Prologue

Why am I doing this?

Do I love causing myself mental anguish by writing new books?

This is all because I got Implacable and am now in a good mood to write this.

You know the drill...or don't if you haven't read my other books.

Unless stated.

I do NOT own any of the art/videos/gifs in this book.

They all belong to their respective creators.

This is a reader book, so Main Character looks is up to you.

(M/N) = Male Name

(H/C) = Hair Color

(E/C) = Eye Color

(S/C) = Skin Color

Is probably going to be a harem, though I will try my best to limit it as much as possible.

Though just to be clear, Shipgirls like Unicorn will NOT be shipped with the reader. If I have to be more clear: Shipgirls that look like children are not going to be shipped!

Doesn't matter their mental age. If they look and act like kids, then I'm not going to ship them end of story.

And apparently people get offended if you have an aged up version of them shipped. Which is weird if your just shipping their aged up selves and not them exactly.

I don't need anyone calling me a pedophile or what not!

Enjoy!

"War."

A female voice spoke out.

"The truth is, war never changes." She continued speaking. "No matter the era, it's exactly the same."

An eagle can be flying as the scene changes.

"In the age of discovery. Humanity sailed to oceans unknown, their hearts hungry for adventure."

Ships can be seen sailing across the oceans.

"However, those same hearts that desire adventure would soon be consumed with a different desire. The desire to conquer the seas."

The same ships can now be seen waging conflict for domination of the seas.

"Unfortunately," Here, her voice turns solemn. "A new, more frightening enemy appeared."

"Beings not of this world."

Massive purple portals opening in the sky, bringing forth ships of far more superior technology.

"The Sirens!"

The scene changes to the Siren wreaking havoc against humanity.

"With their vastly superior technology, the Sirens pushed humanity out of the oceans with no effort. Mankind no longer had a place in the seas for them."

Scene changes to a flag flapping with a logo on it.

"To stand against this alien threat, humanity band together and organized a global alliance."

"This organization: Azur Lane."

Their mission: to push back the threat of the Sirens and reclaim the seas for Humanity."

"Made of up four major camps: Eagle Union, Royal Navy, Iron Blood, and Sakura Empire."

"After a long and hard struggle. Azur Lane was finally able to repel the Sirens onslaught. Bringing us into a time of peace for humanity."

"...Which brings us too now."

Airplanes could be seen flying past a woman, the same woman who was also narrating as she stared out into the sea.

"Everything is set up for departure." A pink haired woman walked behind the gazing woman.

(Eagle Union Repair Ship: Vestal)

 "Please be careful."

"...Enterprise."

The woman just gazed at the sea; arm outstretched as her eagle landed on her arm.

(First one didn't have her eagle)

"The most important thing that history teaches: "Is that eras may change, but war never changes."

-Azur Lane Base-

The base was full of vigor and life as numerous shipgirls were milling about and going about their day.

(Light Cruiser Cleveland)

All the while, two blonde haired shipgirls were taking in the sights.

"Ah!" The shorter one shouted. "Things are starting to get pretty crazy around here!"

"Really."

(Battleship: Prince of Wales)

"Looks the same to me." She countered. "Overcrowded as usual with no end in sight."

Cleveland just giggled.

"And this is just with Eagle Union and the Royal Navy!" She laughed. "Bet you can't guess who's coming from my side!"

She taunted.

"I'll give you a hint, it's our greatest warrior with the most medals!"

"Ah." Prince of Wales smiled. "You are referring to the Grey Ghost are you not?"

"Yup!"

Cleveland confirmed.

"Hmm." Prince of Wales closed her eyes in amusement. "At least there is some relief in knowing that one of Eagle Union strongest will be here."

"And the Royal Navy main fleets should be arriving soon as well."

Cleveland just smiled.

"Oh! That reminds me!"

She suddenly remembered.

"Do you know when the Commander is getting here?"

"If memory serves me correctly." Prince of Wales placed a finger to her chin. "He should already be here and is currently setting up his office."

"WHAT!?"

Cleveland shouted, shock and surprise in her voice at that.

"Aw, come on! I wanted to show him around!"

She groaned.

"Is that all?"

Prince of Wales raised an eyebrow.

"...Well." Cleveland trailed off as they continue walking. "I've heard rumors that the Commander is rather young."

"Ah." Prince of Wales suddenly understood. "Yes, I know about those rumors."

"And...yes, they're true."

!?

"Are you saying the Commander a kid!?"

