It didn't take long for Zuikaku and Shoukaku to find everyone missing as the fleet was reassembled and ready for departure in a quick 20 minutes as the Sakura Empire quickly made their hasty escape from the Northern sea's with great speed,with much of the fleet tired out from the battle in the mirror sea and the large morale lost from the loss of one of their superiors,they all couldn't afford to fight another battle

When they all finally made their return to their land,they were greeted by the many ships that remained there to defend the base but instead of getting the congratulations or celebrations,that the defenders were expecting,they were instead met by the large fatigue force of the Sakura Empire that were battered and tired from their 15 hour travel back from the North

So instead of having a large celebration for the victory they achieved,the base defenders instead helped the fleet members to the medical bay for rest and recuperation with the exception of a few,who stubbornly refused to go to the medical bay with the others,they all claimed to be fine yet their words were not even half true,with their wounds and bruises showing all across their body,leading to the others to forcefully bring them to the medical bay for rest

Despite their mostly successful efforts to bring everyone into the medical bay,everyone didn't dare try their luck with one particular Battleship,who walked away from them along with a white haired Destroyer without saying a word

This of course was Nagaro and Kasumi,who just wanted to get away from everyone and make sure the other was ok and not going to do something stupid,with all that,that's happened,clearing the mind was one of the only 2 things,Nagaro had his priority on right now and Kasumi followed him,just to make sure,he doesn't hurt himself while doing so and so despite the want to be along as of right now,the male Kitsune just let the girl be as he enjoyed her company the most,compared to the others as of late

Kasumi:so,Sir Nagaro,what are you going to do now

Nagaro:...............................nothing,so why don't you go get some rest like the others

Kasumi:what about you though

Nagaro:I'll be fine,I......just need to thunk to myself,I'll be in the public gardens,so you know where to find Me,ok

Kasumi:ok,take care then,Sir Nagaro

Nagaro:you as well,Kasumi

It was then,when the 2 had gone separate ways for now as Kasumi left Nagaro's side to return to her own room,within the house she shared with the rest of the "Task Force Swirling Cherry Blossom" while Nagaro went of to a secluded part of the public Garden to go and think to himself in peace and quiet

After a weeks time,since the battle in the mirror sea,the Sakura Empire finally fully recovered to their full strength and were ready to fight again,however due to the still huge loss of Shinano,morale was never fully restored to it's peak look,Musashi and Yamato had become a little distant from the others officers but still continued their duties as high ranking officers of the Sakura Empire

When the Sakura Empire mainland got word of Shinano's sinking,there were those who were furious with the sudden knowledge and there were those who became increasingly worried for the safety of the faction,yet the moment they found,that they found out,that her sinking was due to her protecting their much stronger and much more powerful super Battleship,many opinions changed in mere minutes

When it came to Nagaro,even the highest of authority's in the Sakura Empire have come to acknowledge that,messing with Nagaro was a death sentence waiting to happen,to deny his beliefs,to harm things or those he cares about,to disagree with his way of thinking and to get in his way was easy way to get to the afterlife and only few people dare to go against these facts

The Sisters of said ship were 2,Kasumi was another and then there was the one who found and created Nagaro from his blueprints,so far,only these 4 and a few minor exceptions have ever gone against his wills and wants

And so,the moment HQ learned of Shinano's death and the reasoning behind it,they were quick to act and make sure that their prized super Battleship would not go haywire or rogue,thus in the last week,the same development team,that had worked on Nagaro had pushed on tirelessly to bring back the lost carrier

Thus leading to the events that are happening now,it took the entire week for the team to bring Shinano back and as soon as the Sakura Empire got word of the news,people were quickly sent to go and pick her up from the mainland and by people,that clearly meant,Nagaro himself,the boy declared that he would go to the mainland on his own and pick up Shinano from the naval base she was docked at and once his Sisters had seen the determined look he had on his face,they agreed and no one argued about it

The officers were clearly still worried about him and his behaviour but they already understood,that there was nothing they could do or say to him for him to change his opinion on them,not after he learned the truth of their secret after all,most of his hate for them had already pass and all that really remained in his feeling for them was disappointment and sadness but even that had become almost meaningless to him

