the day and night went by with little to no action as Azur Lane continued as it normally would.the Shipgirls did their sorties, tasks and training while the Leaders of the two factions worked in organizing and planning 

there had been no word and no reports of any Crimson Axis activity and there were little reports about the Sirens being active either.many thoughts circled around as to what was going on or what could be happening but there was no concrete proof to be certain of anything

Eagle Union wanted to gather more intel on the Sakura Empire but as things stood, there were abit too many complications on the base to make a solid move for their plan.the Royal Navy was more focused on keeping their wits up as carefulness around Royal was still extensively kept by all shipgirls

as for said Shipboy, he had gotten up earlier than everyone in the morning.ever since he received the advice from his Calamity yesterday, he had already planned his own activities and duties for the entire day, which included extensive and rigorous training that he did not want interrupted, in order to quickly master his new power

with this plan in mind.Royal snuck out of the Royal Navy's tower and made his way to the nearest edge that overlooked the ocean's water.looking around to see and sensing that no one was around, Royal summoned his rigging and hopped straight onto the water.quickly making his way out to open sea and away from the base before anyone could wake up and follow him

thanks to the scouting he had done from when he had first arrived at the Azur Lane base, he knew of a good place to do the training at.it was far enough that he wouldn't be disturbed by the sortie fleets but it was close enough to make a dash back to the base if he was ever in grave danger  

thanks to his incredible speed, it didn't take Royal long to reach a small group of islands.it was a simple formation of 3 islands that were very small, having utmost 1-3 trees and very steep downhill slopes that led into the water.it was the perfect location to push himself to the limits without disturbance

summoning his sword as he sensed his own power grow around him, Royal prepared himself as he raised his guard, ready for anything that might happen as slivers of dark power began to swirl around the area.he had sensed that his dark counterpart had began to stir up trouble as a power inside him that he was not controlling was beginning to rise

Royal(mind):you were quite quick to notice that I was alone 

Royal?:hahaha, do you believe I'd miss a chance for some chaos and fun, consider this my contribution to your training, so go on, show Me what you can really do

from the slivers of darkness, they combined to form figures that resembled Royal as they wielded a similarly shaped sword.they came in quantity but it was easy to sense that they were relatively fragile and easy to beat.though knowing that the Calamity in Royal, thinking it was easy was far from the truth

luckily for Royal, it was quite sunny and time it took for him to get to the area already let the sun rise into the sky.this gave him an advantage he typically always had as he readied himself to fight and edged his sword with the power of the light

his opponents quickly charged at him in a wave like fashion as a small group came one after another.when the first group of three arrived, Royal immediately sliced one in half, then blocked a strike from the second before pushing them back to kill the third one that followed behind, then killing the second one he had pushed back with a blast from his cannons

the 2nd group and 3rd group came at the same time as Royal blasted the water to create a screen that blocked their view of him.he then sliced at the screen of water and killed two opponents before another two charged at him with their blades overhead

Royal jumped back and dodged, blasting one of the opponents with his cannons while he did so as he steadied himself before launching projectiles of light,which his opponents blocked and deflected effortlessly before charging at him again

slicing one of them without trouble and blocking the other, Royal fired a beam of light from his hand through the stomach of his blocked opponent, killing them instantly but letting Royal drop his guard to make sure the kill was complete as a solid punch landed on Royal's face, knocking him back

Royal quickly got back on his feet and killed the last opponent with his cannons as he stood up and sighed.he had imagined his opponents to be more troublesome and harder to beat but the fight didn't last as long as he thought it would as he managed to easily beat his opponents

appearing from the casting of his shadow, Royal's dark counterpart materialized and formed behind the boy as he mimicked Royal's pose and all, like the shadow he was 

Royal?:you did better than I thought

Royal:it was a lot easier than I had thought

Royal?:hmph, don't get cocky, I wasn't trying

Royal:you were controlling them?

Royal?:heh, take this fight again at midnight and see how much better you fair 

Royal:so your power is extensively limited in the day, is this why you're forced the create domes when fighting

Royal?:hmph, perceptive aren't ya, who told you

Royal:you're a part of Me,I don't need anyone to tell Me what you do, I just to think about it and it''l come

Royal?:hmph, well aren't you the clever little dog, should I reward you?

