Battle Of Bright Moon pt 2
Azure's POV
Glimmer followed us out, and there was little, if not zero conversation, until Glimmer pointed out Adora who was outside, surveying the mess of the world.
"Adora, are you okay?" Glimmer asked timidly, and Adora did not move.
"Catra will be leading the Horde when they attack. I have to face her. I can't let her hurt anyone else." She said, her heartbeat betrayed her firm composure.
"What happened to you in that First One's temple?" Petra asked gently.
"I saw Catra in there. I thought I could get through to her, but all I did was push her father to the side of evil." Adora said, her fist flexing.
"Light Hope said I'd endanger my friends, by coming back, and she was right. Everything that's happening now is my fault." Adora said, voice full of regret, and guilt.
Glimmer wrapped her arms around Adora, and I watched with a fond smile.
"You've got this, and we've got your back." Glimmer assured her, and Bow joined the embrace.
Petra, and I pressed our foreheads together as we joined the hug. I felt safe, despite the dire circumstances.
"Now come on. The Horde will be here soon, and we have to be ready." Glimmer said, and the embrace broke.
We walked inside, and out of the storm.
"I guess resting is out of the question now?" I tried nervously, and Petra shrugged.
"With you being... well you, I don't think you'll sit this one out." Peta winked, and I nodded.
We made our way into Glimmer's room, and I sipped my coffee that Petra got for us. It was caffeine, some form of carbonated juice. It was bitter but energizing.
"Welcome to the Bright Moon armory! Well it's not really, but I've been stashing weapons in here for months." Glimmer said throwing open her closet doors.
Inside was a room full of weapons of various make, and design.
"Dibs on arrows!" Bow gasped and bolted inside. He cackled madly and took up an arrow to inspect it reverently.
Swift Wind tried to pull puppy Dog eyes on Adora, trying to convince her to allow him to use the mace on the wall.
"No" Adora said simply, and Swift Wind groaned.
Glimmer passed me a large battle axe, it was iron forged, with a curved blade, and a firm leather grip. I twisted the blade carefully, and blocked a few playful jabs from Petra, and her new spear. It was iron, and gold, woven together into a graceful, yet deadly point.
"Glimmer." I whirled around to see Angela, standing regally in the doorway
"Ah! Mom, how did you know we'd be in here?" Glimmer asked with a nervous gasp, and chuckle.
"Did you really think I wouldn't notice you were hoarding weapons?" Angela asked dully.
"I'm sorry mom." Glimmer sighed and walked up to her mother.
"I can't just stand by while my friends, and my home are in danger. I have to do this." Glimmer said, prepared for a scolding.
"I know." Angela said calmly, and Glimmer looked confused.
"Mom I- wait, what?" I watched Angela curiously, as they looked fondly at each other.
"I've been trying All these years I've been trying to mold you into someone more like me. But you are too stubborn, hotheaded, and brave like your father." She said, and holding back tears, she held out her hand, and with a twinkle of light, a staff appeared in her hand.
"This was your father's staff; I think it's time you had it"
Angela passed the staff to Glimmer, eyes shining with tears.
The staff was pastel in color, with a moon blade at the top. Glimmer whipped her tears and drew Angela into a hug. Bow sniffed happily and brushed a tear from his cheek.
There was a thundering sound, and the room shook. I grabbed onto the wall and shielded my head as bits of the ceiling crumbled and showered over us.
"They're here." Adora said and pulled out her sword.
"For the honor of Gray skull!" She shouted. The burst of light reflected on every weapon in the room. Adora stood in full glory, armor shining brilliantly.
Petra tossed me a chest plate, and I nodded at her. There was a snarl from outside, and I could feel the wolf presence of my brothers. I lid on the chest plate hurriedly and weighed the axe in my hands.
"You ready for this?" Petra asked, and I nodded.
"If this is to end in fire, then we shall all burn together." I said, and we pressed our foreheads together quickly.
We walked out to the balcony and stood in a line. Noah, and Faust on either side of us, dressed in obsidian armor, made specifically for their wolf bodies, and would change shape for their shifting bodies.
"We got this, right?" Bow smiled confidently to Adora, who nodded.
"Yeah, Definitely." I nodded, and Noah howled with a ferocious passion.
"They're going to be sorry, they even tried to mess with Bright Moon." Glimmer smirked adjusting her staff.
A ball of plasma shot up into the air headed for the Moonstone.
