Hey guys/girls. Sorry this chapter took a long time to make. I've been busy with exams lately. Anyway without further ado, here is chapter 8.

It was noon at the port and David was busy filling in the paperwork on his desk. He recently started working again after recovering from his injuries. While he was working, his secretary, Wales, then brought him a cup of coffee.

Wales: "Commander, why don't you take a break. You've been working nonstop since this morning." she said while placing the cup of coffee on his desk.

David: "Alright then. I guess I'll take a little break." he said while drinking the coffee.

While he was drinking his coffee, he looked out the window and admired the view of the sea. Then he got an idea.

David: "Hey Wales, why don't we get something to eat after I finish these documents?"

Wales: "Sure. I'm starting to get hungry too."

David: "Alright then, just let me finish this last document."

After finishing the last document, Wales and David went to the canteen to get lunch. When they got to the canteen, they met Alex and his secretary ship Yorktown.

Alex: "Hey David, what are you doing here?"

David: "To get some lunch with Wales."

Alex: " Oh, going on a date are we?" he said teasingly.

Both David and Wales then blushed.

David: "No we're not!"

Alex: "Then why are your faces red?"

David: "No reason! Come on Wales." he said while still being embarrassed.

David and Wales then went inside the canteen and ordered some food. When they were looking for a place to sit down, David saw his other shipgirls and they went to sit down with them.

David: "Hey girls, mine if we join you?"

Enterprise: "Oh, commander. Sure.

They then sat down and started to eat.

Enterprise: "So commander, are you feeling better?"

David: "Yes, I am. Still a little sore though."

Enterprise: "Oh, OK. Are there any new missions for us?"

David: "Not at the moment, but I'll inform you girls if there are new missions."

Just then the door to the canteen was kicked open.

Paul: "Anyone here named David?!"

The whole canteen fell silent. Then David stood up.

David: "Who's asking?"

Paul: "There you are you little shit. Let's settle this once and for all with an exercise battle. If I win, then you'll have to leave this base."

David: "Fine, but if I win, your the one who's gonna leave."

Paul: "Fine. It's not like I'm gonna lose!

David:" We'll see about that."

They then went to the training grounds to do the battle.

Paul: "This is a one on one battle. Pick your strongest shipgirl and let's get this over with."

David: "Alright then. Wales, you ready?"

Wales: "Yes sir."

Paul: "Seriously? You picked her?! What can that useless ship do?"

David: "You'll see."

Paul: "Fine. I'll use my Akagi. You ready?"

Akagi: "Yes sir."

Paul: "Alright Akagi, crush that fool and his ship."

Akagi: "With pleasure~"

(David's point of view)
Wales has relatively low anti-air stats, so I'll have to finish this quickly he thought to himself.

David: "Alright Wales, show them the power of your main guns! Fire!"

Wales then fired a volley of artillery shells at Akagi. It hit and Akagi took a lot of damage, but the fight wasn't over yet. Akagi threw out her cutout planes which turned into real planes. She first launched her fighters which damaged Wales.

David: "Wales, are you alright?!"

Wales: "I'm fine."

Akagi: "Not for long."

Akagi then launched her torpedo bombers. Wales managed to dodge some of the torpedoes, but one of them managed to hit her. She took a lot of damage.

Paul: "Alright, finish her of Akagi!"

David: "It's not over yet. Wales, fire!

Wales then fired her main guns again and all of the shells hit. Akagi took significant damage, but just before she was knocked out, she launched her bombers. Wales managed to take out some of them, but the last one dropped its bomb and created a huge explosion.

David: "Wales!"

There was smoke everywhere. When the smoke was gone, they saw Wales still standing and Akagi was knocked out.

Paul: "No!! How can this be happening?!"

David: "Wales, are you alright?

Wales: "Yes, I'm fine."

David: "Thank goodness. Alright, Paul, I won. So now it's time for you to leave."

Paul: "Fat chance! I know you cheated in some way. My Akagi never lost a battle!

When Akagi came to, Paul started yelling at her.

Paul:" I can't believe you lost, you useless ship!"

David: "Hey! It's not her fault. You're the one who wanted to battle."

Paul: "Whatever!"

He just about to hit Akagi, when someone grabbed his arm. It was the admiral.

David: "Admiral, what are you doing here?"

Admiral: "To take care of some unfinished business. Commander Paul, you are hereby relieved of your duty as a commander."

Paul: "Why?!"

Admiral: "I will not tolerate the mistreatment of shipgirls by their commander. You can start packing your bags and leave as soon as possible.

Paul:" Fine! Screw this!"

Paul then left the training grounds angrily.

Admiral: "David, congratulations on winning. I've been wanting to get rid of him for some time now when I heard that he treated his shipgirls badly."

David: "Thank you, sir. Uh, sir, may I ask, what will happen to Paul's fleet?"

Admiral: "They will be assigned to new commanders where hopefully they will take better care of them, unlike how  Paul did."

Suddenly, Akagi went up to the admiral and asked him a question.

Akagi: "Sir, may I ask that you enlist me into commander David's fleet?"

Admiral: "Sure, if commander David wants to."

David: "Sure. I'll take good care of her."

Akagi then went up to David.

Akagi: "Hello there commander David. I'll be in your care from now on." she said with a creepy smile.

David: "Hello Akagi. Nice to have you with us."

After that, David and Wales went back to the office. While on their way there, Wales was busy thinking to herself.

(Wales point of view)
Why did Akagi have a weird smile on her face? Does she like David? Wait, what am I saying she thought to herself.

David: "Wales? Wales?"

Wales: "Uhh, yes sorry. You were saying?"

David: "Are you alright? You've been blanking out after that fight."

Wales: "Yes, I'm fine. Thank you for asking."

David: "OK then."

They then went inside the office to continue their work.

(In Akagi's dorm)

Kaga: "Sister, I heard that your commander left the base, is that true?"

Akagi: "Yes, it is, but I don't care. I found a new commander to be with."

Kaga: "Oh, who is he?"

Akagi: "Commander David. I will make him mine ahahaha~"

(Back at the office)

David: "Huh, weird."

Wales: "What is it?"

David: "I just felt a chill go down my back."

David then looked outside the window.
Maybe someone's talking weird stuff about me? Nah, that can't be true he thought to himself and continued his work.
