After escaping from the Sirens, Ethan and the others returned to base. On the way there, Ethan passed out due to a lack of energy. Since he was captured, he hasn't eaten anything or got any sleep in the oast few days. After arriving at base, Takao and the others brought him to the sickbay.

At the sickbay...

Takao: "Vestal! Commander's passed out. Can you help him?"

Vestal: "Of course. Lay him down here." she said as she gestured to one of the empty beds.

Takao quickly layed Ethan on the bed. After doing so, Vestal started to examine his body for injuries.

Vestal: "Oh dear, his body is covered in burn marks! What exactly happened there?"

Takao: "On our way back, commander told us that when he was being held captive, he was subdued to all kinds of experiments and to keep him awake, he was electrocuted."

Vestal: "Poor thing. I'll make sure he gets better."

Suddenly the doors flew open Enterprise came into the room soon followed by Edward.

Enterprise: "Commander!"

Enterprise quickly ran to his side.

Enterprise: "What happened to him?"

Takao: "When we were heading back, he suddenly passed out so we brought him here."

Enterprise: "I see... Is he going to be alright?" she asked Vestal with a worried look.

Vestal: "Don't worry Enterprise. I'll do my best to make sure he recovers." reassuring her.

Edward: "Okay. Well, let's give him time to rest."

They then left the sickbay so that Vestal could start treating Ethan.

A few days later...

A few days have passed and Ethan was still not waking up. Both Edward and Enterprise were starting to worry when all of a sudden, Vestal called them to the sickbay.

Edward: "Why is Vestal calling for us? She sounded really worried."

Enterprise: "I don't know. Let's just get there quickly."

They soon arrived at the sickbay and saw Vestal waiting outside for them.

Edward: "Vestal, what happened? Did Ethan wake up?"

Vestal: "No he hasn't, but there's something I'd like to show you."

They then entered the room and saw Ethan still asleep and lying on the bed.

Edward: "What did you want to talk about?" he asked her.

Vestal: "Well, I was scanning commander's body with this machine to see if he had any internal injuries but when I tried to scan him, the machine started to malfunction. I decided to stop the machine but as I was turning it off, I saw what looked like a wisdom cube inside his body."

Enterprise: "Wait, that doesn't make sense. Commander is human. Why would he have a wisdom cube in him?"

Edward: "Maybe it was placed there by someone. He did say that he was experimented on. Maybe that was the experiment."

As they were talking, Enterprise noticed that Ethan was starting to wake up and quickly ran to his side.

Enterprise: "Ethan?"

Ethan slowly opened his eyes and the first thing he saw was Enterprise.

Ethan: "Enter...prise?"

He slowly reached out his hand to wipe away tears that were forming in her eyes.

Edward: "Ethan, are you alright?"

Ethan: "Yeah..." he said as he tried to sot on his bed.

Edward: "Well, I'd like to ask you a few questions. Is that alright?" he said as he sat down on a chair next to the bed.

Ethan: "Yeah, sure."

Edward: "What exactly did they do to you back there? If you don't want to talk about it, it's fine. I'm just curious."

Ethan: "Well, there was one that I remembered. When I was there, the first thing they did was put me to sleep. Then I was woken up by being electrocuted. Then, they injected me with a weird type of energy on an hourly basis. The pain from it was so intense I thought I might have blacked out but was woken again by the electricity."

Enterprise: "That sounds horrible."

Ethan: "It was."

Edward: "Okay well, if you'd like to rest for a few more days, I could still do your jobs."

Ethan: "No, it's alright. I'll start working tomorrow."

Edward: "Alright then. I'll be taking my leave. I still have more paperwork to do. I can't believe you go through that every day."

Ethan: "Just another day at the office I guess."

Edward: "Alright. See ya."

Edward then left the room.

Ethan: "So Vestal, when can I be discharged?"

Vestal: "Maybe this evening."

Ethan: "Okay then. What will you be doing Enterprise?"

Enterprise: "Why don't I stay here with you until you get discharged."

Ethan: "Sure, if you want."

Vestal then left the two so they could get some alone time.

Vestal: "I see you've found someone you like, Enterprise." she said to herself as she watched the two from a distance.

In the evening...

Ethan was already discharged and Enterprise and he were walking to the office. On their way there, Enterprise told him of what she the others saw that afternoon and hearing it didn't really shock him.

Enterprise: "Ehh? You're not surprised at all?"

Ethan: "I figured it was something like that. When I was held captive, I was able to override the systems there, so it really isn't shocking."

Enterprise: "That means you knew that there was something in you giving you powers."

Ethan: "Yeah, I guess. It would be cool if I could manifest some type of rigging like you don't you think?"

Enterprise: "It would I guess."

They then reached the office. When they opened the door, they saw Edward sleeping on the couch while Belfast was giving him a lap pillow treatment while gently stroking his hair.

Ethan: "Ahem."

Edward: "Waa? Ahh Ethan, what are you doing here?" he said as he got up.

Ethan: "Just checking up on you. I'm sorry I interrupted your 'alone time'." he said teasingly.

Edward: "I-it's not what you think."

Ethan: "So, we'll be taking our leave. You can continue what you were doing just now."

Edward: "Ethan!"

Ethan and Enterprise then left the room, both of them letting out a little laugh.

Enterprise: "Who knew commander Edward was like that."

Ethan: "He's just full of surprises. Anyway, it's getting late. We have a big day tomorrow."

Enterprise: "We do. Well then, good night commander."

Ethan: "Good night to you too."

The two then went back to their owm rooms.
