Mikasa
So when someone is old fashioned and needs to get with times, they could use a hand. Which brings us to a modern ship girl little romance.
Enjoy.

(Also, some of these stories may be connected. If you haven't noticed)
Mikasa was the one in charge of the heavy duty office cleaning. She did the important rooms such as the Captain's Quarters, the ball room, and other main places of the buildings. Mikasa was the best because her ways were the best. Maybe old fashioned to many, but there were some of her ways that were better. Wiping surfaces with clothes that got washed periodically was better and had less chemicals. A good broom was good to help get rubbish out of corners. And she had a vacuum cleaner that she had used for the longest time. Until one day-
Mikasa was focused on getting the carpet cleaned in the Captain's Quarters. He was coming back tomorrow after his business voyage. When suddenly she realized that the dust from the carpets was going everywhere. The bristles on her broom were going in nearly every direction imaginable. This was an important job. To have the honor of the Commander trusting someone clean his office was a great honor. With that she had to act fast. With that, Mikasa left all of her cleaning materials there in the office an locked it shut. She was off to Inventory to her hands on tools and material. A new broom and while she was it.
There was a man at the desk drinking a bottle of water for the department. He saw Mikasa and put the bottle down. "Hello. I'm (FN). They call me Hank. How can I help you?"
"I need tools and material to clean." Replied Mikasa.
"Alright. What are we doing? Tell me what you got, I'll get a list, and I will bring it right to you once they get the delivery and counts finished. Shouldn't be long."
Mikasa shook her head. "If you insist. But if it is the only way I guess I have no choice. I need to get the carpets swept. I need a broom. Two for good measure. Then some furniture cleaner and rags."
Hank wrote everything down. "Okay. Grab yourself something cold to drink since you've been working hard and I will meet you there. Might even give you a hand."
"Okay. Much appreciated." She bowed. "I'm behind as is."
A broom for the carpet. Of all of the old way is the best way ideas, that one is by far the worst. Wiper, nah. By broom over a vacuum I'm bringing? No way. Let's hope she gets with it.

The time was passing as Mikasa seemed a little worried. Commander back sooner rather than later and she had other tasks. But with Inventory held back there was nothing she could do. She found herself in a chair inside the room with the door unlocked. Drinking some cold water as she looked outside with a little breeze.
There was a knock on the door. "Is anyone in? I have a delivery." Said a man.
"It's open. You may enter." Called Mikasa from inside.
"Sorry it took so long." The door opened and a big box was placed on the floor. "Commander's royalty red carpet need a clean. Let me find a plug for you."
"What for?" She asked.
"I'll make up for lost time." Hank walked the plug over to an outlet. Then he turned on a machine that Mikasa was unfamiliar with. He started walking carefully against the corner of the wall. A small metal unit connected with a hose followed close behind him.
Mikasa heard the loud humming and was beside herself. "What is that?"
"This?" Hank pointed to it. "Vacuum cleaner. Watch this." Hank finished one row of the floor and started the next one. Going slowly and in a line as straight as he could. The difference was night and day. Amazing on how much dust was in a room that looked already clean as it is.
"Goodness." Gasped Mikasa impressed on his technique.
Hank shut off the machine and put it down. "So in the box I have two brooms, a dust pan, and hand broom, and some cleaners. I brought this from Inventory to help out. You seem quite busy. And I'd thought I would help since I have downtime."
"Help, that could do this room in no time. Wow... I've, never used one."
"Seriously..." Hank was appalled. A woman who is cleaning the big cheese's office has never used a vacuum before. They've been around for a long time coming now. "Well, guess it's a good thing I showed up."
"Sorry." Mikasa blushed. "I'm not good with modern stuff."
"Well I'm here to help. Why do you think they call me Hank?"
"Why?"
"Help And Needed Kindness. But really, (FN) is fine. Sounds like everything worked out great here. So, how about you dust wipe down the services while I handle the carpet. Sound good?" He winked at her.
"Sounds right. Okay."
The two of them were able to work in a solid fashion. (FN) took his time vacuuming as Mikasa got to the desk, cabinets, glass, and hard to reach spots. The sun was shining in and Mikasa was a little less worried since she had some help. At least for the time being. It got to the point where it seemed nearly picture perfect to a movie set. A film could be made there. It was just so clean and tidy. (FN) shut off the vacuum and put it outside of the room as Mikasa was finishing up. Ringing out her rag one last time.
"Thank you." She smiled.
"My pleasure." He nodded.
"So, how much is that vacuum..."
"Tell you what. This one is a little bit old and the shop does need a new one. I will see what the boss says and," He put a finger over his lips meaning a shush. "Work something out." A wink added to that.
"I never thought something like this would be better. There are some things that just don't do the same thing."
He shook his head. "You have to sweep before you mop. Some just want to throw water and watch it dry. Quick wipes clog and pile up fast. Again, depends on what you're doing. I'm in charge of a lot in Inventory but before I got there it was sanitation. So yeah, just like what you're doing. But never had the chance to be here." Looking around at the crown trim on the top of the walls was remarkable. A style from the Victorian era. "It's quite nice."
"You're right. Sometimes I get so focused on work that I forget the charm it has. It wears off a little bit here and there." Mikasa looked at the same spot. "So, where are you heading now?"
"Probably dump the waste out of this and help you with the next one. Sound good?" He looked at her.
"That's, not what I meant..."
"Oh?" He got the hint. "How about yourself? How about we make plans?"
"How's dinner?" She asked.
"Name your place." He smirked.
"I don't want to burden you." She cooed.
"I didn't come here to look at carpets and a trim job."
"Could we, maybe walk and find a restaurant after I'm done? Do you work after five? I kind of want to get cleaned up." She was a little embarrassed. Hoping that things would fall in her favor.
"The same. 5:15 and I will be ready to meet you anywhere. Wherever you like." He grabbed a hold of her hand.
"Hank. You're so sweet." The serious demeanor was fading away little by little. It was now a curious and an unsure. Unsure about technology or the dating world. Until now.
"I try to be Mikasa. So, it's a date. And if you're wondering, I know how to treat a woman. Especially one that doesn't know how pretty she is." He winked at her and gave her a hug. She gasped as she was so flustered. He could feel her face burning. "I'll see you soon."
"Is this-"
"This what?" He asked as she still hung onto him.
"So this is love?" She whispered.
"I know how to dance to it too. I learned from a guy from the ball who danced with one of the maids. So, it's a date."
