Attack on Azur Lane: Aftermath
New chapter in!
Might have made some obvious hints about (M/N) friend in his head.
Oh, well.
Don't own the art or the gif.
Enjoy!
*Splash* *Splash*
The sound of lifeboats carrying Azur Lane feathery helpers.
(Manjuu. I know, not that scene but there is like no pictures I can find of them, besides gifs)
Could be heard as they escorted the exhausted Shipgirls back to shore.
"I anticipated that the Sakura Empire would make the first move."
Prince of Wales admitted as she and Illustrious watched one Manjuu hook an unconscious San Diego and drag her through the water as they headed back to shore.
"But I never thought that it would be this quick." She continued. "Nor that they would be using Siren technology in that manner."
"Sakura Empire always did favor a more daring approach."
Illustrious spoke up.
"But who knew they were going to this extent to prove their ideology."
"It's also no surprise that they would join forces with Iron Blood."
Illustrious also added. Remembering Akagi declaration of war.
As she and Prince of Wales stared at a Siren plane that was slowly disintegrating.
"Both coveting the power of Siren technology."
"Honestly." She watched Cleveland checking up on some of her sisters. "If it wasn't for the Commander and Enterprise, things could have been much worse."
It was true.
The base was fairly unscratched thanks to some quick thinking on (M/N) part.
"So..." Prince of Wales observed a certain Eagle Union ship. "That's Enterprise."
Scene cuts to a stoic Enterprise walking on her deck.
...Her damaged deck.
"Truly, I can see why she's Eagle Union mightiest warrior."
Prince of Wales finished.
"Yes." Illustrious agreed, but with a somber look in her eyes. "But at great risk to her own existence."
She sighed at that.
"Her strength is seemingly limitless, and she fights like an arrow loosed from its bow."
Prince of Wales observed.
"And yet..."
She trailed off.
Remembering how reckless and insane Enterprise was when facing off against Kaga.
*Screech*
A bird flew off as Enterprise turned to the side.
"Let's not forget that a bow strung too tightly will inevitably snap and break."
Illustrious mused.
"And besides her." She sighed. "We still have one other matter to deal with."
"Namely, our third savior."
"..."
The two turned to see a stoic Tirpitz standing on the highest point of her ship as she gazes out to the sea.
Her expression betraying nothing as the wind blew through her hair, causing it to ruffle from the wind blowing it. Arms crossed in contemplation.
Her riggings growling and moving around her.
(Are they mechanical sharks? Or are they called something else?)
"Tirpitz."
Prince of Wales slowly said.
"Sister of Iron Blood leader Bismarck."
"It is a surprise that she is here." She admitted. "Last anyone heard she was up in the North on an assignment by Iron Blood."
"Why then, has she abandoned her post and left her Faction?"
Was the one thing she did not get.
"Perhaps the answer lies with the Commander."
Illustrious offered.
"Hm...that might be true."
Prince of Wales conceded.
"Remember what she told Akagi when asked why she betrayed her Faction?"
"I'm not 'allying with my Faction enemy'." Tirpitz corrected. "I'm simply following my Commander orders. Have been since last year when he had to lead us after the previous Commander perished in battle."
"She was there when the Sirens suddenly launched a massive attack after years of silence." Prince of Wales realized. "I'm not sure the reason why she was there in the first place, but it seems that she pledged her loyalty to the Commander and in a sense, allied with Azur Lane."
"Hm...it can't have been easy." Illustrious hummed. "After all, despite her resolve she is turning her back against her Faction."
"My bigger concern is Hood." Prince of Wales admitted. "After all, Bismarck was the one who shot her down. Will she be okay with Tirpitz around? The Royal Navy Main Fleet should be arriving soon."
"If the Commander says it's okay, then Hood and the others must put aside their grudges for the time being." Illustrious said. "And I can say with certainty that Hood will not hold it against her for what her sister did."
"True." Prince of Wales nodded her head. "And besides."
Here a smile made its way to her face.
"She might consider it perfect revenge if Tirpitz is working with us and against them."
"Oh, my." Illustrious giggled. "Revenge is not ladylike you know."
