Hey guys/girls, sorry I haven't been able to update in a while. I just got back from my trip and now I can resume with the story. Anyway, let's begin.

Some time has passed since Paul left the naval base, and since that battle, David gained the respect of the admiral and all of the other commanders at the base. He was also liked by many of the other shipgirls on the base. One day...

Wales: "Commander, here's the last of the paperwork."

David: "Alright, thank you Wales."

While David was filling in the paperwork, Wales saw a letter on David's desk.

Wales: "Commander, there's a letter on your desk. Who is it from?"

David: "I don't know. I haven't opened it yet. I'll open it as soon I finish this last file."

Wales: "OK."

After finishing the last of the paperwork, David read the letter.

Wales: "So, what's inside?"

David: "It's an invitation from the Royal Navy. They are hosting a party later this Sunday and they want me to attend."

Wales: "Oh, that party. I heard about it from Hood. She said that all the commanders on the base were invited."

David: "I see..."

Wales: "What's wrong?"  Wales asked curiously.

David: "They say that I should bring a date to the party."

Wales: "Oh, who will you take?"

David: "Isn't it obvious? You of course."

Hearing that, Wales started to blush.

Wales: "M-me? You want me to be your date?"

David: "Of course I do. I can't think of anyone else to bring to the party other than you. Would you like to go with me?"

Wales: "Of course! I would love to." she said happily.

David: "Alright then, I'll meet you at the ballroom on Sunday."

Wales: "Alright."

The next day, David went to the shopping district to buy a tuxedo to wear at the party. While looking at some of the suits, he saw Alex and Harry buying clothes to wear at the party.

David: "Hey, Alex! Harry!"

Alex: "Hey, its David! What are you doing here?"

David: "Looking for a tuxedo to wear at the party."

Harry: "Oh, OK. We just bought ours. Why don't we find one for you too?"

David: "Sure."

While looking for a suit for David, Alex asked a question.

Alex: "Hey David, who will bring to the party?"

David: "My secretary ship, Wales. What about you?"

Alex: "I'm going to bring Yorktown. What about you Harry?"

Harry: "You'll see later. It's still a secret."

David: "Cmon dude, tell us."

Harry: "You'll just have to wait, hehe."

Alex: "Alright man, whatever you say."

After buying their suits, they went to a restaurant to get some lunch. After having lunch, they said goodbye to each other and David went back to his room. When he got there, he put his tuxedo in his closet and went to the bathroom to take a shower, but just before he entered the bathroom, he heard someone knocking on his door. When he opened the door, he saw Akagi.

Akagi: "Hello commander~"

David: "Uh, hello Akagi. What are you doing here?"

Akagi: "I heard that you were invited to the party this weekend. Why don't you bring me along to the party as your date?"

David: "Uh, sorry Akagi, but I already asked Wales to be my date for the party."

Akagi: "Oh, OK. I understand commander. I'll see you later then."

David: "Alright then."

David then closed the door, leaving Akagi in her thoughts. Why did the commander choose her over me? That little pest. She will regret ever going near the commander! Akagi thought to herself.

The next day, David went to his office to pick up his phone. On his way there he met Hood.

Hood: "Oh, hello commander David. Where are you going?"

David: "To my office. I left something there. And you?"

Hood:" I'm going to prepare for the party this evening. You are attending the party, aren't you?"

David: "Of course. Why wouldn't I attend?"

Hood: "OK then. Who will you bring to the party?"

David: "Wales of course."

Hood: "Oh, are you two a couple now?" she asked teasingly.

David: "W-what are you talking about?!" he said while blushing.

Hood: "I'm joking commander. Anyway, I want to say thank you too."

David: "For what?"

Hood: "For making Wales happy. She always talks about you, you know? How happy you made her. How kind you are to her, she never stops talking about it."

David: "Really?"

Hood: "Yes! She is so grateful to have a commander like you."

Hearing what Hood said, David smiled.

David: "The truth is, Wales is the one that makes me happy. Just being with her puts a smile on my face."

Hood: "That's good to hear. Anyway, I have to go. I'll see you later commander."

After that, she ran off.

(David's point of view)
I didn't know Wales felt that way about me. I have to make sure that she keeps being happy David thought to himself.

A few hours later

It was evening at the port and David was waiting for Wales at the front of the ballroom.

(David's point of view)

Wow, the ballroom sure is big. I didn't know there was a building like this at the port David thought to himself. He then heard someone calling his name. He then turned around to see who it was. It was Wales.

Wales: "Hi David."

David: "Uh, hello Wales."

Wales was wearing a beautiful red dress which stunned David. She looks so beautiful in that dress! David thought to himself.

