It was noon at the port and David was in his office working on some documents. Suddenly, Wales entered the room and she brought a bunch of letters with her.

David: "Hey Wales. Did you deliver the files to the Admiral?"

Wales: "Yes and I also have some letters for you. It's from the other shipgirls at the base."

David: "Really?"

David then opened one of the letters and he began to read it.

Wales: "So, what's the letter about?"

David: "It's a love letter."

Wales: "A love letter?!"

David: "Yeah. Wait! That reminds me, I have to go run an errand. So Wales, could you look after the office while I'm gone?"

Wales: "Uh, yeah sure."

David: "Thanks Wales. I promise it won't be long."

David then left the room, leaving Wales alone. Wales then decided to look at the letters that David got. She searched through the pile of letters and then she saw a letter that was sent by Akagi. At first, she didn't want to open it, but curiosity got the best of her and she opened it. She then began to read the letter.

"Dear commander,

I'm so happy that you chose me over Wales! I knew that she wasn't right for you. You don't know how happy that makes me feel. I hope we can become closer in the future.

Your lover,
Akagi.

Wales was shocked. She didn't know how to react. Not knowing what to do, she ran outside to ask David if it was true.

(Wales point of view)

Did David really say yes to Akagi? No! No! It can't be true. I need to find him and ask him if this is true! Wales thought to herself as she was trying to find David.

She then saw David at the docks. She tried to get closer, but she then saw that someone was hugging him. It was Akagi. She was shocked. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. Before getting noticed by them, she ran away with tears in her eyes.

(Wales point of view)

Why?! Why David?! Why? I thought you liked me. I thought you were the one I was looking for. she thought to herself as she ran to her room.

A few hours later...

When David got back to his office, he saw that the room was empty. He wondered where did Wales go. Suddenly, the door opened. He turned around to see Wales.

David:" Hey Wales. Where have you been?"

Wales: "Nowhere."

David: "Oh, OK then. About tomorrow-"

Wales: "David listen. I don't think I can be your secretary anymore."

David was dumbfounded. He couldn't believe what he was hearing.

David: "Why?!"

Wales: "I just can't alright. I also need some time alone, so please don't try and call me."

David: "But-"

Wales: "Goodbye."

Wales then left the room, leaving David alone.

(David's point of view)

Why did she say that?! Why did she stop being my secretary? Did I do something wrong? David thought to himself.

Over the next few days, Wales avoided David at all costs. Since Wales didn't want to be David's secretary anymore, Enterprise decided to fill in her position. Even though David had lots of work to do, he couldn't concentrate on any of them. He didn't care if he finished his work or not. This made his friends and his other shipgirls worried.

In David's office...

Enterprise: "Commander, here are the files from HQ."

David: "Yeah..."

Enterprise: "C'mon commander. You have to finish your work or the people at HQ will fire you."

David: "I don't care anymore..."

Enterprise: "Commander..."

David: "I'm gonna go take a walk for a while."

Enterprise: "Fine, but at least do some work before you go."

David: "Fine..."

After finishing some paperwork, David went out of his office to take a walk. Just as he was about to walk outside of the building, he saw Alex and Harry. They both then went up to David.

Alex: "Hey David. You feeling alright?"

David: "Yeah..."

Harry: "Uhh, the Admiral said that you haven't been doing work recently, so we came to check up on you. Are you sure your alright?"

David: "Yeah, everything's fine..." he said in a sad way.

Alex: "Hey, wanna grab a bite to eat?"

David: "No thanks. I was planning to go on a walk. Plus, I'm not that hungry."

Alex: "Oh, alright then. Well, if you wanna talk, we'll be at our offices."

David then said goodbye and went to the park. There he sat down on a bench and admired his surroundings. It was quiet. Occasionally, couples would pass by. Looking at them, it reminded him of Wales.

(David's point of view)

Did I do something wrong to her? Did I hurt her feelings? Darn it! Girls are so hard to understand. he thought as he pulled out a box from his pocket.
I was planning on giving this to her, but I guess I can't do that now... he thought to himself.

What David didn't know was that someone was watching him from afar.

(Akagi's point of view)

The plan worked! I managed to get rid of Wales, now the commander is all mine. Akagi thought to herself.

Kaga: "Sister, what are you doing?" She said.

Akagi: "Kaga! Shh, keep it down. What are you doing here?"

Kaga: "You told me to keep an eye on the commander, so-"

Akagi: "Shh! He might hear you. Anyway, I'm gonna go talk to him. You stay right here."

Akagi then went to talk to David.

Akagi: "Hello commander~"

David: "Oh, hey Akagi..." he said while pulling down his hat.

Akagi: "Why are you sad?"

David: "It's nothing..."

Akagi: "I bet it's because of Wales. I knew that she wasn't good for you."

David: "Uhh, Akagi-"

Akagi: "She was nothing but trouble. I knew that one day she would show her true colors."

David: "OK Akagi, that's enough..."

Akagi:" She's nothing but a weak useless ship and-"

David: "Akagi, enough!" David yelled.

Akagi was shocked. Even after what she did, David still has feelings for Wales. Akagi then grabbed David's shirt.

Akagi: "Can't you see that I love you commander?! Just forget her and be with me. I'm much better than her. I even made her feel jealous just so that I can be with you. I did it all for you. So why?! Why won't you love me?!"

David: "Akagi... I'm sorry..."

Akagi: "Why?! Why do you love her so much?" she said with tears in her eyes.

David: "To be honest, I don't know either, but ever since I met her, I began to feel emotions I've never felt before. Every time she's happy, I feel happy. Every time she feels sad, I feel sad. I don't know how to put it into words, but, I think it's because I love her. So that's why I can't love you. I'm sorry. Truly I am. I'm moved that you would do this for me, but there's nothing I can do about my feelings."

Akagi then hugged David while still crying. From afar, Kaga was about to launch one of her planes towards the commander, when she received a distress signal. She then quickly ran towards the two.

Kaga: "Sister, commander, I hate to break up this moment, but I just received a distress signal. The base is under attack by Sirens."