Royal:you can give Me your life as compensation

Royal?:fat chance, Mut

as Royal bickered with his dark counterpart, more opponents began to appear as Royal and his shadow quickly took notice of it.the opponents this time were made of light with blue eyes and no mouth, they still wielded a similar shaped sword but their power was far more noticeable

they appeared with the same quantity as the opponents from before but Royal could instantly tell that they were far more dangerous than what he had faced before.to his side as he looked at his new opponents, Royal sensed a new presence appear as he turned to see the Calamity he had met first, materialize a small distance away

the calamity had no appearance like before but looked similar to the opponents that had just arrived, being nothing more than a white figure with blue eyes

Royal:Destruction?

Destruction:yes, I'm surprised you figured it out so quickly

Royal:if this thing behind Me is the Darkness then your the Light, thus your actual look without a body would be the same

Destruction:very good but we're not here for idle chatter, we're here to train and destroy and fighting Darkness formed opponents in daylight is like fighting a newborn baby, so let's move onto something you haven't done

Royal:opponents of light in broad daylight

Destruction:exactly, don't expect to win using your powers over light, you will not best Me in that regard, where Light beats Dark, Dark beats Light and the same can only hold out for so long against itself

Royal:so I'm forced to use Darkness to win

Royal?:hahahaha, why so gloom, are you afraid to lose control and meet your doom

Royal:no, more worried that my sisters might be looking for Me, I haven't had breakfast and her Majesty will not be happy when she finds out

Royal?:tch

Destruction:enough, we shouldn't be wasting time, you beat the first part and now it's time for the second, show us what you can do

no matter how much Royal wanted to deny it, he knew from experience that he would not win by trying to best his Calamity in using the light.he was forced to use the Darkness he dreaded but in order to overcome himself, he could not complain as his irises shifted from their normal purple to a blood red

I started off my day like any normal day.getting up from bed, fixing my bed head, getting dressed then heading to get a good breakfast.I had already seen Royal's note and knowing he had went out to train, I didn't need to worry about him.I was perfectly aware that he was capable of handling himself and this scenario is exactly what I would've asked for from him

he's moving forward on his own and working to overcome his own demons and hurdles and I couldn't have asked for a better turn out for the situation.her Majesty and Valiant were still asleep in our room, both still quite tired from all the paperwork that had to be sorted yesterday but thankfully everything was finished before we headed to bed

stepping out of the tower, I was met with fresh morning breeze and a sight of the docks, where many Shipgirls were gathered at.they all seemed to be frantically stressing about the open and clear seas that was in front of the base, which is where Royal's ship is typically anchored at 

no doubt that they were all concerned that Royal might have done something stupid or got taken by the enemy, both of which we very unlikely as Royal was a rational thinker and was more likely to take the enemy that would try to take him 

deciding not to bother myself with the others,I headed towards the Academy to get to the cafeteria where breakfast was most likely already ready.the Royal Maids would be extra busy today due to surveillance sorties so I wasn't going to bother them too much today unless necessary  

reaching the cafeteria,the Eagle Union's Oklahoma and Nevada were already behind the counter with all the food ready for the base.they were quick to see Me as Nevada stepped towards the counter to greet Me like they always do when I'm around

Nevada:mornin Ms.Warspite

Warspite:good morning as well,Nevada

Nevada:not taking the morning grub from the maids today?

Warspite:they'll be busy with surveillance sorties today, all of them, best not disturb them

Nevada:right then, and...........have you heard from the girls at the docks

Warspite:I didn't need to, rest assured, he simply went out to train himself, he'll be perfectly fine

Nevada:not sure if the girls are worried if he'll be fine

Warspite:he'll be back sooner or later, if not, her Majesty herself will wake up and drag him back by the collar of his  jacket, that's almost a guarantee

Nevada:welp, if you say so, what would you like for today by the way, we've got some good options

Warspite:a standard breakfast will be just fine, thank you

now knowing what I want for breakfast, Nevada put together a standard Azur Lane breakfast that almost all the Shipgirls enjoyed.it was only a few minutes of waiting before I got my breakfast and when I did, I headed straight to one of the many empty tables as there was no one else but Me and sat down and began eating