"And yet you're laughing."
Prince of Wales pointed out.
Illustrious just giggled.
"Speaking of the Commander." Illustrious just realized. "Where is he?"
(M/N) was nowhere in sight.
"I do believe Tirpitz told him to go take a shower and get out of his wet clothes." Prince of Wales said. "After all...that was a RECKLESS move he made."
Here, she growled.
"And we ARE going to be having a talk with him about that."
"Kid could have gotten sick or even worse, killed."
-Scene change-
"ACHOO!"
(M/N) sneezed.
"Getting a cold?" ??? asked. "That's what you get for being stupid."
'You, shut up.'
(M/N) growled as he got out of the shower.
Drying himself up and getting into new clothes he started walking out to survey the damage.
"Well, it's true."
The voice said.
"That was pretty reckless of you to pull such a stunt. Were you trying to expose yourself?"
"You know what will happen if they decide to see who the new Commander is."
'I know that.' (M/N) retorted. 'And I'm not sick, someone talking about me.'
"Probably the girls." The voice said. "About how brave and stupid you are. Especially with, what was her name again? Ah, yes!, Prince of Wales. Poor girl must have gotten a heart attack with that stunt you pulled."
"Yeah, yeah." (M/N) muttered out loud. "I was being an idiot, what else is new?"
"Hmph!" The voice scoffed. "Remember, (M/N)."
"You know how protective and possessive I am of you."
"Yeah, yeah."
(M/N) grumbled.
"Like Seele and Veliona from Honkai Impact."
"So, long as you understand." The voice simply said. "We are bonded in a way that is not normal."
"After all."
"You are me, and I am you."
The two spoke in perfect synchrony.
"I know..."
(M/N) sighed.
Covering one half of his face as his visible eye glowed.
"...My other half: Sin."
-Scene change-
"Almost there!" Cleveland voice could be heard. "Keep it steady!"
*Rumble*
"Great." Cleveland sighed as she looked at the damage. "Of all the times to not have a Repair Ship on hand."
Scene moves to another area.
"NOOO!!" San Diego cried. "Look at my ship Q_Q!!"
We can see San Diego ship looking like it's been put through the ringer.
(When I saw that scene I was like MAN! Was that personal or what?)
"It's bad."
Glowworm sweatdropped.
"Hup!"
Cleveland was going down a net when she spotted Enterprise on the docks.
"Hey!"
Cleveland shouted as she landed on the concrete.
Grabbing Enterprise attention.
"What are you doing?!" Cleveland shouted. "You need to rest!"
...
"I'm fine." Enterprise simply said. "All emergency repairs have been made."
"Are you kidding me!?" Cleveland shouted. "Look at your ship!"
Enterprise ship barely looked like it was hanging on as cracks and holes could be seen all over the ship.
"We can't let our guard down."
Enterprise started walking away, only to slightly stumble.
*Catch*
"Whoa there!"
(M/N) voice startled the two as he caught Enterprise.
"You call that okay?"
"Commander!"
Cleveland shouted in surprise.
"Hey, Cleve."
(M/N) greeted as he turned his attention back to Enterprise, with a serious look on his face.
"Get some rest."
He ordered.
"What? But Commander!"
Enterprise tried to argue.
"No buts." (M/N) shot her argument down. "I appreciate everything you have done, but even a great warrior such as yourself needs to rest."
"But the enemy!"
Enterprise weakly tried to argue.
"Don't make me sic Yorktown on you."
!!!
"You wouldn't..."
Enterprise tried to stay brave, but sweat could be seen falling down her face.
"Try me."
(M/N) rose to her challenge.
"...Fine."
Enterprise shoulders slumped in defeat as (M/N) escorted her to the dorms.
After all, the Commander orders were absolute.
"Good grief."
Cleveland facepalmed.
"If I had known that using Yorktown as a threat would get her to listen, I would have done that a long time ago."
Scratching her head, she proceeded to follow them in case Enterprise tried to make a break for it.
-Somewhere in the sea-
"Oh, dear!" Akagi pouted. "You took quite the hit."
"Let me clean you up."