At the current time,Nagaro was sailing out in open ocean with no escorts or any allies in the vicinity,it was just him and the many birds and fishes around as the waves of the ocean surface crash against his hull,he stood at the front of his ship,a calm expression on his face but a tight grip on his sword that he held at his side,his mind was still conflicted and he still couldn't come to terms with himself about Shinano's death,even when he sails forward to escort her back safely

It was all just a giant cloud of confusion for him,one that only makes him want to hurt himself,then the problem with the Orochi would occasionally slip into his thoughts,adding even more weight to himself and more confusion to his thoughts,even the guiding words of the more experienced ships meant nothing in helping him as they were nothing more than a passing noise to his ears

Nagaro(mind):what do I do,how am I meant to destroy the Orochi when I failed to even protect Lady Shinano,what do I do when I see her there,what do I say,what can I say

The troubling feeling of meeting the person he failed ate away at him,adding even more to the conflict he already had with himself,the only thing he could do was attempt to mentally prepare himself for the encounter but even that seemed troubling and difficult for him to do in the current state of mind he was in

Nagaro's POV

It didn't take Me long to reach the naval base,that Lady Shinano was currently staying at as it already came into my view,the base was one of the 9 main bases that protected the mainland from any danger and out of the 9,this was the 2nd largest of them all,it had top of the line equipment,the most advanced defense system of the nations and had thousands of people ready and willing to die to protect the mainland

As I sailed closer,the hull of the ship I was tasked to escort back came into my view as a painful feeling ached across my body,I felt guilt build up in Me and the feeling of shame added on to that as I sailed,closer and closer to the base,from the distance I was at,I could already see people,getting things ready as dozens of people prepared a specific docking space for Me,it was after all the only real dock space in the entire Empire that could fit my ship,so it had to always be completely maintained to absolute perfection by the bases standards

It wasn't long until all the preparations for the dock was finished and as it was just in time as well as I docked my ship into the only space available to Me and anchored my ship down before jumping down onto the docks itself,as soon as I landed,I looked over to my side to see a group of people coming towards Me,it was a relatively small group made of 4 soldiers and 2 scientists,none of them looked like anyone of importance but one of the scientists did wear a confident smirk on their face,giving Me a feeling that this one was smug and overconfident as they approached Me

Scientist1:Sir Nagaro,it is so good to see you in excellent condition

Scientist2:so this is the ship,you guys have been bragging about-

Scientist1:shhhh,quiet,don't talk so snarkly in front of one of your superiors

Scientist2:hmmph,he doesn't look all that tough to-

Nagaro:I have no time for your idle chatter,snarky comments or games,I have a task to be completed and I will not waste time here with you both if you have nothing helpful to say or give to Me

Scientist1:our apologies,Sir Nagaro,excuse my coworkers rudeness and lack of manners,he is still new to this post

Nagaro:it doesn't matter and I will repeat,I will not waste time here,now tell Me where Lady Shinano is or get out of my sight

Scientist1:of course,right away,please follow us,we will bring you to the person,that knows where she is

The scientist ordered the soldiers to leave and motioned Me to follow him as I walked towards him and the other scientist,soon enough,I began to walk between the 2 of them as they led Me towards the main building on the base,we quickly entered the massive building as the Scientist brought Me around the buildings sectors and pointed out a few new things in the building to Me,I was still a bit familiar with the layout of the building but there were indeed a lot of new objects and items added in

Soon enough,I was led into a room,locked behind 2 very thick metal door,the Scientist in front of Me,placed his hand onto a scanner that flashed green after a few moments,the sounds of locks unhinging gave noise as the Scientist opened the doors and led us in,the room,the whole room was massive in size,filled with multiple areas of work with many people working in those areas and each of them working on a completely different thing from the other

We walked inside the room with everyone still hard at work on their own tasks but one hard step forward from Me,made everyone look over to us as the hard sound of my wooden sandals hitting the tiled floor echoed through the room,catching everyone's attention,they all stopped to look over to Me as their expressions all quickly turned to one of surprise as they all began to quickly scramble across the room and fix themselves up before turning to Me again

Scientists:Sir Nagaro,we are honored by your presence here

Nagaro:.......