Royal's POV

the more I fought, the more I learned and as I learned,I grew even more powerful as I began to learn even more new abilities and enhance the ones I already knew.I figured out how to make domes of their respective power, manifest weak puppet like clones, quickly summon deadly spikes from the shadows, creating unseeable walls of darkness in anywhere dark and more

abilities such as speeding myself up using the light was improved drastically and I can go much faster, projectiles made of light travelled much quicker and I could now more effectively control any light screen I make, allowing Me and my allies to shoot through it while negating enemy fire but it still required a good amount of focus

using my powers over the Darkness was still a bit rough around the edges and still a bit dangerous but I had a general grasp on it and could use it to great effect.using the powers since early morning till now was a bit taxing on my body however and I was now near dead tired as I sat against one of the trees on one of the nearby islands, panting heavily

I knew I had to stop at some point but I wanted to keep going, I wanted to keep improving myself with my powers so that her Majesty didn't have to worry about my problems anymore.I wanted to keep training but looking at the sun in the sky, it was about time that everyone was awake and working at the base

I hadn't eaten breakfast nor taken even the smallest of snack and if her Majesty were to see Me as I was right now,she would no doubt be mad and I would certainly get an earful.Neptune and Cheshire were probably wondering where I had went as well and Sister Warspite and Valiant were probably also looking for Me

I should head back to base but there was enough time in the day to rest and eat, I had a goal and I said to myself that I would push my limit.I wasn't going to back down on myself as I stood up and summoned my sword back into my hand

Royal:no time to rest, I have to train-

???:no, you can set that blade of yours down

hearing the sudden familiar voice, I quickly turned around to find, her Majesty, standing behind Me carrying a small basket in her hand.she a had an angry look on her face as she looked at Me as she crossed her arms

Royal:y-your Majesty,I-

Q.E:don't bother with the reasoning and excuses, Royal, I read your note

Royal:how did you-

Q.E:shush, sit down

hesitating for a split of a second,I followed her Majesty's orders and sat back down, stabbing my sword into the sands to not need to hold it as her Majesty approached Me.opening the basket, she took out a relatively large blanket and spread it out before sitting down on it, then commandingly motioning Me to sit down on it as well 

Q.E:honestly, leaving without even the smallest or tiniest form of a snack, then training since early morning in a place no one knows you are at, are you trying to die of exhaustion!

Royal:m-my apologies your-

Q.E:we're not in public, Royal

Royal:sorry, Sister

Q.E:you should be, I can admire your determination to overcome your own hurdles but I do not approve of this kind of lifestyle

Royal:I understand but how did you-

Q.E:shush, you'll get to ask your questions after I am satisfied here, am I clear

Royal:of course, Sister

Q.E:good

taking the basket, Sister reached inside and from it pulled out a nutritious looking sandwich.she handed it to Me, which I quickly took from her as she pulled out another one for herself before setting down the basket to the side

Q.E:your lucky, Belfast hadn't left for her sortie yet, she was able to fix up a few of these before going out

Royal:I see

Q.E:honestly, Royal, I can understand your want to overcome these hurdles your facing as to not be a burden to the fleet but if you do the things you're doing then you're going to worry us more, think about what you're doing before doing will you

Royal:of course, I'm sorry

Q.E:you need to take better care of yourself, when you first arrived here you barely had any sleep, then you proceeded to take on battle after battle without proper rest, I didn't teach you proper self care for you to just disregard it 

Royal:I know

Q.E:next time, consider what you're doing and who it's affecting before doing it, alright?

Royal:understood

Q.E:good, now eat, you must be starving by now

Sister and I ate in silence as we both just ate breakfast.the sandwiches weren't anything particular or special but they were still good.these sandwiches were also apparently, her Majesty's breakfast as she didn't eat anything before coming here either, making due with the sandwiches that were made by Ms.Belfast as her breakfast

in thought, I should've seen it coming that someone would eventually come find Me but I didn't think it would be her Majesty it self.I didn't understand how she found Me so easily either, it was the same as Sister Warspite who found Me so easily before as well, it was if they just knew exactly where I was despite my best attempts at hiding 

discarding the thought however as I doubted that I could easily get answers, I finished my sandwich and stood up, dusting myself off of sand before grabbing my sword from the sand and getting back on the water