"Much appreciated, Akagi." Kaga said. "But why do you need to be so close to do it?"
What the white haired fox girl was referring to was the fact that Akagi was leaning closely to her. Lovignly taking care of her wounds as she did so.
In a way, that made it rather intimate.
"Because it's fan service for the viewers."
Akagi simply said.
"...Huh?"
Kaga blinked.
What did she say?
"Because I need to make sure that there are no missed wounds on you."
Akagi explained.
"..."
'Could have sworn I heard her say something else.'
Kaga thought to herself.
"Oh." Akagi said, noticing the scratch on her cheek. "Seems like your beautiful face wasn't left alone."
"It's fine, sister." Kaga said. "I can just use some ointment to deal with it. It's not too bad."
"No, no." Akagi tutted. "That simply won't do."
Leaning closer, she...licked the wound?
...Da fuck?
"There." Akagi smiled. "All better!"
*Sigh*
Kaga sighed, a little bit exhausted at her sister's antics.
"Sister, you know you don't have to go to far."
Kaga sighed.
"After all." Kaga clenched her hands, grabbing her skirt. "We aren't truly related..."
*Sigh*
This time it was Akagi turn to sigh at her silly little sister.
"I understand." She smiled. "But we are as close to actual sisters as possible. And elder sisters must always take care of their baby sisters."
"...Thanks, Elder Sister."
Kaga softly said.
For a few seconds, everything was calm and quiet.
*Thud*
Until a noise snapped Kaga out of her thoughts as she stood up and looked around.
"Oh. Bad time?"
A Shipgirl with an accent spoke up.
"I can come back later."
"Prinz Eugen."
(Heavy Cruiser: Prinz Eugen)
(Also, for the Shipgirls with accents. Imagine them speaking in their accents. I'll try to write how they speak, but I'm no miracle worker. And that would probably take more time than I would like)
Kaga calmly greeted her.
"What do you want?"
She demanded.
"Well, for one." Eugen smiled. "How about easing up on the glare, no? We are allies after all."
She said as she swung herself off the pole she was sitting on.
"I of Iron Blood and you of the Sakura Empire."
"Allies, huh?" Kaga mused. "Sure, didn't see you helping out during the assault."
"Well, now." Prinz Eugen smiled. "I had to see what our new allies are capable of. After all, we might have the same goal, but if one side can't keep up. Then I'm afraid this alliance would probably be sink rather fast."
"Hmph!"
Kaga scoffed.
"That's enough."
Akagi got up.
"Did you needed something, Prinz Eugen of Iron Blood?"
She asked.
"Nothing much." Prinz Eugen just shrugged. "Thought I see how you fared against Azur Lane and their new Commander. Can't have been too tough to beat them judging by you two barely have any injuries."
...
'...Uh-oh.' Kaga gulped as she nervously sweated. 'I was making sure that the topic of HIM did not slip past my lips!'
'Especially with that look she was having as they left!'
"The Commander."
Akagi purred, causing Eugen to blink.
"What..."
She turned to look at Kaga, who gave her a menacing death glare.
"Great job, you idiot." Kaga growled. "Now you have her back in her fantasy world."
"...Uhhh."
Eugen was confused.
"The Commander is a handsome young man." Akagi purred, licking her lips. "I can't wait to test his mettle and mate with him."
!?
"Ooookay?"
Now Prinz Eugen was out of the loop.
*SIGH*
Kaga decided to just go ahead and tell her.
"The Commander is actually young."
She admitted.
Prinz Eugen eyes widened.
"Oh, my GOD!" She clapped her face with her two hands. "They're enlisting little boys, now!?"
"WHAT?!" Kaga and Akagi just stared at her like she was crazy. "NO!! He's a teenager!"
"...Oh." Prinz Eugen sweatdropped at breaking character. "Sorry, when you he said he was young I thought that he was literally a child."
"...What is this?" Kaga asked rhetorically. "A hentai reality?"
"Well..." Eugen sweatdrop. "I can think of two people who wouldn't let the age thing stop them."
...
"You have them too?" Kaga raised an eyebrow. "We got Atago, Taihou, and Akagi for that."
