Berlin's POV

I remember getting picked up by Ms.Friedrich,before getting carried away but I was nowhere to be found as I stood in the middle of a barren ocean,I was wide awake as I looked around my surroundings to find absolutely nothing around,there were no clouds,there were no islands and there was no land in sight,the only thing here or nearby was the ocean and the sun,that was at its highest point

I didn't even try to move from where I stood as I continued to look around in confusion,in hopes of finding something that could tell Me,where I am,suddenly I felt myself get moved as I blinked to find myself now on land,specifically the Iron Blood base as I stood at the central plaza of the base,I looked around once again to see the multiple buildings and stores around,being ran by the manjuu despite,there being no one in any of the stores

I turned around and saw the general store but it looked different as it was smaller again and looked like what it was from 2 years ago,I peeked through the window and saw the inside of the store and found the small but still wide variety of items,that were being sold and could be bought as the manjuu inside restocked the shelves 

I turned away from the general store and looked at the plaza as I took notice of the lack of people,that would usually would be walking around the base,there wasn't a single soul in sight as I walked to the center of the plaza again,I looked around the plaza for a few minutes and found no one around as I wondered where everyone was

I then noticed the main building,that was much smaller now as just like the general store,it looked like,what it was from 2 years ago as it was missing the 2 extra floors it has now,I decided to go to the main building in search of everybody as I walked through the base,towards the main building

when I got there,I saw people moving around inside from the windows as if everyone was in a hurry,I walked up to the door and grabbed the doorknob,only for my hand to phase through the knob,I tried again only to be met by the same results as I swished my hand against the doorknob to see my hand just pass through it

I then tried to push the door open as my arm phased through the door like before as I retracted my arm and looked at it in a very confused manner,after a few moments,I walked straight into the door and passed through it as I made it into the building to see the many Iron Blood shipgirls in an absolute working frenzy

everyone was running along the halls,carrying stacks of papers and documents,discussing things amongst each other and bringing things from one place to another at fast speeds,I spent a little while,observing everyone as I tried to grab the sleeve of one of the girls,only for my hand to phase through them like before,then one of them ran straight through Me as I looked at them ran to the other side of the hallway 

I looked at myself for a second to see,that I looked perfectly fine and well,before I made my way to the 2nd floor,it was just as hectic upstairs as it was downstairs as people were running around the hallways doing work in a very tardy and inefficient manner

I looked around the place as I observed everyone work in a fashion,that I had never seen my faction work like before as everyone worked and ran around like some kind of headless chicken,I then took notice of a certain individual leave a room with a document in hand,before quickly walking into another room

it was Ms.Zeppelin rushing out of the room with a document in hand as she quickly ran across the hallway to enter the meeting room,I decided to follow her and enter the meeting room as I walked straight into the wall,letting Me pass through and enter the room to see,that it had not changed at all

inside the room was of course Ms.Zeppelin but also Schwester Bismarck,Ms.Eugen,Ms.Friedrich, Ms.Gneisenau and Ms.Deustchland as they all sat around the large meeting table while Ms.Zeppelin took her seat before handing Schwester Bismarck the document or paper she had as Schwester looked at the document with a serious look on her face

Bismarck:so is this document legitimate 

Zeppelin:I've double checked with HQ,Lord Bismarck,the order is legitimate

Friedrich:what do we do then,having Berlin leave the base will significantly reduce the protection and firepower we have at our disposal by a large amount

Eugen:I opt to have the HQ reconsider,we should send somebody else,even a replacement squad will do

Deustchland:just let the little guy go,we can handle things here no problem

Bismarck:do not be stupid about this Deustchland,we've been able to operate so freely and with little resistance because we have Berlin here,if he were to leave,it would mean,we can't operate so freely anymore

Gneisenau:not only that,he's the one cleaning our nearby waters by bombarding Sirens from miles away

Zeppelin:if he were to leave,it could become problematic

Friedrich:yes but now that I think about it,Tirpitz is out there on her own and if HQ is willing to send Berlin there to assist her,then it must be serious

Eugen:and we can't even go against HQ,can we

Bismarck:no we can't,the order is absolute

Zeppelin:so we just let him go?