I felt a swirl of power began to concentrate in the area, which meant more light and dark opponents were being made by my two Calamity consciousnesses but before any opponents could be made, I heard the sound of Wisdom Cubes turning into rigging before hearing the sound of cannons firing

I quickly lifted my sword and deflected the shots as I looked at Sister, who now had her rigging equipped as the barrels of her cannons let out smoke.she had a small smile on her face as she materialized her scepter and stepped onto the water as well

Royal:Sister-

Q.E:I'm glad to know that this training of your powers hasn't messed with or hindered your natural senses, it would be bothersome and disappointing to Warspite if you suddenly lost your extreme prowess

Royal:what are you thinking, Sister

Q.E:my chances of beating you are slim to none, that much is clear and I'm willing to admit that but I believe sparring with an actual opponent would be much better than fighting fake opponents, would it not

Royal(mind):does she know about the enemies that I've been fighting!!!

Royal:how did you-

Q.E:don't underestimate Me, Royal, I may not see combat as often as you and Warspite but I have my own capabilities on the battlefield, don't expect Me to not have been able sense that concentrating power that would've turned into your training targets

Royal:but you shouldn't have been able to sense those

Q.E:hmhm, you were going to ask Me how I managed to find you here a little bit ago and the simple answer to your question is, I found you the same way, you find your targets

Sister closed her eyes as she spoke her last statement and as she did, I suddenly felt a familiar power coming from her.it was exactly the same as my power over the light and as Sister opened her eyes, it revealed that her already shiny blue eyes were now glowing  

Royal:Sister-

Q.E:now don't get too excited or worried, I'm nowhere as powerful as you are, the power I have is just a small fraction excess energy that your body couldn't handle, even like this, my chances against you haven't changed

Royal:but..........how long have you had this power!

Q.E:quite a while now but it was only quite recently that I understood what it was 

Royal:are you-

Q.E:if your worried about some kind of side effect then there's no need for you to worry, I don't feel any different than I normally do

Royal:........what about-

Q.E:enough talking, Brother, the day is still young and we should use that time to the fullest,so prepare yourself, I'll be giving it the best I've got

at Sister's last remark, I instinctively readied myself as I put my guard up and kept watch over my opponent,which was her Majesty herself.she held her scepter lightly and had a small smile on her face as she looked at Me, seemingly amused about the situation as she stilly remained in her position 

it wasn't long however before she suddenly vanished from where she was and before I had realized it, I had lost complete track of her.I thought I was prepared but I didn't think that Sister had much of a grasp of this power yet and slightly underestimated her, causing Me to let my guard down for a second

Sister took full advantage of this and fired from different angles while continuing to quickly move around while I deflected the shots away with my sword.I knew if I didn't pick up the pace and match, Sister's speed,then this fight would get out of my hands and become problematic as Sister would fire her cannons at Me until I eventually make a mistake 

before I could let that happen, I used my own powers over the light to increase my own speed as I more easily deflected the incoming attacks and began to start keeping up with Sister's movements.I continued to defend myself until I fully kept track of her Majesty's every move until I caught her in a sudden ambush as I charged at her, dodging the attack she fired and blocking her way

my sword was at the ready as I swung to end the fight but her majesty had other ideas as I felt the imminent danger that sped towards Me, faster than my sword approaching Sister.I quickly moved to dodge as I see sharp and quick projectiles of light speed past Me, barely missing Me as they quickly went out of sight before I looked over to Sister who had stopped, still wearing her small smile on her face

Royal:those attacks and tactics, their the same as the one's I typically use

Q.E:well I saw you use them and thought, why couldn't I

Royal:you are much more accustomed to the power than I had originally thought, it's quite possible you're even better than Me when it comes to controlling it

Q.E:I only have a fraction of the power you possess, it's natural that it would be easier for Me to control, I'm only really comparable to when you were only still starting out

Royal:even so, even I wasn't able to make use of this power so much so quickly

Q.E:I've only been using visualization to make use of this power, Royal, even I don't understand how it works as well as you do, you're the only one who will be to use this power to the truest potential 

Royal:but even then, I can only do so much with it

Q.E:well, why don't I show you something I managed to do with it

Sister raised her cannons and prepared to fire as I quickly got ready to block but before she launched her attack, ripples in the air began to form and multiple images of Sister quickly surrounded Me, almost completely covering the area

