Chapter 9: Post-battle Intermission

"How could you lose to him?!" Queen Elizabeth shouted at Warspite.

Warspite frowned. "I-I'm sorry, Your Majesty... I didn't stand a chance..."

"Huh?!" Queen Elizabeth shouted. "You hit him in the head, didn't you?! What happened?!"

"Oi." (Y/n) walked over to them, clearly disgusted on how she acted. "What the hell are you doing?"

"Y-You..." Queen Elizabeth glared. "You stay out of this!"

"Is that how you really act towards your sister?" (Y/n) said, making her gasp. "I was right. You've sunken lower than those Siren ships I've took down."

"You dare insult me?!" Queen Elizabeth screamed in rage.

"I FUCKING dare." (Y/n) retorted. "You think that just because you have the whole Azur Lane on your side I will be scared of you?"

Alexandra approached the male battleship and placed her hand on his shoulder. "(Y/n), calm down. Let's talk this over."

"Shut up." (Y/n) turned his attention towards her. "Do you really let that brat insult her very own sister? What an incompetent commander you are."

Alexandra gasped as she took a step back, clearly shocked on what he said. "That's not-"

"No, I've heard enough." (Y/n) interrupted and turns back to the loli battleship, who was staring at him intently. "If you want to take me down, do it yourself. You're pissed just because someone insulted you? Hmph. How pathetic."

'EMOTIONAL DAMAGE!' The whole Iowa-class internally cheered for their husbund, who was completely roasting Queen Elizabeth's pride. 'Very effective! We're proud of you, darling~!'

"..." Queen Elizabeth found no words to reply after being damaged emotionally.

"That's what I thought." (Y/n) said his final words before walking away from the scene of the murder.

"Elizabeth, go to my office and wait for me there. That's an order." Alexandra commanded and ran after (Y/n).

(Y/n) lets out a sigh, finally getting himself to calm down after the small ordeal. He took a sip from his cup which had a black coffee in it.

"(Y/n)." Alexandra called out.

"What? Came to lecture me?" (Y/n) scoffed. "Get lost. I'm not in the mood."

"No. I'm just..." Alexandra frowned. "I think you're right. I shouldn't have let Elizabeth act towards Warspite like that. I really am a pathetic Commander..."

"No, I'm the one who should apologize." (Y/n) said. "I lost my composure back there and said some things to you, but I'm really pissed at that loli right now."

Alexandra sighed. "She tends to act like that, but trust me, she's a good person."

"Good person? Is that how a good person act towards others?" (Y/n) asked her. "I know that you will have misunderstandings with siblings, but she shamed Warspite in front of everybody!"

"..."

"Do you think that a good person will do that shit?"

"N-No..."

"She's acting all high and mighty, but she's just a dog that's all bark and no bite." (Y/n) remarked and took another sip. "Elizabeth is lucky she has a sister, yet she treats her like a fucking servant. Not even showing concern about her well-being considering how much damage she took from me."

"How about you?" Alexandra inquired. "I was scared for a moment there because I thought you died! That was point blank! How were you able to withstand that?"

"Simple: I'm fucking invincible." (Y/n) stated with a chuckle and drank the coffee, emptying the cup. "Just kidding. I just managed to block the shells with my sword. Just barely though. Those wounds I got were from the shrapnels."

"You recovered pretty quick, I say." Alexandra remarked in surprise. "Do you have rapid regeneration or something?"

"Natural talent?" (Y/n) shrugged. "I dunno. It's a kansen thing."

Alexandra hummed in response. "I know this isn't the right time and inappropriate to ask you this, but... How did you managed to grab the whole Iowa-class?"

"Uh... Well... I did not grab the whole class. They were the ones that came up to me. Iowa was the first one, though." (Y/n) became hesitant. "It all started thirty-one years ago. It was a warm, summer day..."