Wales: "So, what do you think?"

David: "It looks great on you. You look so beautiful."

Hearing that, Wales began to blush.

Wales: "Uh, t-thank you, David."

David: "Well then, shall we go inside?"

Wales: "Sure!"

David and Wales then went inside. When they got inside, they immediately saw Alex with Yorktown.

David: "Alex!"

Alex: "Hey David. Have you seen Harry yet? We were supposed to meet up here."

David: "No, I haven't."

They then heard Harry's voice behind them. They turned around to see Harry with his secretary.

Alex: "You're late!"

Harry: "Sorry, I was busy putting on my suit. Anyway, I'd like you two to meet my secretary."

Lexington: "Hello everyone. My name is Lexington. It's nice to meet you all."

Alex: "So this is your secretary huh? Nice to meet you too Lexington."

Suddenly, the speaker turned on and everyone turned their attention to the center of the ballroom.

Admiral: "Good evening everyone. I welcome you to the annual dance party of the Royal Navy. I hope everyone here will have a good time. Tonight is the night to rejoice, so everyone, enjoy yourselves. Cheers!"

Everyone gave applause. The party then went underway. There were lots of people at the party, some were enjoying the food, others were talking to each other. David, Alex, and Harry went to get some drinks for their shipgirls. When they returned, they began to have conversations with each other. While they were talking, the admiral approached the group.

Admiral: "Hello everyone. How are you doing? I hope you are enjoying the party."

David: "Hello admiral. We are. This is the first time I've been to a party like this."

Admiral: "I see. By the way, I'd like to introduce you all to my secretary ship, King George V.

KGV: "Hello, my name is King George V.  Pleased to meet you."

KGV then saw someone she was familiar with amongst the group.

KGV: "Wales, is that you?!"

Wales: "Yes, it's me, sister."

David: "Wait, you two are sisters?"

Wales: "Yes we are. She is my older sister."

KGV: "My, look at you! You look so beautiful in that dress, and it looks like you found a keeper, am I right?"

Wales: "W-what are you talking about?!" she said while blushing.

KGV: "You know what I mean. David, isn't it? Please take care of my little sister. I assure you that she'd make a great partner for you."

Wales: "GEORGE, STOP IT!" she said while blushing even more.

All David could do was smile. Then the music started to play, signaling everyone to come to the dance floor and start dancing.

Admiral: "Shall we dance, darling?"

KGV: "Why of course."

The two then headed towards the dance floor. The others followed them as well. David then let out his hand.

David: "Wales, may I have this dance?"

Wales: "Of course. Lead the way my knight in shining armor." she said happily.

The two then went to the dance floor.

David: "Uh, Wales, I don't know how to dance."

Wales: "Don't worry. I'll teach you. First, put one of your hands on my hips."

David: "Like this?"

Wales: "Yes. Now I put my hand on your shoulder. Now give me your other hand."

David: "Like this?"

Wales: "Yes."

The two then started to dance.

(Wales point of view)

I can't believe I'm dancing with David! It's like a dream come true! she thought to herself.

Wales: "I'm gonna move a little closer now, OK?"

David: "OK."

Wales then moved closer to David.

(David's point of view)

She's so close! I can see her red eyes clearly. They're so beautiful! I can stare at them for hours... he thought to himself.

Without even noticing it, they danced to the center of the ballroom. Wales then suddenly placed her head on David's chest. This caught the attention of their friends. Both Hood and KGV cried tears of joy seeing Wales so happy.

(Wales point of view)

I feel so safe when I'm with David. I don't care if people are looking. I just want to be with him she thought to herself.

(David's point of view)

She's so close! I just want to be with her and protect her David thought to himself.

Suddenly the music then stopped and everyone stopped dancing, but Wales was still holding on to David.

David: "Uhh, Wales?"

Wales: "Hm?"

David: "The dance is over, so you can let go of me now."

Wales: "Just a little longer."

Hood and KGV then approached the two.

Hood: "Wales, we're so happy that you found a commander who cares about you so much!"

KGV: "David, please take good care of my sister."

David: "I will. I promise."

After the party...

Everyone said their goodbyes and went back to their own rooms, but David and Wales were still talking to each other.

Wales: "Thank you David. I had a wonderful time. I'll never forget it."

David: "Me too. Well then, I'll see you tomorrow then."

Wales: "Alright, but before you go..."

Wales then suddenly got up close to David and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

Wales: "OK then, I'll see you tomorrow~"

Wales then went back to her dorm, leaving David who was blushing.

(David's point of view)

Did Wales just kiss me? he thought to himself. He then smiled and headed back to his room.