Scientist1:one of you,please go and contact Ms.Kamina and Sir Nojiro and tell them that Sir Nagaro is already here and waiting

Scientist3:I'll go,please bare with the wait for a little while longer,Sir Nagaro

Nagaro:just make this quick,I have a task and simply want it finished

Scientist3:of course,I'll be on my way 

The scientist quickly left and ran past us as he left to go and find and return with 2 familiar names,and while the Scientist left to retrieve the 2 people,the leading Scientist,that came to meet Me at the docks led Me further into the room,saying that there was a small lounge,I could wait in,he led Me down a few stairs that went down into the main area,where they all worked,but as we walked through the huge room,the Scientist leaned down to Me and whispered into my ear

Scientist1:*whispers*Sir,please be aware,there has been a rumour between the Scientists,that there may be someone looking to threaten your safety with customized Anti-Ship weaponry,that is still in testing,please be cautious

His words held true,ever since Is stepped into the room,I felt a lingering stare of aggression coming towards Me,but it was held back,they were most likely waiting for a better opportunity to strike Me but then again,there attempt would most likely be futile,after all,I already narrowed down the potential attackers to 5 possible people but it would take time,that I didn't want to waste to find out who it is exactly,so I just dropped the thought but kept the warning in mind

Soon after the warning was given,we reached the lounge room,that the Scientist spoke of as he led Me inside,it was a quaint room with normal furnishing,a sofa,a bookshelf with books,a water dispenser,a fridge a table with 4 chairs around it and a window,that shows the outside of the building and gives a good view of the outside of the base

Scientist:you can wait in here for now Sir Nagaro,please make yourself comfortable,Ms.Kamina and Sir Najiro will be here shortly

I didn't bother answering back as I walked over to the sofa and sat down as I made myself comfortable in my seating position,the Scientist simply bowed his head at Me before leaving the room and closing the door behind him,leaving Me alone in the room as I wait for the 2 people that are being called to arrive

I let out a sigh to myself as I fall onto my side on the sofa before I curled up into a ball while I moved one of my tails between my legs as I used it as a hug pillow,the same thoughts that had been plaguing my mind during my travel here had still been on my mind as I walked around this building,it was still eating away at Me and I didn't know how to stop it as the thought kept coming back to my mind

I tried to sleep it off but I couldn't fall asleep,I took a book off the bookshelf and started to read it to take my mind off of the thoughts but I couldn't focus on the book,I stared out the window to look at the scenery to maybe take my mind off of things but that didn't work either,soon enough,I just gave up and curled up into a fetal sitting position on the sofa and let the thoughts continue to eat away at Me

An hour,an hour was how much time,I had already spent in this room without moving,there was no news or updates on the arrival of the 2 Scientists I was supposed to meet,so all I could do was wait until they arrived,I had managed to get those troubling thoughts out of my head but after that,the silence in this room and in my head had become my new torture as the eerie silence got to my already troubled head,the combination of silence,the troubling of the mind and paranoia were the definition of insanity for anyone

But after what felt like an eternity of silence in this room,the sound of the door came straight into my ears as I looked up from my knees,that I had my eyes buried into for the past hour,I looked up to see 2 people standing right in front of the door frame as they both caught their breath with very deep breaths,1 was a woman and the other was a man,the woman had black hair,braided into a single ponytail,purple eyes,red glasses and wore a purple shirt with black pants and black heels with a large white lab coat above it all

The man had dark blue and purple eyes and red glasses as well,he wore a blue shirt and red tie with black pants and black shoes with a large white lab coat above it all as well

I recognized the both of them as I uncurled my legs and hopped off the sofa to stand in front of the 2 as they both continued to catch their breaths while the woman turned her head up to Me while she was slouched over,catching her breath

???1:We are*gasp*..................so sorry Sir*gasp*.........Nagaro

???2:terribly terribly sorry Sir*gasp*..............our work too much longer than we thought

Nagaro:it is fine Ms.Kamina,Sir Nojiro

Kamina:were,really really sorry,please don't be mad

Nagaro:as I've said,it is fine

The 2 took a few more extra moments to catch their breaths and recompose themselves before they both stood up straight and fixed up before looking down to Me as Ms.Kamina kneeled down to my height to look Me,face to face

Kamina:so,how have you been,Sir Nagaro,it's been a while since you were last here

Nagaro:I've been fine,I guess

Kamina:what about Lady Nagato and Lady Mutsu,are they doing fine too

Nagaro:.........