"HEY!"
Akagi shouted.
"You're obsessed with the Commander." Kaga pointed out. "Regardless of gender, if they're a Commander, it's free real estate for you."
"...I mean that's kind of true." Akagi protested. "But I wouldn't do that!"
"..."
"..."
"..."
"...Ara, Ara."
Kaga simply said.
"...Just because I said that to the Commander doesn't mean I'm a Shotacon!"
Akagi shouted, face red.
"Your country industries say otherwise."
Prinz Eugen pointed out.
"Can we just drop it!?"
Akagi snapped.
"We have other things to deal with at the moment!"
"True." Eugen conceded. "About the Commander."
"He is young." Kaga began. "But he has some talent in leading."
"He's not naïve." Akagi added. "He seems to understand our reasoning. But believes we are being too foolish with handling the Siren Technology."
She said as she held the Siren Cube in her hand.
"Yes." Prinz Eugen smirked. "Quite the display you put on, even if they were just the mass-produced ships. It made all the difference."
"Though I have to wonder." She mused. "Did you back off because of your love for the Commander? Or because of something else."
Kaga twitched as Akagi answered.
"It would make things dreadfully boring if I had chosen then and there to destroy the base." She said. "If I intend to show the true might of the Red Axis, we need someone to be there to witness the fruits of our labor."
"Ah." Prinz Eugen grabbed a treat from the seat.
"Plus." Akagi looked into the distance. "There is also the matter of her. She's quite a special ship that one, you do well not to underestimate her."
"Eagle Union's Enterprise, ja." Prinz Eugen mused as she fed her pet riggings. "Also known as Grey Ghost."
"True." She admitted. "She can be quite the troublesome one."
*Fwoosh*
A red paper crane flew in front of Akagi and Kaga.
"My seniors." Zuikaku voice spoke up. "We're in position."
"Good." Akagi nodded. "We have some time for a little more fun."
"Fifth Division, they're all yours."
"Understood."
The paper crane burned away.
"Now then." Akagi turned to face Eugen. "Mind doing us a little favor?"
"Hm?"
Prinz Eugen looked at her.
"Our juniors have found a group far from Azur Lane." Kaga stated. "We shouldn't squander this chance to inflict some more damage to their arsenal."
"I trust my juniors, but I can't help but worry."
Akagi sighed.
"I would feel much better if Prinz Eugen, famed warrior of Iron Blood was on their side to lend support."
"Hmm."
*Tonk!!*
The pick landed in front of Kaga.
Kaga griited her teeth.
"I suppose I should I honor Iron Blood side of the bargain." Prinz Eugen nodded. "After all, we are allies now und we should have each other backs."
Smiling, she started walking.
"I'll be taking Z23 and your friend Ayanami with me."
"But of course." Akagi smiled. "We would be honored to witness your true strength."
Smiling, Prinz Eugen left.
Once she was sure Eugen was gone and well out of earshot, Kaga turned to Akagi.
"You're not going to tell her about her?"
She asked, referring to Tirpitz.
"Overcoming adversity is what helps make us stronger." Akagi smiled. "And what better way to test their resolve then by letting them find out the truth on their own?"
"I wonder."
Akagi smiled.
"Will they be able to fight one of their own. Or would their hesitance lead to their downfall? Maybe they'll try to take her back home."
"The possibilities are endless and I look forward to seeing how ironclad their resolve is."
"Very well, sister."
Kaga nodded.
On another part of the ship, Ayanami can be seen watching the sunset in silence.
"Ayanami."
Only to be interrupted as a new Shipgirl made her appearance.
"...Z23."
Ayanami greeted.
(Destroyer: Z23)
"We're being deployed on a new mission, so let's go."
"Already, huh?"
Ayanami pondered.
"Yes." Z23 nodded. "The enemy is currently weak at the moment; we must strike before they regain their strength."
"Enemy, huh."
Ayanami hummed.
Remembering Javelin, Laffey, Unicorn, and the Commander.
And how kind they were to her.
'I think the Commander knew I was spying on them.' She thought to herself. 'And yet...he still didn't treat me differently nor even tried to expose me. As the Commander, his word would have been taken very seriously.'
