back, as a gesture that he would not try anything evil. Keeping him in my peripheral, I stepped closer to the screen. It was a live feed. Bow was in a corner of his cell, with his knees pulled to his chest, and his head looking upward as it rests against the wall.
"I know how he feels about you, I've seen it." Hordak hissed, and I slumped.
"You can save him, I have no use for such a resilient rebel, I'll let him go. You'd have my word." I turned to face Hordak who had his hand extended towards us, and I stared blankly at it.
"Okay..." I mumbled, barely above a whisper.
"But I get to see him before I go. In person." I added specifically. Hordak smirked, and I shook his hand.
"I'm glad to have this alliance with you, Queen Azure." He said, and gestured towards the doors, which opened, and two guards stepped in.
"Take her to see the other rebel, then release him." Hordak snarled at them menacingly.
They nodded, and stood beside me, both placing a hand on my back. I was escorted out, though the long corridors that were already so blurry in my mind. The prison was nearly empty, only a dozen or so people were trapped, most of the prisoners the Horde took, did not stay awfully long.
"Azure!" I looked up and saw Bow in his cell. The guards opened it, just long enough for me to throw myself in.
"Bow." I breathed in his sent, and he hugged me tightly.
"I didn't think you'd be coming back." He said, and I nodded not quiet meeting his eyes.
"I didn't know myself..." I lowered my voice and sighed.
"They're going to let you go, no tricks." I said, and his eyes widened.
"Azure, what did you do?' He asked, sounding a little angry.
"I got you a one-way ticket out of here, you can go back to Glimmer, and Adora-" Bow shook his head rapidly.
"Azure, Glimmer is here, she's in the Fright Zone." Bow said, and I felt my stomach drop.
"Sugar Honey Iced Tea." I muttered quickly, and the guards opened the shield. I held into Bow frantically.
"Bow, Bow! Please listen to me, I will get Glimmer out, I promise, just hang on okay?" A guard pushed him back while the other pulled me out.
"Azure!" Bow called after me, but I was tugged away.
"Goodbye!" I called as loudly as my raspy voice could go before, I was pulled from sight...