I kept my attention on Sister, which I knew was the real one but she quickly began moving around quickly and before long, I lost track of her again.when she stopped, there were significantly more images of her and I had no idea which one was her as they all aimed their cannons at Me

I couldn't sense Sister's energy either as all the images radiated the same amount of power as she did, completely masking her from my ability to sense her energy.I was forced to keep a careful eye out across all of my surroundings as any one of the images could be real 

I thought the images were simply still and meant to hide Sister but I was quickly proven wrong as they all simultaneously fired their cannons at Me.I knew I was quick enough to block the attacks but as I tried to deflect the closest shells, my sword simply phased through them before phasing through Me

many of the shells I tried to deflect or block had done the same except for two that I had missed, which were Sister's actual attack, hitting directly in the back blasting off balance.knowing now that there was no way for Me to figure out which were the real shells, I quickly got back up and began dodging instead as I tried to figure out what Sister's trick was

it was clear that Sister had used the light to create phantom imagery but it was a bit hard to figure out what exactly she did.I dodged and she attacked repeatedly as I watched the imagery carefully to see if I could find anything useful to figure out what Sister did, it was apparent but I eventually found the clue I needed as I saw that the small visible background of the imagery that were near the islands, didn't align with what was behind them

despite being directly in front of the island, I could see the sea and the sky behind them and thinking about it a bit, I realized that the imagery were made by a simple reflection of light.it was as if Sister had set up many mirrors in the area to make a room of reflections

knowing what she had done now, finding her amidst all the fakes was actually quite simple, I simply had to rid the area of all the reflections of her.this was still a bit of a problem however as I couldn't just attack randomly as I could possibly hit and seriously hurt Sister

thinking of way to do my solution without hurting Sister, I remembered that it was significantly easier to pinpoint a energy source of light when I used my power over darkness and vice versa.remembering this, I quickly changed my grasp of power as my eye color turned from their normal purple to red, like before

once I had done it, a single, more concentrated energy source is all I could see amidst all the phantom imagery that Sister had.it didn't take her long to see or realize, what had happened as she gave a look of slight concern while I began to use my power before she could realize

since it was sunny out, there was only one real place I could gather enough darkness to use in the fight, so from the unseen depths of the ocean, long tendrils of darkness came forth and at my command, made quick work of the phantom imagery and leaving Sister in a state of shock and awe but unharmed

using this opportunity to my advantage.I sped towards Sister with my sword at the ready and after closing the distance, I had my blade up against her neck.snapping out of her state of surprise, she had realized that she had lost just after I broke her reflections as she raised her arms up in surrender

Royal:you lose

Q.E:yes, that is quite clear, isn't it, unfortunately, this was only round one 

I was a bit confused at Sister's words but it made more sense as I felt a growing darkness beneath Me.I quickly dodged as a spike erupted upwards from the ocean's depths before quickly sinking back down while landed a small distance away from Sister

before I could question the sudden form of the attack, I quickly dodged again as my danger sense kicked in and allowed Me to dodge two sword like projectiles made of both energy of light and dark

looking up after dodging, I saw that Sister had a small smile on her face as I looked in confusion as to how she managed to harness the power of darkness as well as use both at the same time 

Q.E:you both certainly took your time to arrive and you both have him quite shocked, why don't you both come out so that we can properly begin the fight

it was only then that I had sensed the two newly arrived sources of energy, one having energy of darkness and the other having the energy of both light and dark as they came into my view.to my certain surprise, the sources of the energy were my other Sisters, Valiant and Warspite as they both wore small amused smiles on their faces

I was most definitely confused and shocked as my Sister's possessed the same powers as I did but they seem to be completely unaware about the Calamity that actual gave this power, meaning that they,even Sister Warspite, didn't fully understand the power nor the Black Wisdom Cube that gave it 

Royal:you all-

Valiant:surprised?, of course you are, that was to be expected

Warspite:I would have liked to keep it from you a bit longer but her Majesty had different ideas, I suppose

Q.E:hmph, there is no point in hiding it from, Brother here, it would only breed more secrets that would breed distrust among us 

Royal:but how, it doesn't make sense, how do you all have the same power as I do

Warspite:it's a bit of a long story and a bit hard to explain, so I'll tell you later when we return to base