Out loud, she said.
"It's not that I don't want to fight." She admitted. "Rather that I feel that it's not something I can enjoy."
"WACH AUF!" Z23 shouted. "It doesn't matter whether you like it or not!"
"Then what about you?" Ayanami asked. "Do you like it?"
"Urk!" Z23 turned blue at that. "It doesn't matter whether I like it or not, we are warships after all."
She turned to look at the golden sea.
"It's our purpose and why we were brought into existence for."
"Hmm..." Ayanami turned to the sea again. "Is that really all there is to it? That can't be all."
"..."
Z23 kept silent.
"I wonder...maybe the Commander might know."
!?
"The Commander!?" Z23 turned her head to the Sakura Empire Destroyer. "You met him?!"
"..."
Ayanami said nothing.
"...Yes." She then admitted. "His hand was warm, and I felt...safe. Like I could trust him."
"I think he realized why I was there, but never said anything."
"..."
"Safe...huh?"
Z23 mused.
The two just stared at the setting sun.
-The next day-
*VRRRMM!!*
"Move it!"
A cat girl shouted as she raced towards Azur Lane.
"Hammann, slow down!"
Northhampton
(Heavy Cruiser Northampton)
Shouted.
"Are you kidding me!?"
(Destroyer: Hammann)
Hammann shouted.
"How can I slow down when my base is being threatened right now!?"
"Because we already told you that they were able to push back the Sakura Empire attack."
Helena
(Light Cruiser: Helena)
Reminded her.
"We need to hurry!"
Hammann screamed, not having heard a word they said.
*SPLASH!!*
She left a wave water in her wake.
"That girl." Northampton deadpanned. "How is she so spastic all the time?"
"This ghost is tired."
(Light Aircraft Carrier: Long Island)
Long Island sighed.
"I need to sleep."
"It's still a relief that the enemy forces were pushed back."
(Battleship: Arizona)
Arizona commented.
"I heard it was thanks to Enterprise and the new Commander that things were not worse."
"Oh?" Northampton said. "The new Commander is already there, huh?"
"And Enterprise?" Here, she turned to their last member. "Hornet, isn't that your?"
The girl simply held her hat down, with a smile on her face.
"Yep!"
(Aircraft Carrier: Hornet)
"My reckless sister." She just laughed. "It's not easy beign related to a famous champion that is considered the backbone of the Eagle Union."
"Wonder how the new Commander is handling her?"
-Azur Lane-
"SUBMIT!"
(M/N) yelled.
"NEVER!!"
Enterprise yelled back as (M/N) dug his heels to the ground. Refusing to let Enterprise escape.
"GO. TO. SLEEP!!"
(M/N) yelled as he tried to force her back on bedrest.
"I'M. FINE!!"
Enterprise yelled.
The Shipgirls just sweatdropping at the scene.
"Sleep sounds good."
Except Laffey, who is just tired.
-Back to sea-
"Eh, I'm sure it's all good."
Hornet said.
'Why don't we believe you?'
The other girls sweatdropped.
"Hey!" Hammann shouted. "Less chitchatting, more surfing!"
"The enemy could show up at any moment!"
"Right!" Hornet agreed. "That's a good point, we should speed things up just in case."
With that said, she surfed faster.
*PING*
Helena sonar suddenly went off.
!?
"Everyone, wait!"
She shouted getting their attention.
"What's wrong?"
Arizona asked.
"Being slow is what's wrong!"
Hornet shouted as she stared up ahead.
"Sakura Empire Carriers!"
Arizona frowned.
"They look strong!"
Long Island shivered.
"They're nothing than a bunch of bathtub tugboats!" Hammann cracked her knuckles. "Let me handle these goons!"
"HMM."
Hornet frowned.
'Not good.' She thought to herself as she got ready. 'Let's hope reinforcement will get here soon!'
On the ship.
"OH!" A white haired, blue eyed girl bemoaned her fate. "Why are our superiors so mean to me!?"
(Aircraft Carrier: Shoukaku)
"I didn't do anything bad! Right Zuikaku?"