Deustchland:why are you all so damn protective of him,if he's as strong as you say he is,then he should be fine

Eugen:you don't get it do you

Deustchland:what?

Friedrich:it's only barely been over 2 months since he was created,so he's barely 2 months old

Gneisenau:and in that month,he's only seen actual combat once

Zeppelin:and now HQ wants to send him to the Arctic to go help fight,what is essentially super powered up production models,that could possibly be stronger than usual humanoid Sirens,that we have no info about 

Bismarck:he has nowhere enough experience on the field to go on a mission like this,it would practically be suicide for him

Deustchland:then let's just send someone with him on the way there

Eugen:that's the thing,HQ doesn't want anyone going with him,they only want him and Tirpitz up there and no one else

Gneisenau:they don't even want to give him escorts for his travel

Friedrich:honestly,what is HQ thinking?!,trying to send a child with no experience to fight a battle like this

Bismarck:we need an alternative to this

I watched as they all talked about the contents of the document,which was none other than the order for Me to head to the Arctic Sea to help Schwester Tirpitz,stop the experimental Sirens from attacking Iron Blood from the North

I could tell that Ms.Friedrich was worried but in reality,the mission was not that difficult for Me and Schwester,we were more than capable of beating the Sirens up North and we were more than prepared to stay there for the time,that was required of us,if it only wasn't for that ambush on the last day,there might have been a very different future now

I watched them all talk about the mission as a thought had crossed my mind,since everyone was here and they were talking about Me,I wondered where I was at the current time,since I seemed to be nowhere to be seen

as the thought came to my mind and while I thought about it,I closed my eyes to blink as I felt myself get moved again as I open my eyes at different scenery,I was now at the docks and in front of my own ship as I stared at it with no amusement,I then looked around the area and once again,saw the empty area,that was devoid of people

that was until I saw 2 people in the near distance,they were both sitting down at the edge of the docks and looking out towards the ocean with smiles both on their faces as they both sat down next to each other 

I walked up to the 2 and notice,that both had very familiar features,letting Me immediately know who the 2 were as I walked up behind them,the 2 people were Me and Z46 as we both sat down and giggled to each other,I looked at myself and saw how different I was as  my other self talked with Z46

he was so much more cheerful and lively than Me because that was Me from 2 years ago,from before getting stuck in the ice,he also seemed really close to Z46 as the 2 of them both enjoyed each other's company

I don't remember ever meeting Z46 in the past as the only time I remember meeting her was back at the rooftop at night,when I returned to Iron Blood after 2 years,I wondered about the scene in front of Me as I could not remember this ever happening,I don't remember ever meeting Z46 in the past,let alone getting close with her as I went into deep in thought while watching the 2

I observed them as I watched them both interact with one another,both showing little playful expressions of friendship with one another as I felt a familiar feeling across my body,I felt warm and content  as I watched the 2,I felt a sense of familiarity but I couldn't get an exact description about it,it felt so nice and made Me feel so happy with myself as I watched the 2

then all of a sudden,they playful gestures stop as they both looked at the ocean in front of them,the aura behind Z46 became gloomy and sadas my other self quickly took notice as he turned towards her with slightly worried but curious look on his face

AN:the other Berlin will be called D.Berlin

D.Berlin:is something wrong,Z46

Z46:no-,......not really-,........can I-,ask you something

D.Berlin:of course,anything

Z46:is it true

D.Berlin:what is

Z46:that your leaving the base,because your being sent North

D.Berlin:ah,so it's about that-,...............well,yeah I got the order from HQ a day ago

Z46:will you be alright,I heard the Sirens in the North are much stronger and more aggressive

D.Berlin:I'll be fine,trust Me

Z46:when will you get back

D.Berlin:............................................I don't know,the mission length is unspecified,I'm supposed to stay there until further orders are given

Z46:but when will I see you again,if it's unspecified then-

D.Berlin:hey,hey,don't worry,I'm sure it won't be that long,plus I'll meet my Schwester Tirpitz there and she's strong like Me and Schwester Bismarck,we'll be fine

