Berlin's POV

ice began forming beneath my feet, ice began tipping my spear, cold air began blowing violently and snow began falling from the sky. I knew the opponents before Me were dangerous and their abilities were still unknown but they were cautious of Me and this gave Me a limited grasp on their skill

I was far stronger, faster and more durable but there was two of them and one of Me. time was ticking and any at any moment, the Orochi could be sent Azur Lane's way. I needed to be quick and thus I can't hold back as much as I normally do, I HAD to win and FAST

Scharnhorst and Gneisenau were both clearly weary of Me, they already realized that I was getting ready for a fight and they knew their chances were slim. I had the advantage of power but they had a very mild number advantage that I wasn't going to let them utilize as I quickly walled off Gneisenau with a tall wall of ice

separating the two, I now only had to deal with one of them as I quickly lunged myself at Scharnhorst, who was still processing the separation. I landed a stab, piercing her stomach and pushing her back a bit, making come to her senses and realizing that she was in danger

in response, she fired her cannons at Me, forcing Me to back off as I let go of my spear and jumped back, avoiding the shots all together as Scharnhorst pulled my spear out of her stomach. I quickly kept up the momentum and charged back at her again after I summoned my spear again but I was cut off when cannon shots soared right past Me from the side as I looked over to see Gneisenau, who broke through my ice wall

I didn't expect them to be able to break my ice as nothing before them could but I wasn't going to let this hinder Me as I changed targets and charged at Gneisenau. I brought my spear down on her, hoping to land a slash but she blocked my attack with her arms, stopping my spear at the base of the blade

as I held a weapon lock with Gneisenau, I noticed Scharnhorst about to shoot Me which I couldn't allow as I extended out ice from the water to her before making it spike up rapidly, forcing her to dodge back multiple times to avoid skewering

this separated the two again and allowed Me to fight Gneisenau without disturbance as my rigging bit down on her shoulder with extreme speed and force, taking her by surprise as I kicked her away to break our lock only for her to get pulled back by rigging and thrown in the opposite direction of Scharnhorst as she crashed through the ice wall I made earlier

before chasing after, Gneisenau, I fired multiple shots in the direction of Scharnhorst to slow her down more before I chased after Gneisenau who was getting back on her feet. she fired her cannons as she was getting up and stabilizing herself while I intercepted the shots using rising spikes of ice, ignoring the ones that were blatant misses as I rushed forward

Gneisenau knew she was outclassed and quickly moved to back off and make some distance while firing her cannons as I chased after her, covering significant distance between us faster than she could run away

taking advantage of her focus on Me, I made a wall of ice behind her and threw my spear right in front of her, making her jump back and have her back hit the wall, staggering her as I closed the distance and grabbed her neck, choking her against the wall before landing a punch to the face, followed by my rigging ramming itself against her and pushing her through the wall

knocking her back down to the water and possibly for the rest of the fight, I turned to Scharnhorst, who finally caught up as she fired her cannons at Me while holding down the wound I gave her. she may still be able to fight it was clear to Me that her injury was massively hindering her as I encased myself in a dome of ice, blocking the shots before turning into relatively large shards of ice that flew at her at high speeds

realizing that she was in more danger, Scharnhorst put up multiple shields all around here, blocking my icicles and giving herself some breathing room as she kept her eyes on Me while taking a breather

knowing I shouldn't give them time to recuperate, my rigging opened all their mouths and began charging my attack as Scharnhorst came to realize what was coming next and added more layers of shields in anticipation and preparation, no matter how futile it was

after a few seconds of charging, my cannons all fired white beams that froze everything in its path. the beams collided with the shields and began breaking them under the heavy pressure as ice formed in the water from the lasers wake and impact

I broke through most of the shield in no time but the last one was quite tougher as Scharnhorst did her best to maintain its strength, even though it was clear that he power was weakening rapidly.

while I was focused on breaking Scharnhorst's shields, I failed to realize that Gneisenau had gotten back up and gotten behind Me as she picked up from my arms, locking my arm movement with her own as Scharnhorst put down her shield and fired her cannons at Me while Gneisenau used Me as living shield

quickly acting to avoid the impending damage, I coated myself in ice and made spikes protrude outwards, lightly impaling Gneisenau all over and making her lose her grip on Me as I fell back onto my feet, just in time to create a dome of ice that blocked Scharnhorst's shots as the coat of ice around Me retracted back

laying a beating on Gneisenau with close quarters combat while we were in the dome, I punched her through the dome and unfortunately towards Scharnhorst, who did her best to help her up as she also held onto her wound to minimize the bleeding as I readied myself to finish them off

Berlin:you shouldn't have interfered

Scharnhorst:damn

Gneisenau:the intel was off, he was far stronger than what we were informed of

Berlin:I would normally let you go as I don't like killing none SIren opponents but I doubt I'd be able to leave if I didn't