Said girl stood on her own ship.
Turning to her, she said: "You really shouldn't take it personally big sis. This is the perfect opportunity to show our strength to the First Carrier elders."
"I see." Shoukaku got up from the ground and stop being a drama queen. "Leave it to you to think ahead, dear sister. Just know I'll always have your back!"
She place her flute to her mouth.
"Hmph!" Zuikaku swung her sword as flames erupted around her. "And so long as you're here, I have nothing to fear!"
She shouted as they launched their attack.
-Azur Lane-
"We have to help Hornet and the others!" Prince of Wales shouted as she finished reading the distress signal. "Which ships are ready!?"
"Truthfully?" (M/N) sighed, having finally somehow tied Enterprise to the bed.
(NOT in that way, you kinky fools!)
"Hardly any."
!!!
"At the moment." He frowned. "We have Javelin, Laffey, Unicorn, You, Illustrious, Cleveland, and Tirpitz. But we cannot afford to let everyone go."
"He's right." Illustrious nodded. "As hard as it is, we can only send at least one or two."
"Gnh!" Prince of Wales gritted her teeth. "Commander!"
"Hmm?"
(M/N) stared.
"Any chance we could send Tirpitz by herself?"
"No." (M/N) shook his head. "Even for someone as powerful as her, if Iron Blood is assisting in this attack then even she would be hard pressed to win."
"Someone has to go with her."
"Okay." Prince of Wales put a gloved hand to her chin in a thinking position. "But who?"
*BANG!!*
"Commander!" Javelin shouted.
"Huh?!" (M/N) blinked at the sudden intrusion. "What's wrong?"
"It's Enterprise!" She shouted. "She's gone!"
"SHE'S WHAT!?"
(M/N) shouted.
"How the fuck did she...why the hell did I think to tie with normal ropes?"
(M/N) facepalmed.
"I'm an idiot." He sighed. "Alright, fine. Javelin, Laffey."
The two destroyers stood to attention.
"Go after and provide as much support as you can."
He ordered.
"Right!"
The two quickly ran out.
"Is that really wise, Commander?"
Prince of Wales asked.
"They just need to hold out." (M/N) crossed his arms. "Until the Royal Navy Main Fleet arrives."
!!!
"Right then." Prince of Wales nodded. "But if things go south, Illustrious and I will head there as well."
"Very well."
(M/N) nodded.
"Tirpitz is most likely following them to make sure they're safe."
"And something tells me Cleveland isn't letting Enterprise go by herself."
-On the sea-
"Hey!" Cleveland shouted at her fellow Eagle Union Shipgirl. "Slow down!"
"I can't!" Enterprise shouted. "I can't slow down now! I need to get to Hornet!"
"..."
Cleveland face was serious.
"I can't lose her too!"
*GASP*
Cleveland suddenly remembered a certain fight.
A small smile made its way to her face as she was able to get closer to Enterprise.
"Hey." She spoke. "I understand you; I do. I got sisters of my own as well and I would do anything to protect them."
"You just need to let others help you at times, you know?"
"Cleveland..."
Enterprise smiled.
"Thanks."
"No prob!"
Cleveland smiled.
"Got room for two more?"
Javelin's voice reached their ears as they turned to see the two Destroyers following them.
"What are you doing here?"
Cleveland asked.
"Commander ordered us to be support."
Laffey sleepily said.
"Huh?"
Enterprise and Cleveland gasped.
"I see..."
*SCREECH*
Her eagle called out, letting her see a figure following them at a slower pace.
"What an interesting human."
She mused as they charged straight ahead.
Hurrying as much as they could to save their fellow Shipgirls.
Done.
Damn it! I wanted to get to a bit of the battle before I ended this, but it was getting a little too long for my liking.
Oh, well.
So...apparently Shipgirls think young means a literally child instead of a teen or a young adult.
...They're more lewd than I thought.
Akagi is self aware?
Kaga might be on to something.
(M/N) sanity and safety is on the line.
And jabs are being thrown everywhere.
And who is his other half that is possessive of him?
Next chapter will introduce Maids.
Have a good day/night!