Z46:but Berlin,I don't want us to be apart for too long-

Z46 quickly launched herself onto my other self and pulled him to a hug as she kept him a tight and firm hold,she looked like she was on the verge of tears but also looked like she refused to let go no matter the circumstance as my other self looked past her with a blank expression,before smiling and returning the hug

Z46:I don't know what I would do without you

D.Berlin:have you grown,that attached to Me in 2 months,unbelievable

Z46:your always out there,trying to prove yourself and you always almost get hurt in doing so

D.Berlin:of course,because what good is a ship if it's unseaworthy,I want to be able show,that I am capable as a ship 

Z46:but you are capable,we all know,that you are,that opportunity just hasn't show yet

D.Berlin:this is my opportunity and I want  to take it,Z46,I want to show,what I can do

Z46:but Berlin-

D.Berlin:how about this,let's make a promise,no matter how long I take,no matter what shape or form I'm in,you'll wait for Me to come back and in return,I promise you,that I will come back,no matter how long it takes Me

Z46 was silent for a moment as I looked at her and saw,that she was really deep in thought,silence filled the area until Z46 pulled away from the hug and looked at my other self with a serious and determined face

Z46:do you promise,what you've said,will keep to your word

D.Berlin:to the very last letter

there was a brief silence before Z46 pulled each other into an embrace again as the 2 both smiled with a happy and content expression both of their faces

Z46:then I promise,no matter how long it take,I'll wait for you to return to Me

D.Berlin:and I promise to one day come back to you,no matter how long it takes Me

the 2 stayed in the hug for a little while as I watched them from behind,the sense of familiarity and warmth never left Me but got stronger the longer,that I watched them as I continued to watch them with a smile of my face 

all of a sudden,the scenery switched again as I found myself inside the meeting room,once again,Schwester and the others were all still talking about the my mission and it's alternatives as I looked around the room to see if anything had changed but everything seemed to have stayed the same

suddenly,the door to the meeting room flew open,revealing Me with a slightly annoyed look on my face,in contrast to my demeanor and attitude from before,my other self was incredibly serious and seemed slightly annoyed as he looked at everyone in the room while entering and closing the door behind him

Bismarck:Berlin?!

D.Berlin:I'm going

Bismarck:excuse Me?

D.Berlin:I'm going to the North,I'm taking on the mission

Friedrich:my child,please do not be hasty about this,it's not,that simple-

D.Berlin:the mission is a defense and destroy and HQ wants Me to go,they have to have a good reason to send Me,so I'm going

Eugen:Berlin,think about this first,we can understand that you want to show-

D.Berlin:this isn't just about proving myself,this is about,the enemy,Schwester Tirpitz is fighting up there

Zeppelin:what do you mean

D.Berlin:HQ already gave Me the details of the mission before informing all of you,these things are confirmed to be stronger than normal since they said,that their shaking off,Schwester Tirpitz's shells like it's nothing

Gneisenau:this could be even more serious,than we had thought 

Bismarck:I agree,we need to be decisive about this,and even so,this is too dangerous for-

D.Berlin:I'm going to the north,under Iron Bloods leader's permission or not,under HQ's orders

my other self look at Schwester Bismarck and at everyone with a determined expression on his face as I remember uttering those exact lines,I was very sure of my decision and nothing could change my mind about it,not even Schwester Bismarck and Ms.Friedrich could or would,considering that both of them seemed very unsure about arguing with Me on the topic 

Bismarck:you sure about this,Berlin,once it's set in stone,there's no going back

D.Berlin:I am,I'm going to the north 

Bismarck:then so be it

Friedrich:Lord Bismarck-

Bismarck:you will leave the base and travel North,to the Arctic Sea and rendevouz with Tirpitz then wait for further orders from Me or HQ,you leave at early dawn tomorrow,understood

D.Berlin:yes,Lord Bismarck

my other self then turned around and quickly left the room without a word as silence filled the room while a gloomy atmosphere covered everyone inside,especially Ms.Friedrich and Ms.Zeppelin as they both stared down at the table

Friedrich:why did you let him go

Bismarck:he's made his choice and HQ's order is clear,no point of arguing about it 

