Caffeine
Azure's POV
Sweat beaded on my brow, and plastered my hair to my face as I worked my leg to its max. I was jogging again, and it has been six weeks since Princess Perfuma joined the Rebellion. My heart thudded in my chest as I made my ninth lap around the training grounds.
It was a half mile run, and so far, my leg was holding its own. I was promised that in another few days I could try shifting again. I pushed myself harder and ran faster even though I was out of breath. I slowed to a stop, and sat down in the grass, it felt cool against my skin, and I took a drink of water from the canteen. Sitting up I saw Bow coming out this way.
"Hey Bow." I called standing and aimed my body in the direction of the hedges.
"Hi, um... Azure." He swallowed.
"W-What are you doing?" He asked, and I shook out my limbs.
"Working. Jump some obstacles with me?" I asked, and he perked up.
"Yeah sure!" He stood next to me, and I showed in the best position.
"You don't want to slow down or else you won't get far without ending up in the hedges." I said, and he nodded.
"Ready?" I asked as he nodded eyes locked on the first hedge.
"Go!" I called and shot forwards.
My limbs still aching from my four and a ½ mile run. I kicked off the ground, and leapt over the first hedge, Bow landed next to me, and we kept running. Four hedges later I realized Bow was one behind me.
"You good?" I called breathlessly as I leapt another two, not slowing down.
"How are you so fast?" He gasped back. I chuckled as I made it over the tenth, and last of the hedges.
Bow caught up a few minutes after. I waked him back and tossed him my water after taking a sip myself. He blushed and drank some of the water.
"So, your leg is all better now?" He asked, and I nodded looking it over.
"Yeah, but everybody still thinks I shouldn't shift for another week or so. Bow nodded, and I sat down laying on my back.
"So... it's a full moon tonight, are you guys going to be... okay?" He asked timidly, I shook my head playfully.
"That is a vicious stereotype, you've got nothing to worry about." I said, and he blushed again.
"Sorry." He muttered. I looked over at him surprised.
"Oh, I'm not offended, sorry if I sounded like it." I apologized, and Bow smiled.
"Oh, heh." There was a long pause before Bow spoke again.
"So... Glimmer is taking Adora, and I on a mission to Salineas. We're going to try and get Princess Mermista to join the alliance."
I eagerly threw myself onto him and straddled his waist. "Bow that is so cool!" I squealed, and he laughed, with a nod.
"Glimmer said you could come too if you wanted." My eyes went wide, and I stood up jumping around.
"Back into the field!" I hollered pumping my fists.
"We'll be leaving tomorrow morning; I think we should get packing." Bow said, and I grinned.
"Race you!" I called jumping up.
"How are you not tired?" Bow shrieked after me.
"I had caffeine!" I screamed at the top of my lungs as I ran into the palace...