Cleveland shouted in shock.

"What?" Prince of Wales gave her a 'WTF are you talking about?' look. "NO! He's seventeen, Cleveland!"

"Oh..." Cleveland face turned red in embarrassment. "Okay...I was beginning to think that HQ was desperate for Commanders, and they went and hired kids now."

"Goodness gracious, no!" Prince of Wales exclaimed. "You have quite the imagination, Cleveland! Why would Naval HQ hire a child to lead an armada of Shipgirls against the Sirens?"

(...Stay on the safe side of the Internet Prince of Wales. And to everyone else as well. Once you go down that side of the Internet, there's no coming back)

"Why would they hire a teen?"

Cleveland shot back.

"According to the reports." Prince of Wales started. "There was a Siren attack last year where a Commander unfortunately lost his life in a surprise attack."

"Oh, yeah!" Cleveland blinked. "I remembered hearing about that. I just never heard about how they fought back against the Sirens without a Commander."

"Well...according to Unofficial reports." Prince of Wales continued. "Our new Commander, who lived in that area where the Sirens attached, displayed extraordinary leadership skills and was able to guide the Shipgirls stationed there into beating back the Sirens."

"After that, HQ made an exemption to enlist him as a Commander."

"Wow!"

Cleveland was greatly impressed by that.

"...He refused."

*Record screeching to a halt*

"Eh?" Cleveland blinked with a 'say that again' look on her face. "Say what now?"

"You heard me." Prince of Wales nodded. "He had no intentions of becoming a Commander after that. If memory serves me correctly, they had to beg him constantly before he finally agreed to become a Commander. Took them a lot of time since they couldn't exactly bribe him with the normal things that would have anyone salivating."

"A human that doesn't care for such material things?" Cleveland blinked. "That's new."

"Keep this a secret between us." Prince of Wales whispered. "They literally cling to his leg, begging him to join."

!?

"You're joking."

Cleveland had a deadpanned expression on her face.

"Wish I was." Prince of Wales also had such a look as well. "But no, he literally had to be dragging them everywhere, except the bathroom, until he finally gave in. if only so that they stop making complete fools of themselves."

"...He must be a diamond built differently among other diamonds."

Was all Cleveland just said.

What the actual fuck was wrong with those people?

'To be that determined to get him, a freaking teenager to join, that they would even sacrifice their dignity to get him to say yes. He must be something special.'

Then she suddenly realized something.

"Umm...correct me if I'm wrong but aren't boys horny little bastards when they're teens?"

"He did outright say that." Prince of Wales. "Or to be more exact, his words were: 'Don't blame me if my hormones get the better of me."

"...So, he might get handsy with some of us?"

Cleveland asked.

"He might." Prince of Wales shrugged. "But I think he's more concerned of being ara ara'd by certain horny girls then he is of his hormones getting the best of him."

"...Oh yeah, them."

Cleveland shuddered.

"I think the Commander has his work cut out for him." Cleveland just said. "He's going to be more focused on avoiding certain people than trying to get laid."

"Oh!" Prince of Wales looked at the dock. "Seems like Illustrious is already here."

"Really!?" Cleveland shouted. "Then let's go!"

Cleveland ran ahead.

Going past a cloaked figure as she did so.

"Hurry up, slowpoke!" Cleveland shouted. "We don't got all day."

"Patience, Cleveland." Prince of Wales smiled. "Don't rush."

She said going past the cloaked figure as well.

The figure kept walking alongside the harbor.

Whish!

Before the winds suddenly picked up and revealed the figure identity.

(Destroyer: Ayanami)

"Ah." The girl monotone voice said. "Hm."

She stared blankly at a distance.

-Port-

A tall woman could be seen walking down the ramp.

"Illustrious!"

Prince of Wales called to the woman.

"Oh?"

(Aircraft Carrier: Illustrious)

Illustrious noticed the two waiting for her.

"How unexpected." Illustrious spoke to them. "An unexpected honor indeed. For her Majesty to come here from high on up to greet me. Whatever for?"

"Stop that." Prince of Wales smiled. "We're old friends, we haven't seen each other for so long I thought it be a good idea to see you again."

Chuckling, Illustrious smiled.

"Indeed it has, good day old friend."

Turning her head to Cleveland.

"And who is this young lady with you?"

She asked.

"I'm Cleveland!" The Light Cruiser introduced herself. "I'm from the Eagle Union, I've heard many stories about you from Prince here!"