Zeppelin:was it because you thought he'll have a better time with,Tirpitz

Bismarck:..........................................we're done here,all of you are dismissed 

at the words of their leader,everyone stood up in silence and quickly left the room,leaving Schwester Bismarck alone at the meeting table as I looked at her,she had elbows on the table and had her head leaning on her hands,that had their fingers intertwined as a shadow covered her face,not letting Me see her eyes

despite that,I sense a bit of grief and sadness from her as I walked over to her while keeping my eyes on her as well,she then stood up and walked over to the window behind as she looked out the window,that overlooked the docks ,I walked up beside as I looked to where she was looking at and saw my other self,walking along the docks

I then turned to Schwester Bismarck as she continued to look out the window while I took notice,that she was intensely gripping the little extended part of the window as her grip formed a few small cracks on the bottom part of the window 

I looked at her for a few seconds before she left the window and exited the room,making Me the only person left inside the room as I looked back out the window as I watched my other self walk over to the near ends of the docks 

at the same time,I felt myself get transported again as I looked around to find new surroundings once again,I was now on the docks and in front of my ship with the sun barely rising over the horizon,the shops and stores behind Me were not even open and most of the lights that are turned on during the night are still on and shining as I notice my ship began to move 

it began to leave the docks at a usual pace as I jumped onto my ship to quickly see my other self,leaning on the rails with his spear,holstered on his back as he looked at the main building,that was in the distance

he was looking at a window as I looked towards the same window to see a figure through it,it was Schwester Bismarck,looking at us from her office as I turned to look at my other self to see him slightly waving at Schwester,I looked over to Schwester to see her merely close her eyes,nod slightly,then turn away and move away from the window

it had been so long,since that had happened but I still felt pain from seeing it again as I turned to my other self,who slowly put his arm down and moved away from the railings and walked away towards the front of the ship,I could tell,that there was pain in him,since I felt the same when it first happened

it was the day where I left the base for the Arctic Sea mission,the day where I left many of my friends and met my other Schwester,it was only pain and excitement,that I could feel in Me but it was enough to keep Me going and not enough to break Me down as I walked towards the front of the ship

before I got to the front though,I felt myself get transported,yet again as the scenery around Me changed in an instance before my eyes as I found myself on top of a large iceberg,snow was falling hard in the area as cold winds blew with great force while the sky was darkened with the gray clouds of the north

I knew i was now standing in the Arctic as I looked around for the purpose of being sent here,that was when I looked down to see the Artic water and to see a Battleship down below,holding onto a flagpole that waved the Iron Blood flag with pride and power as the wielder stood their ground despite the numerous enemies in front of them

this of course was none other than my Schwester Tirpitz and like in the past,she was cornered by the prototype Sirens,that were much stronger,than the Sirens I face today,Schwester had backed herself up into a corner and was now surrounded by the enemy as she kept her guard up to try her slight chance of escape,before she could though,numerous shells flew at insanes speed,piercing though the Sirens with ease and decimating them with large explosions 

the Sirens practically scuttled themselves as they all sank to the bottom of the sea while Schwester looked over to see the outline of her saviour,it of course was none other than my other self as my ship sailed through the snow,breaking the ice in front of it while my other self stood at the front of the ship,looking at the destruction,that he caused 

my Schwester only stared at my other self and at my ship as she lowered her guard at the sight of the Iron Blood flag,that waved with the wind on top of my ship,at this time though,she had no seen Me at the front of my ship as my other self had also not seen Schwester from below as he walked away 

Schwester however,followed as she jumped onto the deck of my ship,quickly alerting my other self as he summoned his spear and quickly spun around to point it at Schwester's neck as Schwester took a step back to avoid being hit by the blade of the spear while the 2 stared at each other,my other self with quick confusion and surprise and Schwester with confusion and interest

D.Berlin:who are you and where did you come from

Tirpitz:a-,...Male?

D.Berlin:I get that a lot,now answer the question or I will bring you down

Tirpitz:I am KMS Tirpitz,2nd ship of the Bismarck Class from Iron Blood,you had just saved Me from those Sirens

my other self quickly felt surprised by the revelation,as he should be as he quickly lowered his spear and unsummoned it before looking up to the taller and older Battleship in front of him,which was none other than his and my Schwester

D.Berlin:I'm sorry for my transgression,I did not know,who you were,I am KMS Berlin of Iron Blood 

Tirpitz:your the special help,sent by HQ

D.Berlin:correct,I've been sent to aid you in guarding these waters

Tirpitz:I see,how much experience on the field do you have

D.Berlin:I've only had one real fight with the Sirens and a few small encounters before and during my travel here

Tirpitz(mind):he's very inexperienced,why did HQ send him here?