Scharnhorst:damn you, do you think this is over 

Berlin:I'd like it to be, so this is where I'll make sure you'll never interfere again

I charged up another wave of ice beams and prepared to fire as Scharnhorst and Gneisenau readied for impact. it was a sure fire kill but before I could even fire the shots, multiple shells came flying towards Me at high speed, forcing Me to dodge as I cancelled my attack to focus on evading

after I dodged the shells, I raised my spear to block a swift striking sword that was quickly moving to slash my head off. it's wielder was a woman with white hair and bunny ears, wearing a black top and white skirt with a black jacket over it as she had an Aircraft Carrier rigging on her while she held her sword

she pushed Me back and I regained my footing but I was quickly struck again as shells made impact to my rigging, with one of the shells hitting Me directly and sending Me flying backwards as I tumbled on the water

I tried getting back up after I stopped tumbling but I was quickly pelted by shells again as my rigging did it's best to try and protect Me from the barrage of shells.without being able to move anywhere due to lack of any nearby cover, I was pelted by barrage after barrage of shells, eventually breaking through my defense and rigging as I took hits directly

an explosions sent Me flying backwards again and now, for the first time since I was trapped by the Sirens in ice, I was too weak to get up, having taken too many hits and only having determination and adrenaline to keep Me awake and away from passing out

using some of my limited strength, I looked to my enemies who had gathered around each other, seemingly to protect Scharnhorst and Gneisenau as I looked to see varying faces in the enemy force

there was 7 new opponents for Me to face and they all looked like girls from Azur lane and the Sakura Empire. I recognized them as Helena, Hiyou, Junyou, Fusuo, Yamashiro and Arizona but they all looked very different

they already got the jump on Me and I was now in no position to take them all on as I thought of a way to win. I was purely working off on adrenaline and determination as I weakly stood up and looked at my opponents who were conversing with each other while I looked down to see a something off out from my uniform

as Berlin stood up and looked down to see a piece of paper fall onto the water, the Meta's all took a small bit of time to fill each other in with reports and check on Gneisenau and Scharnhorst, who were badly damaged 

Scharnhorst:what the hell are you all doing here

Helena:Yorktown doubted your ability to beat him and it would seem she was right

Yamashiro:you both need more training 

Gneisenau:don't underestimate him, he's nothing like the one we know, he's conviction and mental state is much more stable, he's far more experienced and much more determined than what we expected

Arizona:if only he were like this when the time came

Junyou:doesn't matter, we have a mission and that's to eliminate him 

Hiyou:right but what about the fleet

Helena:from what I can tell, their going ahead with the plan but to stall the Orochi instead, their hoping for his arrival 

Hiryuu:heh, too bad he won't make it, or return in general 

Fusuo:what is the fleet's chance of survival

Helena:not very high but we're hoping that they'll hold on long enough for us to help from the shadows

Hiryuu:casualty count?

Helena:if our predictions are right, then very high

Hiryuu:damn shame but this will be better for the long run

Scharnhorst:just finish the boy off already and put him out of this misery so we can get going. he doesn't need to be a part of this

Helena:right, let's wrap things up

turning to Berlin, the Meta's were met with the sight of the boy, standing on the water with his cap, that was blown off in one hand and what would seem like a picture in the other. he was intently looking at the picture while his bangs covered his eyes as he gripped the picture tightly

Yamashiro:Iron Blood ships just don't stay down do they

Hiryuu:something's off

Arizona:I'm getting a bad feeling about this

Berlin tucked the picture back into his uniform and placed his cap back onto his head, before fixing it's position as he swept his bangs to the side and looked up, revealing his glowing golden eyes that were gleaming with bloodlust and hatred as Berlin's rigging, using whatever life it had left, raised itself up and prepared to fight

a thick coating of snow and mist began forming around the battlefield, obscuring vision greatly as the water that everyone stood on, froze over in an instant. though the mist made things hard to see, the Meta's still had eyes on Berlin who was slowly being covered in ice before the ice broke off of him, revealing his wounds to be completely healed

the ice began covering his rigging afterwards and before long, it broke off as well, showing that Berlin's rig was now repaired with some ice remaining on them to form a glacial like armor on each head as the rigging's eyes glowed a bright blue before it released a thundering roar

the water they all stood on, froze over in an instant, an icy expanse as far as the eye could see. maneuverability was cut by more than half and the Meta's knew they were no in very dangerous territory

every step, every turn, even the slightest of movements put them in front of ice and snow. they were all trapped in a domain now taken over by ice. they had made the mistake to finish the fight quickly, they no longer had Berlin trapped for an easy kill, they were all trapped with him

