In Elberon And It Is On!
Azure's POV
It had been a few weeks since we arrived in Bright Moon, and only a single day since we arrived in Elberon. I had Convinced Faust to let me go, and Petra wanted to stay.
I did not blame her, moving around everywhere was not her style. Sure, she had come to find us in the Taiga, but that was because a city had fallen. I kept to my human form and walked around. Small satyrs ran around laughing, and I stayed with Glimmer.
I Promised Angela that if I came, I would watch out for Glimmer. I had not known her that long, but from what I knew she was sweet, stubborn, ready to do some good, and likes daffodils. Bow was on the other side of Elberon doing a sweep, and I was walking around with Glimmer.
Elberon was brightly colored with reds, blues, and oranges. The houses looked like butter colored domes, with intricate paintings inside, and out.
"It's so colorful here." I said, looking around at the tall trees full of birds, and small children climbing around.
"Yeah, was Lupin... not?" she trailed off, and I shrugged hiding the tint of sadness in my eyes.
"It wasn't as colorful as this. It was built into these alps, and everything was either grey or white. We did have stained glass windows, but we were always outside. Lupin was just a place to sleep. We had these beautiful trees though." I listed off, and a big red, and blue parrot swooped down over my head.
I ducked and smiled.
There was a snap of a twig off to the left. I looked up, and felt cold dread fill me. I furrowed my brows and touched Glimmer's hand. She stopped and looked at me.
"There's something over there." I whispered, and she narrowed her eyes.
Searching the heavy foliage, I looked for a sign. Sniffing I only picked up something metallic. A glint of fuchsia zeroed in my attention.
"Look out!" I yelled, and tackled Glimmer as a beam of light shot over us.
I rolled off Glimmer and got up. My canines elongated, and I swiped my claws as I ran forward. The bot moved out from the trees, and I snarled tripping it with my claws, and drove my fist into its glass face. It broke and powered down. I got down and rubbed my bleeding knuckles.
"That was a scout, it defended itself because we saw it." I said to Glimmer who ran over.
"Now would be a pretty good time to be a wolf." She added, and I nodded.
A second bot started though the trees, a way a way, Glimmer teleported over, and blasted it with sparkles. It did not do much damage, but it made it vulnerable. I ran over, jumped up, and used my legs to kick it back. I shifted and shook my ruff. Glimmer hopped on as more bots came out of the woods.
"Fall back!" Someone yelled, and Glimmer gasped.
"No, full force! Lets crush some Horde scum!" she commanded, and I hesitated but advanced. Glimmer, and I separated.
I barked, and howled, doing whatever I could to get the attention.
If I could get them away from Elberon the people would have a chance to evacuate.
Four of the six bots turned to me, and I shot into the woods, as the followed me. I trapped one bot in a tangle of roots, and I lost another to the river, the last two where still on my tail. Leaping into the air I changed to human again, trying to keep them guessing.
I grabbed a branch from the trees above and yanked. With a defining crack the branch broke off, and I swung around to face the bots, I swept the legs out from under it, and used the branch to anger the second bot. It raised up and fired a beam towards me.
Leaping aside, the beam caught the other, and it exploded. I threw the stick into the other one, and the rush of air propelled it into its possessing unit. I then flattened myself against a raised root and waited for the smoke to clear.
I stood up and shook the dirt out of my hair. My knuckles were sticky with blood, and my palms where covered with splinters.
I hissed in pain, and sucked my palm, spitting a few splinters out on the ground.
Something beeped, and I saw a little red light. I walked over, and looked down at the bot. A small red light was beeping, and I cocked my head. It was not a self-destruct thing, and I did not know what it was. I looked closely at it and poked the glass tentatively. The bot moved, and I stepped back. The branch was all the way in, and I could see the tip poking out of its back. It was leaking fluids and would not last long.
"Azure!" Someone called from the woods.
I looked around, and saw Bow coming through the trees.
"Azure! Are you okay?" Upon being asked this I felt lightheaded, and achy.
Bow made it to me as I sat down, and passed out...