Kamina:something wrong,Sir Nagaro

Nagaro.......it's nothing,their just fine

Nojiro:we're really sorry about the delay of our arrival,waking up Shinano was a lot harder than we thought

Nagaro:I see,where is she now,I must bring her back to base immediately

Kamina:she should already be waiting for us at the docks,please follow us

Nojiro:actually,before we leave,has Kai told you about the potential threat here

Nagaro:if you mean the scientist from before,then yes he has

Kamina:please be careful,Sir Nagaro,their weapons,although experimental are highly dangerous against ships like you

Nagaro:I'll keep it in mind

After our brief talk,they led Me out of the room as we started to walk back towards the exit of rhe building and then towards the docks,the moment I stepped out of the lounge room,I felt the stare of aggression again as I walked between Ms.Kamina and Sir Nojiro,as I continued to walk,the feeling of danger grew and got closer to Me gradually,there was at least 2 of them by my feeling and they were both close

We neared the stairs as Ms.Kamina began to walk up them,when we all heard a voice yell out in the room,I didn't even have to turn my head to see,that 2 scientists charging straight at Me from their areas of work,holding onto some black stick with blue glowing lining across both ends,it took the others a few moments to realize what was happening but they quickly saw what was happening and was already to late to help Me

The 2 scientists charged right at Me,slipping past Sir Nojiro from both sides and going straight for Me as they both readied to strike Me with their stick like weapons,they were fools to even try as I didn't even turn myself to look at them as I made small movement to dodge both of their attacks before using 2 of my tails to grab them both by the neck,the moment they were in range,I held up high enough,that there feet weren't touching the floor as I strangled them while disarming them with my other tails,I threw away the stick like weapons before increasing the strength behind my hold on them as I strangled them more while they tried to wriggle and force their way out

Kamina:S-Sir Nagaro,are you alright

Nojiro:are you hurt,did they get you

Nagaro:as you can both see,I'm perfectly

Kamina:*sigh*thank goodness,those were Hyper Shock Anti-Ship Batons,even those might have been strong enough to knock you out

Nagaro:even so,these 2 are fools to even think,that they could land a hit on Me

Nojiro:thankfully the situation was dealt with quickly,you can set them both down and we'll handle-

I didn't let him finish,what he was saying since I wasn't listening to what he was saying to begin with as I tightened my grip on the 2 even more before summoning 2 balls of black fire,the scientists around,being the curious kinds of people,immediately took interest in the fires I summoned as they examined it from where they a stood,but they quickly lost interest in the fire as they screams of agony and pain,soon filled the room,after I sent the balls of fire to engulf the 2 scientists,that I had caught

Their screams were loud but since the room I was in was a lab,all the sounds were blocked in by soundproof walls,their screams got louder and louder as they tried to put out the fire,that engulfed their entire head while also trying to wriggle their way out of my hold on them,they tried to put out the fire with their hands but it did nothing except spread to their hands,quickening their death even more

One of the two scientists had the bright idea to try and attack Me with my own fire he tightly gripped my tail whilst his hand was on fire,it didn't do anything though as I simply controlled the flame to hurt him and only him,the fire remained tamed and in control as their faces and hands were burned by the fire but after a few moments of watching them scream and panic,I dropped them on the floor as they fell,before the fire immediately and instantly spread all across their body,the 2 rolled around and did anything they could think off to put the fire out but nothing worked as after a minute or two,the 2 scientists,completely turned to dust,leaving nothing,not even bones behind

The other scientists had just watched the scene that had unfolded in front of them without a word or any attempt of interaction whatsoever,Ms.Kamina and Sir Nojiro both had a surprised and slightly scared expression on their face but saud nothing nonetheless as a few small black fires still kindled on the ashes of the 2 scientists

One scientist on the side decided to take a responsible action when seeing a fire in a building and grabbed a bucket of water from his little work area as he tossed the contents of the bucket out and onto the ashes but no water made contact with the floor as it all vaporized from coming into the heated vicinity of the black fire that was still alive on the ashes