"Defend the castle." Adora commanded and leapt into the air.
She sliced the plasma shot in half, and sent it into the mountain, where they caused minimal damage. She then landed in the lake before the castle, and struck her sword across the water, sending up a wave which washed the tanks back a bit. Adora then stuck a tank and paused. I smelt it before it happened, but Adora was thrown back by an explosion. The tanks were rigged.
Almost immediately, a fleet of skiffs headed for us firing lasers, and plasma cannons shot up.
"Adora!" Glimmer gasped worriedly.
"Gah... She-Ra needs our help." Glimmer grunted though a glitch.
"Go to her. I'll keep the Moonstone lit, and the darkness away as long as I can." Angela commanded.
I nodded, and mounted Faust, as Petra sat astride Noah.
"You heard the Queen. For the Rebellion!" Swift Wind called as Bow, and Glimmer mounted him.
I grabbed Bow's hand, and he looked at me.
"Be safe... okay?" I asked worry lacing my tone. Bow smiled and nodded.
"Okay."
Swift Wind flew into the air, and Faust followed Noah down. We landed in the water with a splash, and we charged a skiff. Noah leapt up, and Faust went under. I bent back and slid my axe through the underside of the skiff. We met up on the other side as the skiff exploded.
A wave of energy from the moonstone washed over us, pushing the Horde father back. Bots appeared, and I saw Bow firing arrows, and Glimmer took down a bot.
"Azure!" Petra called, and I saw Noah swinging a bot around.
"Batter up!" I called, and Noah flung the bot towards us.
I swung my axe with all the power I had, and it slid cleanly though the bot. It knocked me back a bit, but I managed to stay on Faust.
A shot fired, grazing Faust's side, and he roared in pain, and an anger deep inside him. I felt the energy wash off him in waves as he turned. There were bots washing in from the cliffs, and skiffs full of soldiers. Faust reared up and launched himself forward. We crashed into a skiff, and I leapt off him, feeling adrenaline washing though my veins.
I landed on another skiff and started swinging senselessly. I felt my axe made contact numerous times, and wet, hot blood splatter onto my arms. I raged, and tore apart the skiff, and took down two bots. I was exhausted, but Netossa was soon at my side. She would capture four skiffs at a time, and I could easily disable them, making the skiffs shoot their riders sky high.
"Nice to see you out here." I said, panting as I deflected a blow from a soldier.
"I could say the same to you." She said from behind me, as we pressed out backs together.
"Swing me!" she commanded, and I locked arms with her, and swung her around, and released her into the air where she could use a net to knock a couple dozen bots off the cliff.
I was kicked from behind, and I rolled over to avoid being stuck with the plasma gun. I dodged, and soon Faust was beside me. He took the solider in his jaws and threw him. I lay in the water, panting. We were outnumbered by a thousand, and I was too weak to do much more. Faust nudged me, and I weakly pulled myself onto his back, and lifted my axe.
"We burn together." I mumbled, and Faust nodded as we marched back into battle.
I saw Adora surrounded by soldiers, and we rushed forward. I lazily swung my axe broad side, knocking away a few of them. Faust snapped his jaws as we fought to get to Adora. Spinerella appeared with Netossa, knocking away the soldiers, and she threw a net over us I lay against the cool armor plates, and panted.
"Adora? Adora come on, do not give up, please. We can still fix this, right? Please tell me we can fix this." Bow pleaded with Adora, who looked about ready to collapse.
"I... I'm sorry." Adora whispered. I stepped down from Faust and embraced her.
"It's okay." I whispered, and she nodded. I felt everyone press against us, but the darkness did not last long.
Adora looked down at her shield which glowed at the center stone.
Water bubbled up around us, and I looked around seeing a giant wave wash towards us. Mermista, and Sea Hawk on a ship riding the wave.
"Adventure!" Sea Hawk shouted, and held up a torch, but Mermista put it out quickly.
"Don't do that." She droned.
The water parted around us, and the wave took the skiffs, and pushed them back. The wave diminished, and the boat clunked behind us. Sea Hawk, and Mermista stood beside us, and Sea Hawk spread his arms.
"Ta-da." He chirped proudly.
"Mermista, Sea Hawk you came!" Adora smiled happily.
"Yeah, sorry it took so long the sea, kind of sucked today." Mermista said, making a point by gesturing to the grimy water.