Berlin raised his spear and pointed it at his opponents who quickly got ready to fight but before any could be done by them, Berlin was already on the offensive as he instantly closed the distance between him and Hiryuu as he ran his spear through her stomach, impaling her before throwing her into the air for the ice to grow a spike that pierced her head in a quick motion, killing her instantly

taking a second to process the events that just happened. the Meta's all looked up to see the body of one of their strongest fighters, hanging by the head with an icicle through it before they looked down to Berlin who was giving them a deathly look while his eyes dilated more and more

having processed what had happened, everyone was now in full alert as Junyou raised her sword to block Berlin's spear that was thrusted forward. it felt like it was barely seconds since they looked at him and they were sure it was as Berlin's spear was seconds away from piercing Junyou's neck

pushing him back to attempt a counterattack, Junyou and Hiyou tried to launch their aircraft only to immediately fail as their aircraft and flight deck immediately froze over and solidified before getting shot with quick moving shell that shattered the rigging into thousands of pieces in an instant

with aircraft out of the picture, Yamashiro, Fusuo and Arizona made their attempt to fight back as they fired their shells only for their attacks to immediately freeze over as well and fall onto the iced over ocean harmlessly 

making a swift motion, Berlin swiped his spear at the air and as a result, a massive tidal wave of spiked ice formed behind Berlin that quickly rose in height threatening to swallow the Meta's in one go

understanding the threat in front of them, Helena made her move as she used her abilities to control the Mirror Sea they were in to delete the wave of ice. she succeeded and the tidal wave ceased to exist but as a result, she fell to her knees, eyes widened at how many entities she had to remove in one go

this didn't go unnoticed by the others as they looked to Helena with worry for their chance of survival slowly diminishing as time went on. they never expected the boy they once knew to be so different but having only seen and known the one they knew, they understood things could be wildly different

Arizona:we can't win, we have to leave

Fusuo:Helena, we need you to get us out of here

Helena:r-right but if I drop the Mirror Sea

Yamashiro:that doesn't matter!!!

Hiyou:we need to get out of here

Helena:r-right, but Me some time

having an agreement, the Meta's turned back to Berlin but their mistake of turning backs to Me made them pay dearly as Berlin pierced Junyou's neck with his spear, freezing her from the inside out instantly

the pull out of the spear shattered Junyou into thousands of pieces that fell on the ice as Berlin moved to his next target. dashing at Hiyou who dodged his strike and tried to counter attack, only to miss as Berlin dodged as well, now putting the two in a exchange of blows and dodges

Fusuo, Yamashiro and Arizona didn't sit idly while Hiyou fought as they fired their cannons at Berlin, only for their shells to freeze and fall harmlessly as Berlin rigging roared and fired shots at the 3 on it's own.

with no ability to fight back other than close combat, the Meta's were in a tight spot where they could only hope that Helena could get them out of the situation faster as Hiyou, Fusuo, Yamashiro, and Arizona fought and dodged for their lives

Hiyou and Berlin continued to exchange strikes and dodges, knowing that one misstep could result in death for one of them and a slight injury for the other as Hiyou, making the one misstep she wasn't allowed to make, opened and chance for Berlin, which he didn't miss as he jumped at her, raising his spear as if it was sword to slash down at her, to which Hiyou raised her sword to block, only for her sword to freeze over and shatter on impact of the spear as Berlin's slash cuts Hiyou completely in half before freezing inside out

seeing another one of their members fall, the Meta's worked to survive but they quickly noticed that Berlin was moving to target Helena, which they could not allow to happen under any circumstance as she was their only escape

Yamashiro, being the first react, got into Berlin's path and caught the spear by the base of the blade and held her ground, keeping Berlin from advancing as she raised her cannons and fired at point blank range

smoke covered the both of them but it cleared quickly as Berlin's rigging roared, sending a relatively strong gust of wind at Yamashiro and revealing that her point blank shot did absolutely nothing to Berlin or his rigging as there wasn't even a scratch on him

disliking the attack on them and their master, Berlin's rigging sprung to action as two heads moved and bit down on Yamashiro's arms, making the girl scream in pain but remaining strong as she continued to hold her ground, even using her adrenaline to boost herself as she shook off the rigging from her arms and pulled Berlin's spear out of his grasp before kicking back and away from Helena

Berlin didn't stay down for long and quickly got back up and looked at Yamashiro as if he was reassessing her as the girl threw Berlin's spear away and dropped to her knees in pain while her arms went limp as Berlin resummons his spear to him

motioning to charge forward, Berlin readied himself to take the kill on Yamashiro while Arizona and Fusuo moved to protect her but before either side could make a move, Helena sprung to action as her rigging and multiple screens came to life

before anyone else knew what happened, the Mirror Sea collapsed in one swift moment and the Meta's were all gone. looking around, Berlin found himself in a completely different battlefield as Azur Lane with Iron Blood, the Sakura Empire with the Sirens and the Orochi were present

they all looked to the boy who seemed to have gone through a major dramatic change as Berlin looked towards the Orochi, understanding that it was his next fight to be had as the Orochi in turned began glowing brightly 

Berlin:time to end this, Sub-Zero