They all just stared in awe while I never even looked back at the 2 while they slowly died as I moved my tails towards the front of Me,so I could dust them off as if nothing so gruesome had just happened

Kamina:Sir Nagaro,did you really just-

Nagaro:they were foolish,to even have the thought,that they could take Me down or strike Me,so I dealt with them

Nojiro:y-yeah but you didn't have to-

Nagaro:what's done is done,nothing can be done about it now and we've wasted enough time already,will you both lead Me or not

The 2 remained silent but soon after,motioned Me to follow them as we began to walk out of the lab again,soon enough,we made it out of the large lab and made our way to the front of the building and soon after,towards the docks,where Lady Shinano is supposedly waiting,our walk was silent,most likely because the 2 were scared to say word,worried that they might end up like those 2 in the lab,so instead of remaining silent,I decided to ask a question,that I've been wondering about since I got to the lab

Nagaro:Ms.Kamina

Kamina:y-yes,w-what is it

Nagaro:where is Lady Hona,shouldn't she be here

Nojiro:a-ah,Lady Hona is on a trip this week,she's visiting another lab for some extra information on a project we're doing

Nagaro:I see,please send her my regards when she returns here

Kamina:o-of course

Kamina & Nojiro(mind):he's so different from when we last saw him

A little after my talk with the 2,we made it out of the building and then made our way towards the docks,over near the edge of our destination,I could see a tall woman being guarded by 15 soldiers,she had long blue-ish gray hair with blue-ish gray fox ears and blue eyes,she wore a kimono with a black,blue and white color scheme with a white dress underneath,she had 9 large fox tails of the same color as her hair and the same size as Lady Yamato's and had 5 moon like spheres floating around her

As we walked towards the docks,I was led towards the woman,meaning,I could only assume that she was Lady Shinano,but there was doubt in my mind as she looked nothing like the Lady Shinano I knew or had saved my life

Once we got closer,the soldiers guarding the woman became at ease and quickly dispersed from the area,leaving only us the woman in front of us,she looked down at Me while I looked up to her as I analyzed her from head to toe,to see if she really was,Lady Shinano

???:hello again,Sir Nagaro,it has been a little while,since I saw you

Nagaro:this is,Lady Shinano???

Kamina:yes,we understand if your a little weary as she looks nothing like the Lady Shinano,you had known,but we can assure,that this is her

Nojiro:while reconstructing her,we took rhe liberty to enhance her and upgrade her while we were at it,now she's more powerful than ever

Shinano:it is true,though my appearance may differ,I am indeed the Shinano you knew

Nagaro:..............I see,then I'm glad to see you alive once more Lady Shinano,I've been tasked to escort you back to base

Shinano:of course,I'm aware of your reason to be here already and we can already be on our way

Kamina:her ship is already to go,do have a safe trip and stay safe

Nagaro:of course,we'll ride on my ship for our travel

We said our goodbye's to Ms.Kamina and Sir Nojiro before walking off towards my ship as Lady Shinano,unsummoned hers before we both jumped onto my ship from the docks as I unanchored my ship before beginning to sail away,back to base

After a long while of sailing,we were now only 10 minutes away from the base,it had been a very silent trip as I kept my distance from Lady Shinano and tried to make as minimal contact with her as I could,despite her new appearance,she was still the same person,I knew and the thought of failing her was still in my head,making Me unable to look at her

I sat on my front most cannon with no idea where Lady Shinano is on my ship as I blankly stare off into the horizon,still thinking about that moment back in the mirror sea,I was so focused on my thoughts,that I hadn't realized,that Lady Shinano was already sitting down right behind Me,breaking my train of thoughts as she spoke

Shinano:Sir Nagaro,attempting to avoid Me will not help you with your troubling thoughts

Nagaro:L-Lady Shinano,when did you-

Shinano:I've been here for little while now,watching you to see if you will notice but you were too absorbed in your thoughts to realize,this one's presence

Nagaro:...........................

Shinano:Nagaro,tell Me,why are you troubled by my death

Nagaro:.............are you not troubled by it?