Tirpitz:hmm,your quite inexperienced then,but you've proven already,that your more than capable to bring these things down,so I guess it balances out

D.Berlin:so what now then

Tirpitz:for now,we stay where we are,I'll contact HQ for further orders 

D.Berlin:understood,I'll keep watch then

Schwester then left with silence as she summoned her ship and jumped onto it's deck,before entering the inside,leaving my other self to himself as he jumped onto the railings of my ship and sat down while looking out to the frozen sea

I felt myself get moved again but nothing much changed as I was still on top of the iceberg but my other self was now firing into the distance as shells flew from my ships cannons before disappearing into the distance,at the same time,Schwester came out of her ship and quickly jumped onto my ship as my other self quickly turned to face her

Tirpitz:what are you doing,if you keep firing like that,the Sirens will find us and come

D.Berlin:no Siren can come at us if there is no Siren to come at us 

Tirpitz:are you-,...........shelling them from here?

D.Berlin:*points North East*there was a fleet,about 10-30 icebergs that way,*points to West*and another fleet,about 20 icebergs in that directions,now there is no fleet in the area

Tirpitz:incredible,perhaps I underestimated you 

D.Berlin:this is nothing,this is my task for most of the time,I was in the base

Tirpitz:I see,then I suppose you've met you Schwester Bismarck already

D.Berlin:....................

Tirpitz:why didn't you tell Me,that you were a Bismarck Class

D.Berlin:....................the last time I did,I was shot at and considered a Siren spy,I was then taken into custody and questioned,then they decided to execute Me-

Tirpitz:............

D.Berlin:if it were not for Ms.Friedrich,Ms.Spee and U-556,I may not be here today

my other self just looked back out to the frozen ocean in front of him,averting eye contact with Schwester as she looked at him with a neutral expression,knowing,what happens next,I watched at Schwester walked up to Me as my other self turned to look at her,only to be pulled into a hug as Schwester wrapped her arms around my other self's head,burying his face near her stomach as my other self stayed still in surprise

Tirpitz:well,that is an unacceptable predicament and transgression against a Bismarck Class,I'll be sure to have those who have wronged you,punished severely for that act of aggression,when we return to base,for now,you no longer have to worry or think of the idea

if my other self had looked up,he would have seen,that Schwester was smiling but he didn't as a small shine of happiness glowed in his eyes,before he wrapped his arms around Schwester and enjoyed her soothing and comforting warmth,and if he had know that,that was her first smile in months,he would sure have been more ecstatic 

before I could look at the sight more,I was once again transported somewhere else as I now found myself,far away from the Arctic and now in a room,it was a decently sized room with a bed and a closet,a drawer,a lamp,a bookshelf and a singular window

I walked up to the window and looked outside as I immediately realized,that I was back in the Iron Blood base and specifically,someone's room as I turned around at the realization,to see,Z46,sitting down on her bed,holding a circular locket made of gold and silver with a blue sapphire in the center,in her hand 

I walked up beside her as I looked at her,stare at the locket with a neutral expression on her face before it quickly turned into a very sad expression as she rubbed the locket with her fingers,before opening it,inside the locket were 2 pictures,in both of them were Me and Z46,the first picture was Me and her,sitting down at the docks while watching the sunset while the other was Me and her,standing at my secret spot while holding hands

I looked at Z46 as she looked like she was about to cry while looking at the pictures but was stopping herself as she held the locket tightly,before bringing it closer to her chest and keeping it close to her 

I could feel her sorrow and sadness and I was aching by just seeing it as my body urged Me to go and comfort her while my mind refused to tell Me why I had to do so,I could explain it nor could I say why I felt this way but I was hurting by just seeing her this sad and I couldn't explain or take it for too long 

thankfully though,I was transported again as I now found myself on the docks of the base as the sun began to set,to my side,I saw both my other self and Z46,sitting down on a concrete walls,that surround a flower bed

his head was resting on top of Z46's head while her's rested on his shoulder while the both of them watched the sunset from below the horizon

