Can We Get Over It?
Azure's POV
I opened my eyes seconds after losing my air. I was packed in under the snow and began to panic. I forced my head back in the snow, unable to tell which was up or down. I tried to remember what Faust had told me the first time I went sledding...
"Spit..." I wheezed closing my mouth and accumulated a small bit of saliva in my mouth. I spat and winced as it fell back onto my furry cheek. Up. I forced myself to shift leaving a larger space for me to work as a human. I dug out the snow and gasped as the cool tundra air burst into the pocket. I hauled myself up onto the snow and looked around. I could hear hearts, faint under the snow, but still there.
The ice behind me burst, and Petra crawled out in a whoosh of fog. "Azure!" She gasped. Judging by her now human appearance, we had the same idea. "The others. Can you shift?" She asked, and I nodded.
I felt my aching bones twist, and I cried out softly at the effort. The small grunt turned to a whimper, and I opened my eyes.
Wasting no time, I located the nearest beating heart. I forced my paws into the snow, pulling chunks of ice out of the shallow hole I dug before my claws contacted with fabric. I lowered my muzzle into the hole and wrapped my teeth around the hood before pulling the body to the surface. Bow gasped for breath, and I set him down, searching about seven feet in the left for Glimmer. I dug her out in seconds and watched as Petra dug up Sea Hawk.
"Is everyone okay?" Bow asked tiredly.
"Well, I for one am shocked and terrified. What happened up there?" Sea Hawk asked, sounding more than offended at Adora's warped behavior. Glimmer narrowed her eyes.
"It's Entrapta's disc. It infected She-Ra once before." Glimmer informed him as I shuddered, my body twisting down to its human form. Sea Hawk stared wide eyed at me before bending over to the side and gagging. I watched him, annoyed.
"Oh, come on! It's not so bad." I frowned as Petra shrunk down as well.
"It's pretty bad." Bow mumbled through his gloved hand.
"Traitor." I growled.
"We've got to get to Catra and destroy it for good." Glimmer said, standing. Her aura pulsed with determination.
"Okay, let's go Glimmer. Teleport us up there. Adventure!" Sea Hawk shouted.
I slammed my hand over his mouth. "Do you want to be buried again? I for one, do not." I muttered to him.
"I can't." Glimmer groaned. "I exhausted my magic in the fight. Until I can recharge, we're climbing." Glimmer sighed, looking up.
"That's terribly inconvenient. Shouldn't you keep better count or something?" Petra snorted, and waked Sea Hawk in the back of his head.
Glimmer growled. "I hope Catra survives She-Ra so I can wipe that smirk off her face myself..." I threw my hands to the sky.
"Amen." Petra said quietly. I reached my hand to my hip, finding my axe still strapped to my belt, collapsed on itself for easier transportation, the blade secured in leather to protect my body.
"We should make a lifeline." Petra suggested, pulling a length of rope from under her coat.
"That's smart." I said, taking one end of the rope.
"Did you rock climb a lot in the Taiga?" Bow asked, and I shook my head as I turned to him, threading the rope through my empty belt straps.
"No. We just knew a lot of survival skills." I explained quickly. I helped secure the rope to Glimmer, then to Sea Hawk. Petra and Bow on my other side.
"We've got enough length to keep us from falling to our deaths, and enough to stretch out if needed." Petra informed us as we started the treacherous climb...