Shinano:no,I am not

Nagaro:why

Shinano:because,why should I be

Nagaro:YOU DIED!!!,YOU WERE KILLED BECAUSE YOU HAD TO PROTECT ME!!!!,DOES THAT NOT BOTHER YOU!!!!

Shinano:no,not in the slightest

Nagaro:HOW!!!,I GOT YOU KILLED,I SHOWED WEAKNESS AND IT COSTED YOUR LIFE,HOW CAN YOU NOT BE-

Before I could finish,I felt Lady Shinano's embrace from behind Me as as I felt myself be carried up and then sat back down as I now sat on Lady Shinano's lap while she made my head rest on her chest

Shinano:Nagaro,you must come to terms with yourself,it wasn't your fault I died,though you showed weakness in a critical moment,it was my choice to block the attack,resulting in my death

Nagaro:but if I hadn't shown that weakness,you wouldn't have had to-

Shinano:that was something you couldn't foresee,even with all your ability and strength,there are just something's you can't control

Nagaro:but-

Shinano:no,if you continue to break yourself down like this,how will you protect the others,if you showed one opportunity of weakness to the enemy and I perished as a result,what do you think will happen if you continue to break yourself,like what you're now

Nagaro:..............

Shinano:move past that mistake and learn from it,what's done is done and there's nothing more you can do about it now

I felt Lady Shinano's hand brush through my hair as she rubbed the back on my head,I felt like crying as I rested my head on her chest while she gently rubbed my head,eventually,I gave in and broke down as tears streamed down my face while I lightly sobbed,Lady Shinano continued to rub my head while pulled Me further into her embrace as I instinctively wrapped my arms around her waist and buried my face in her chest as I lightly sobbed

This lasted for quite a while until I finally calmed down as I pull away from Lady Shinano's embrace but still sat on her lap and laid my head on her chest

Shinano:do you feel,better now

Nagaro:y-yes,thank you,Lady Shinano

Shinano:good,now I want to ask you about Orochi

Nagaro:Orochi

Shinano:it was created as the salvation of the Sakura Empire and to ensure our victory,I was skeptical about when I first heard of the idea but after I was reborn in this body,I knew it would become our downfall

Nagaro:then you understand,that it must be destroyed

Shinano:I do but my Sisters,your Sisters and the others do not,they will protect it with their lives if they have to,all to ensure our victory

Nagaro:but we have to destroy it,no matter the cost

Shinano:yes,or else it will be the ruin of us all

Nagaro:then,what should I do,I don't want to harm anyone from the Empire but they'll all risk their lives for it,I don't know what to do,Lady Shinano

Shinano:listen to Me,Sir Nagaro-

Lady Shinano lifted Me up and placed Me back down on my turret head as she stood up and looked out into the distance of the horizon as I looked at where she looked at,for Me to see,that the base had already come into view

Shinano:I cannot tell you,what to do or how to do things,these are tasks you must do on your own,however,your objective is clear and you have the power to finish it

Nagaro:but what if I can't,what if I fail

Shinano:you won't fail,Sir Nagaro,I know you won't,I cannot tell you if you made the right choice but I can tell you,that you will know if you chose right when the time comes

Her words were cryptic and hard to understand but within those words was wisdom that I did understand and with that in mind,I've made my choice,the destruction of the Orochi must happen at all costs and that will require allies

We made it back to base,where I saw all the Sakura Empire Officers along with a large group of Sakura Empire ships,gathered at the docks,I already knew why they were all waiting there as I jumped off of my ship with Lady Shinano right behind Me,when Lady Yamato and Lady Musashi saw her,they were barely holding back tears as I re-introduced Lady Shinano to everyone,Lady Yamato and Lady Musashi quickly went to hug their sister as the 3 held each other in each other's arms as they kept themselves in a tight hug

Once the 3 had separated,the crowd quickly crowded around Lady Shinano and started to bombard her with questions,which Lady Yamato and Lady Musashi tried to control

I looked over to the side and saw my Sisters and the Officers of the Sakura Empire before I simply looked away and started to walk away while trying to forget the scene in the cave,that they had show Me

I walked away from the docks as quickly as I could as I began to walk up the base,where I ran into Kasumi,who was just the person,I was looking for in this exact moment