I heard a few shouts form the Horde side, but luscious vines shot up, and tangled around the soldiers. Perfuma road a large, thick vine towards us, and hopped down.
"I saw the distress beacon. Are you all okay?" She asked, and Noah, ran over with Petra still clutching his fur.
A plasma blast shook the air around us, as it collided with the Moonstone tower.
"No!" I shouted as it shook and started to crumble.
Adora ran forward a few strides, but ice coated the tower stem, and corrected the brake. Mountains of ice shout up around it, and Frosta appeared at the scene.
"I hope, I'm not too late." She said raising a brow.
"No, you're right on time." Adora said with a smile.
"For Etheria!" Adora shouted, raising her sword, and a blinding flash spread from her sword, it touched everything, and the Moonstone lit once more, and the darkness disappeared.
I looked around at how bright it was, and hugged Faust. With a twinkle of Light, Glimmer teleported beside us.
"Glimmer you're sparking again!" Bow laughed happily.
"Yeah, what did I miss?" She asked eagerly.
"The Princesses are United; this is how it's supposed to be." Adora sighed. Mermista smirked at Perfuma.
"What do you say? Ready to finish this?" she asked, and Perfuma giggled. "I thought you'd never ask." She grinned. "We're in." Netossa smirked. "Let's do this already." Frosta said blatantly. I readied my axe, and Faust tossed his head. "For the Rebellion!" I howled, and we charged.
Mermista shot a wave over the tanks, dousing the plasma blasts. Perfuma strangled a few of the bots. Glimmer teleported next to me with Bow. She grabbed my hand, and with a flash of light, and a sudden change of gravity we then dropped from the sky. Bow fired three arrows before Glimmer teleported him out. I buried my axe into a bot and flipped it over my head landing in a crouch. Adora fired shots from her sword, hitting a line of bots that headed towards me. Adora landed near me, Between Bow, and Glimmer. Her sword glowed faintly.
A strange flare in the back of my mind pulled me forward. I touched Bow's shoulder, and a faint glow traveled up my arm where I connected with him. The silver light washed over my body, and I saw Noah, and Faust at the tail ends, and Petra across from me.
The light built up in energy, and warmed over in a giant wave of pure, elemental power. Everything was gone, all the tanks, and soldiers, and guns. It was all gone, turned over, and destroyed. I gaped in awe, and relaxed.
I sat down where I stood and breathed deeply. My axe fell to the ground next to me, and I pulled it into my lap to examine it.
"Adora it's over, Bright Moon is saved!" Bow cheered.
"And the princesses are finally united! We did it..." Glimmer added giddily. Petra ran to me and gave me a hug.
"Thank moons, we survived." She sighed, and I leaned into her.
"We did it." I breathed a sigh of relief, and hugged Petra.
There was a clearing of throat, and I turned to see Bow, blushing but looking rather confidant. Petra helped me up and turned to Noah. I stepped forward, and Bow picked me up, spinning me around.
I could not help but laugh and hug him right back. Once he set me down the adrenaline faded blissfully. I stared into his eyes, that shone like the coffee I had had before the battle, and his smile was too much for me. With a surge of confidence, I leaned in, and met him in a kiss. It was like the first, but even better. Heat rushed to my cheeks, and I threw my arms around his neck.
I breathed a deep sigh of content and gave him a hug. The kiss broke, and I stared into his eyes.
"You're okay?" I asked, and he nodded.
"Yeah, I'm Okay." I nodded, and he pecked my lips again.
I turned to see Angela walking towards Glimmer and envelop her in a hug. Angela looked up, and held out a hand to Adora, who hesitated, but Bow swept us in. I felt Petra with Noah, and Faust come closer too, and Adora shifted forms again, and smiled.
And thus, the Battle of Bright Moon was over, and I felt the energy of what was to come sweep forward.
"You know what I think?" Glimmer said.
"We should have a party. No chaos or Horde allowed." She said, and Frosta laughed. I smiled and shrugged.
"I don't know about you guys, but I say we have the party tomorrow, I am going into hibernation." I teased. Bow jerked up.
"What, really?! Is that a wolf thing?" Bow asked worriedly, and Faust laughed, gripping his bloodied ribs.
"Don't worry Bow, Azure isn't going anywhere for too long." I met Faust's eyes, and nodded.
"Right." I said, and quickly gave Bow another peck.
"You'll be sick of me, before you know it." I smiled, and Bow nodded down at me.
"That'll never happen..."