Illustrious giggled at that.

"All good things I hope?"

"Heh!" Cleveland smiled, before turning her head to Illustrious little tagalong. "Oh?"

She bent down a bit, startling the shy girl.

"Oh!" She hid behind Illustrious back.

(Sorry, not sorry. Here's another one)

(Light Aircraft Carrier: Unicorn)

Peeking shyly from behind.

"Hi there!" Cleveland greeted.

"Ah!"

Unicorn hid herself completely behind Illustrious.

(Are they sisters? I don't remember exactly)

"Hmm?"

Cleveland tilted her head.

Giggling softly, Illustrious turned to Unicorn a bit.

"You'll have to forgive her, she's a bit shy."

The Aircraft Carrier explained.

"She's not used to being around others."

"Oh! That's okay!"

Cleveland just said, taking it all in stride.

Illustrious smiled, as Prince of Wales just shook her head.

"Come." Prince of Wales simply said. "Let us head back in, it's a little bit windy today."

"Okay." "Right!"

Illustrious and Cleveland agreed as they headed into the base.

-Azur Lane Academy-

"Hood and the others should be arriving shortly."

Illustrious reported as she casually sipped her tea.

Cleveland sitting on a chair, her coat off.

"Hm." Prince of Wales nodded at that. "And what of Iron Blood? Any idea on what they're doing right now?"

She turned away from the window she was facing as she looked at her old friend.

"...Right now, there's a temporary lull." Illustrious reported. "But for now, we have a bigger concern at the moment that ties in with that faction."

"...Sakura Empire."

Prince of Wales confirmed.

"Yes." Illustrious nodded. "Ever since we beat back the Sirens, there has been discontent about the way humanity and Shipgirls should handle future battles."

"Hm." Prince of Wales frowned. "If the Sakura Empire intends to betray us. Then this base would most definitely be the first place of attack."

"Would they really do that though?"

Cleveland finally spoke up.

"We have the Royal Navy and Eagle Union stationed here. Not to mention we have the new Commander already here."

"Only the official reports were ever read." Illustrious spoke up. "They have no idea what the new Commander is really capable of. To them, enlisting a teen and only sending him to the front lines just shortly after turning 17. They might be of the belief that HQ is losing their touch."

"A reasonable concern, though." Prince of Wales admitted. "But...their activities in the past years have made them rather suspect and giving them such valuable information might risk harming us."

"Do you think they would try to entice the new Commander if they knew his part in that battle to their side?"

Cleveland asked.

"Perhaps." Prince of Wales considered. "He might be a Commander now, but he is still a boy, more specifically a teenage boy. They might think to try to seduce him using their feminine charm."

"Especially...certain somebodies."

The air grew awkward at that.

Knowing exactly who she was referring to.

"...You do realize that sooner or later he's going to encounter them right?"

Cleveland asked.

"We'll cross that bridge when it comes."

Illustrious simply said.

"Still..." She continued. "Why wage such a meaningless conflict?"

Before Prince of Wales could speak.

"It's because of different ideologies."

A new male voice spoke up.

Startling the three as they turned to the door to see a (H/C) haired, (E/C) eyed, (S/C) skinned male closing the door.

"Commander!"

Prince of Wales stood at attention.

Causing the other two to follow suit.

"At ease."

The teen sighed.

The three did so.

"So!" Cleveland spoke up. "You're the new Commander, eh?"

"Not bad."

She said, looking him up and down.

He wasn't overly muscular, but definitely well-toned for a teen. Had messy hair, and looked like something who was a sports type of person.

(Height can be what you want it to be.)

Overall, someone she felt that she could get along with rather well.

"Not bad at all."

"Cleveland!"

Illustrious chastised.

"It's okay."

He sighed.

"Well, introductions are in order."

He said.

"I'm (M/N) (L/N). Azur Lane new Commander from this point on. Nice to be working with you."

He greeted them.

"It will be a pleasure working with you, Commander."

Illustrious got up and walked over to him. Bowing her head as she spoke.

*Boing!*

And unintentionally having her breasts bounced up from the movement.

"Ye-Yeah."

(M/N) turned his head, face bright red at the beautiful woman...bountiful assets.

'Fuck you, hormones!'

(M/N) mentally screamed as he tried not to get hard.

"Commander?"

Illustrious tilted her head.

"Are you okay?"

!!!

"F-fine!" (M/N) unintentionally shouted out, startling her.