Z46:it's always beautiful isn't it

D.Berlin:it is,this view never gets old and it may never will

Z46:everything must come to pass

D.Berlin:true but it never has to be soon,things like this could last an eternity

Z46:yes,yet we do not

D.Berlin:of course,we cannot last an eternity as eventually,we both will come to pass

Z46:but comes after then

D.Berlin:well,that's a hard one to answer,no one really knows but there is something I do know

Z46:what is it

D.Berlin:even at the end of time,you'll always be my Angel

at the mere mention of the words,the world around Me began to collapse as the world broke down into pieces as the other Me and Z46,shattered into a thousands fragments while I fell back into the empty and infinite void as I watched the rest of the world I was in,shatter like the rest 

Back into the real world

I woke up to the light breeze in the air as I drowsily opened my eyes and readjusted my vision,my mind immediately went back to the dream I supposedly had as I looked around the place,to find,that I was in the room where Me and my Schwesters slept last night as I sat up and rubbed my eyes 

I looked to my sides and saw both of my Schwester,fast asleep with Schwester Bismarck's back turned towards Me while Schwester Tirpitz had both hands on the pillow as she lightly snored away in her dreams

I looked down to myself and found myself,once again wearing the casual nightwear,bought for Me by Ms.Friedrich as I stood up from the matress and immediately walked towards my uniform,that was once again neatly folded on the kotatsu as I quicly changed and left the room

I couldn't get my mind off the dream,that had as I thought back to everything I had seen in the dream,there was the feeling of familiarity in it but also the feeling of uncertainty in Me as I couldn't decided if it was real or fake while I walked along the hallway to get out of the guest building 

unconsciously,I put my hand into my shirt as I rummage through my inner pockets,I looked down as I felt my hand go through my pockets in search of something as I was about to pull it out until I felt my hand grip something tightly in my palm as I pull out the mystery item and look at it

it was a locket,made of gold and silver with a blue sapphire in the middle,I opened the locket in disbelief as I looked at the photos inside to find,that they were the exact same photos,inside Z46's locket from the dream

I tucked away the locket back into my inner pockets as I hurriedly ran outside and down to the docks to get a breath of fresh air,it was still early morningasthe sun was just about to rise from over the horizon as I ran down to the docks to watch the sunrise

the cold breeze brushed against Me as I walked up to the docks to find a familiar silver haired girl,standing at the end of the docks in front of me,also watching the sunrise alone as she stared off into the distance without realizing my presence as I walked up behind her

Berlin:you must be in pretty deep thought to not notice my presence and let Me get this close

Z46:S-Si-,I mean Berlin,sorry just had thought and spaced out

Berlin:I could tell,what were you thnking about

Z46:the past,moments we wished we could have again

Berlin:a common desire but most desirable

Z46:mmm,at this point though,I doubt I can get those moments back

Berlin:why is that

Z46:I don't know,it just feels like I can't,it just seems out of reach 

Berlin:well-

I pulled out the locket from my shirt and held it by both ends of the silver chain,that it was attached to as I put it around Z46's neck,surprising her as I sealed the locket around her with a chain lock,after sealing it,she looked down at the locket in surprise as she quickly looked like she was  about to burst into tears before she looked at Me in shock while I looked back at her with a slight bit of embarassment and small smile on my face

Berlin:I don't see why it has to be

Z46:Berlin-

Berlin:s-sorry if I kind of forgot,2 years alone kind of makes you forget about a-

she never let Me finish as she launched herself onto Me with a tight hug as she fell into tears,muffling her sobs with my shirt as her tears lightly wet my shirt while I hugged back,just as tight as I rubbed the back of her head to comfort her

Z46:you remember*sobs*you really remember,I can't believe it*sobs*I-

Berlin:I'm sorry for forgetting,I can't even believe I forgot,but I remember now,and now nothing will come between us

Z46:of course*sobs*just like you promised

Berlin:yeah,just like I promised,you'll always be my Angel afterall
