*USS Nimitz - Waters around Zenith

*Evan/My POV

"I believe you remember this room." I said as I opened the door to the control room and stepped inside. 

"Of course." Elincia commented and entered. The Control Room didn't change much since the last time I was in here. Then again, it's only a few minutes. Elincia walked towards the small extension of the Control Room with the map table.

"Is this a map of the entire continent we're on currently?" Elincia asked. I turned around and saw that she's looking at the map table.

"Yes. I need maps like that to coordinate my task force carefully. As the ship we're on currently is my flagship, this is where I do all that." I explained. Elincia nodded and examined the map filled with markings and sketches.

"You did all of these markings Lord Evan?" Elincia asked me and I nodded.

"Pretty much." I replied.

"I'm impressed." Elincia commented.

"Heh. Thanks." I chuckled and thanked her.

The two of us sat around in the Control Room, talking about all sorts of things.

"I see. So the naval battles back in your world doesn't just take place on the ocean." Elincia confirmed with me.

"Yes." I replied. "Back in my world, naval battles also takes place in the skies as you already know by now and underwater." I explained.

"Underwater?!" Elincia was surprised.

"Yes. You heard me correctly. Underwater." I confirmed.

"There are ships that go underwater back in your world Lord Evan?" Elincia asked, becoming interested.

"Yep. But we call them submarines." I replied. "Submarines mainly attack ships but they can also attack other submarines." I explained. Elincia was speechless once she learnt about the submarines and the damages that they can deal.

"Have you ever been into one of them?" Elincia asked.

"Yes. I did have a few submarines back in my base and to be honest, I do not like being inside a submarine." I replied. "When a submarine sinks, it most likely has been submerged, already underwater. If the submarine is submerged when it sank, the crew cannot just leave the submarine easily. They have to find the emergency exit and swim out from there. However, there is no guarantee that all of the crew will survive. Some of them will drown, some of them will be eaten by sharks etc." I explained. "That's why once I went inside a submarine, I really want to get out." I said.

"I see." Elincia understood.

"Yep. You won't know what will happen to you once you are on board a submarine." I replied

"Wait. You mentioned that a submarine can be sunk. Is there any way to deal with these... ships?" Elincia asked.

"Yes. The most common way is to use depth charges but there are other ways like using anti submarine mortars which we call them 'Hedgehogs'." I explained. "However, when a submarine is surfaced, on the surface of the water/visible. We can use the artillery guns of our ships." I added in.

"Then if the submarine, I believe is what you call them is under the water. Then does that mean you can't see them anymore?" Elincia asked.

"One word. Sonar." I replied. "To the naked eye. No. But with special equipment. Yes." I explained.

"Commander. We will be arriving in Askr shortly." Howe informed me through the radio.

"Looks like we're arriving in Askr soon." I told Elincia after hearing Howe's announcement.

"I agree Lord Evan." Elincia agreed with me.