"Your face is red." Illustrious put a gloved hand on his forehead.

...Giving him an even closer view of her chest.

'AHHH!!'

(M/N) mentally screamed.

This is why he didn't want to be a COMMANDER!

While (M/N) was having a meltdown, Cleveland nudged Prince of Wales side.

"On second thought, this might not be so bad after all." Cleveland snickered. "If we get to see this kind of reaction, then I'm all for having a teenage Commander."

"Don't be so mean, Cleveland."

Prince of Wales 'scolded' though secretly amused for some reason.

"You seem fine." Illustrious finally pulled back.

Giving (M/N) some much needed space.

'Why do I feel the desire to keep my distance from Royal Navy maids?'

*Hehehehe....*

A random just laughed.

'Shut up, you!'

(M/N) twitched.

"Anyways." Prince of Wales changed the subject. "What did you mean by different ideologies?"

Oh, yeah.

That.

"Even if we're united in facing a common enemy, the methods used by each factions is fundamentally different from one faction to the next."

(M/N) explained.

"Many feel that using one type of method is taking too long to reclaim the seas and have resorted to different kinds of other methods to achieve absolute victory over the Sirens."

"But some of these are (more or less) outlawed by Naval HQ and would not be allowed to be implemented into place. This has caused some conflict between factions, since some believe that they must delve into the forbidden to obtain the power to destroy the Sirens. While others believe in the technology that humans have developed so far."

"Some have a mentality of "Survival of the Fittest' and desire to be the faction to lead the other factions. Internal strife has also been present between all factions."

"And from what little I know...the Sakura Empire seems to be interested in utilizing Siren technology to fight the Sirens."

...

"Yes..." Prince of Wales hummed. "That has also been Her Majesty concern as well."

"Iron Blood seems to want to prove that their technology is the best of the best."

(M/N) crossed his arms at that.

"Of course, the other issue is that...with the Sirens keeping low right now. We have no common enemy to constantly fight against. And with no enemy, philosophies, ideologies, personal beliefs...there is nothing to hold them back from making themselves known."

...

"Warfare never changes." Prince of Wales stared at the sea. "After all, that is why WE were brought into existence."

...

"Say..." Cleveland spoke up. "Whatcha doing here anyways? I thought you were unpacking your stuff."

"I didn't have much to bring with me." (M/N) shrugged. "And I finished rather fast. Thought I take a look around and see the place for myself."

"Best to get used to the layout of the base and eventually meet the people I'm going to be working with."

"I see."

Cleveland simply said.

"But now I should head back." (M/N) sighed. "After all, paperwork isn't going to fill itself out."

"Later."

"Later!" "Bye." "Take care."

Were the Shipgirls response as the teen headed back to his office.

-Commander Office-

"What a hassle."

(M/N) groaned.

"Now I see why other Commanders didn't want to be in charge of this base."

Apparently the fear of paperwork was enough to kill off their horniness.

"Sucks to be you."

A random voice laughed out loud.

"Oh, shut up!"

(M/N) growled.

"Nope!"

The voice popped out.

"Consider this karma for being an idiot back then."

"What did you expect me to do?"

(M/N) quizzically asked.

"Watch as the Sirens destroyed my home? The only thing I have left?"

"Then just find a new home." The voice said. "Simply as that."

"Too lazy."

(M/N) deadpanned.

"Besides, what's done is done." He added. "Now, all we can do is try to end this war once and for all."

Turning his head to the window, he sighed.

"Besides, the Sakura Empire is beginning to make their move."

His gaze focused on a certain Destroyer trying to act inconspicuously, yet failing due to the fact that the other Shipgirls didn't even consider her an enemy and just a really shy person.

Humming, he finally said.

"Let's see where this leads us."

Done.

Made it a little bit too long for a prologue but whatever.

So, we have introduced several people and met (M/N).

...Who's probably going to have a heart attack being surrounded by big boobed women.

(Even though to me it's kind of funny. Which Cleveland apparently thinks the same)

Also, a bit of a backstory.

When he was 10, Sirens attacked his home killing many people. His parents among them so he's an orphan.

There's more that will be added later, but for now.

We got sneaky Shipgirls with an unknown agenda.

Dramatic girls who are trying to be edgy.

A teen in fear of losing his virginity.

And a random voice haunting our protagonist.

Wonder who could that be?

Who knows?

...Well, I know. Just got to figure out how to reveal it.

Have a good day/night!