-Flashback-

(Y/n) was drinking a cup of black coffee, watching the sea and the seagulls flying by. The year was 1999, and was quite the bizzare summer for him.

The male kansen was standing near the shore, taking his break after his supperiors gave him a month-long vacation as a reward for his contribution in the war. Many would say that its too short, but to him, its good enough.

"How I love the smell of coffee in the morning..." (Y/n) mumbled with a smile.

He then noticed two girls walking nearby. Using his enhanced eyesight, he got a clear look on their faces. If he remembered correctly, the girls were Iowa and Missouri, two of the Iowa-class battleships.

They seemed to be talking, but he couldn't hear them since he was a bit far away. He shrugged, paid no mind with them and just drank his coffee.

"Hey, that's Montana, right?" Iowa asked.

"Hmm... yeah." Missouri confirmed. "But I heard he prefered to be called (Y/n). I don't know why, though."

"I'm gonna go greet him." Iowa said and began her approach.

"Wha-? Hey, sis! Wait up!" Missouri ran after her sister, stopping her.

"What now?" Iowa grumbled.

"Be careful around him. He seems... odd." Missouri warned. "I-It's not like he's done something wrong, but..."

"Don't worry so much, Missouri." Iowa assured. "It's not like he's going to eat me or anything."

Missouri just sighed and lets her sister do her own thing. Meanwhile, Iowa had continued to walk over to him and finally got close enough.

"Um... excuse me?" Iowa said.

(Y/n) turned his attention towards Iowa. "Yes?"

The moment their eyes met, Iowa froze in the spot as her heart began beating faster.

"I- Uh... Um... you see..." Iowa stuttered. 'Oh God, he's so handsome! W-What do I do? This is embarrasing!'

"Ma'am, are you okay? You're just standing there and mumbling..." (Y/n) looked at her in confusion. "Um... hello?"

Iowa's gaze then shifted to his hand, causing her to blush more. "Y-Your hand..."

(Y/n) became more confused. "Excuse me?"

"Please, let me see your hand!" Iowa begged.

"O...kay?" (Y/n) hesitantly held out his left hand.

Iowa gently rubbed her hand against his, her delicate fingers running down on his knuckles. "Your skin is rough yet soft..."

"Hey!" (Y/n) was creeped out and quickly pulled his hand away, much to the dismay of Iowa. "What the hell are you doing, woman? Its still early in the morning and you're already harrasing someone?"

Iowa did not listen to his remarks and grabbed his hand again. "Marry me and be my husband! Please!"

"What...?" (Y/n) muttered. "Are you alright in the head?"

"Yes! I'm perfectly fine!" Iowa proclaimed. "I'm perfectly fine, so marry me and have kids!"

Missouri appeared and hand-chopped Iowa's neck, knocking her out cold. "I'm sorry about her. I hope you're not wierded put with her demeanor."

"I am creeped out, yes." (Y/n) said.

"Again, I'm sorry for the trouble she caused you. She just have this uncontrollable hand fetish." Missouri apologized.

"No... it's fine. I'm just startled." (Y/n) waved her off.

"I'm gonna take her somewhere far." Missouri said as she carried Iowa in her shoulder. "Have a good day."

Missouri then walked away, leaving our protaginist alone in the shore. (Y/n) sighed and took another sip of his coffee.

"Good grief..." He muttered.

-Flashback end-

"So that's what Missouri meant..." Alexandra said in awe.

(Y/n) chuckled. "Yep."

"To be fair, I'd be scared and confused too if someone would suddenly just come up to me and ask me to marry them." Alexandra added.

"Especially if he or she has a hand fetish." (Y/n) agreed.

"(Y/n)! Get over here, now!" Iowa called out from afar.

(Y/n) flinched. "Sorry Commander, but I think our conversation ends here. Pray for my soul if you don't see me tomorrow."

"Okay, then..." Alexandra said. 'Did he just... flinch? The Iowa-class must be scary that even the strongest battleship is scared of them.'