Q.E:correct, the real battle begins now, Brother, and you had better be hasty or else your being punished if you don't beat us before lunch time

Valiant:I couldn't have said it better myself, Eli, consider it reparmation for deciding to forget about your health in order to train

her Majesty's eyes shone brightly as she created more phantom imagery of herself alongside projectiles of light, Sister Warspite's eye color turned bright red and shone just brightly as her sword began to get enveloped by dark swirls and a dark shadow ring formed underneath her feet, Sister Valiant on the other hand became heterochromatic with her right eye becoming blue and both eyes glowing as her sword swirled both the energies of light and dark 

I knew the fight in front of Me wouldn't be easy as though they didn't fully understand the power nor had the same level of strength, my Sister's were not to be underestimated.her Majesty has already shown that she is quite capable in a fight and using the power she has, Sister Warspite has always been excellent in a fight and Sister Valiant has been a strategic opportunist who doesn't let a chance get by her

I readied myself to fight as it was relatively close to lunch time.I had about an hour or a little more to finish the fight and that was exactly what I was going to do as the Queen has commanded of Me

making the first move, I charged at I charged at her Majesty, quickly bypassing Sister Warspite in hopes of securing a quick elimination to lower their numbers to two.unfortunately, Sister Valiant was quick to react and quickly fired blades of light and dark in my path, forcing Me to dodge and back off

this allowed Sister Warspite to respond as she dashed behind Me, pincering Me between her and Sister Valiant, who also dashed towards Me, both going for melee combat and making use of their numbers advantage

I blocked Sister Warspite's strike with my sword and blocked Sister Valiant's stab with my rigging as I used my dark powers to grab hold of Sister Valiant's legs, keeping her in place as I pushed Sister Warspite away

with only one opponent in front of Me, I swung at Sister Valiant who blocked and held her position as she was unable to escape from the dark tendrils.while I held a weapon lock, I pointed my rigging and fired past Sister Valiant, hitting the water in front of her Majesty and blocking her sight line as she tried to fire projectiles of light

I let go of Sister Valiant's legs after seeing that our weapon lock was going nowhere before swinging my sword and knocking her back as I quickly turned to block a quick strike from Sister Warspite, who quickly got back to Me

we traded swings, blocks and parries as I tried to overpower her with sheer strength only to be proven futile as Sister Warspite was still better at swordsmanship than Me, I couldn't beat her with strength alone and she knew it for a fact as she made use of it every second we fought

in attempt to throw her off, I deliberately showed a opening for an easy strike, which Sister surprisingly took as she swung at Me.I created a screen of light however, which would block her strike and allow Me to counter attack and possibly lead it into a incapacitation 

however, I was quickly surprised as Sister broke through the light screen and was now in a prime position to strike Me.I managed to barely block the attack in time as I took control of the situation to push Sister back into another light screen throwing her off balance 

this gave Me a chance to charge at her but after sensing my surroundings, I saw that I could end the fight here and now.I didn't stop my charge at Sister Warspite as I went for the kill but instead of using my sword, I summoned a blade made of light and used that to pin Sister Warspite as I threw my sword at her Majesty

my sword flew quickly and she had little time to react as I used my powers to hold my sword at her neck, just before it hit as I summoned another blade made of light into my other hand to block and disarm Sister Valiant who charged at Me from the side, before holding my blade at her neck as well, incapacitating all 3 of them 

Valiant:well, it seems we've lost, as expected however

Warspite:it took a bit longer than I had thought but you managed very well, Royal

Q.E:hmmphm, I didn't managed to do much, you all were moving too fast for Me to even get a solid look as to where you all were

Royal:even so, fighting all 3 of you was most definitely not easy 

unsummoning my two blades and my sword, all the projectiles made from our energy that we had thrown around vanished into thin air as I took a heavy sigh while Sister Warspite patted Me on the back, then on the head

Warspite:you did well, you're not used to fighting anyone who matches up to you in power so this was a new experience, wasn't it

Royal:mmm, though I'm still confused as to how you all have this power as well

Valiant:we can discuss that matter over lunch

Q.E:agreed, you have A LOT of rest to catch up on and I'm not taking no for an answer,so not the next week or two,you're taking it easy

Royal:understood
