It was contagious. The love music playing on the speakers in the mall, the pink and red theme decorated everywhere, the couples who held hands as they went shopping... Seb found himself getting into the vibe of Valentine's Day rather quickly.

Some might hate the lovey-dovey, mushy feeling of Valentine's Day, but Seb was lucky enough to not be one of those single, jealous people, and have an amazing girlfriend whom he loved very much. Which, reminded him why he was here- to buy a Valentine's Day gift for Aria.

To be honest, he could've just used his notebook and written down his ideas for gifts. They would have appeared right in front of him, free of charge. 'But who likes a boyfriend who doesn't spend money on them?' thought Seb.

Seb, to be honest, was quite nervous. Although he knew Aria didn't mind, he still remembered the last Valentine's Day- disastrous.

But they didn't talk about that.

And this time, he was determined to make it a perfect Valentine's Day for both of them.

And so a few friends came along. The first one was John, who wanted to buy something for his boyfriend as well. Cherry came along too, who claimed that she could help Seb choose the ultimate gift for Aria ( apparently because she was a girl and knew what girls liked- and hated) . And lastly, Nab, who was aroace but wanted to tag along. However, it seemed like she was regretting that choice- she kept frowning at the couples who they passed.

"So, I'm thinking- chocolate. Aria likes chocolate," Seb said. Cherry replied,"Okay, good idea! But you're going to need more." "I'm aroace, but even I think that's too unoriginal," Nab added,"You won't be able to charm your girl with a box of chocolates."

"I'll think of something, don't worry." Seb waved it off.

A few minutes later, Seb was officially stuck. There were so many chocolates to choose from, and though the easy choice would have been to buy the most expensive kind, Seb wanted to choose something heartfelt, that meant something. But chocolates were chocolates- it was hard to find something meaningful.

"Seb, just choose one. There are SO many, just, like, I don't know, this one looks nice." Nab said, handing him a heart-shaped box of hazelnut chocolates. "She's allergic to hazelnuts," informed Seb, pushing it back into Nab's hands.

"If you want something meaningful, maybe make the chocolates yourself." John suggested, helping to put the box of chocolate back on a higher shelf. "Um... no." Seb said awkwardly,"I don't cook."

"You could try cooking," said Cherry.

Seb shuddered at the thought- what if it ended up being just as ( or even more ) disastrous than the past Valentine's Day? Nab snickered at his reaction, saying,"You could just draw a recipe and the ingredients! That means more than just buying a box of chocolates."

Seb thought about it. "Alright, we'll try when we get back home."

"I'm looking forward to those chocolates," giggled Cherry.

Unbeknownst to the friends, John had gone off and bought a tub of ice-cream. He came back. "Self love is still love," He declared when asked why,"And besides, EVERYONE loves ice-cream. It's a crime if you don't."

__

Other than the chocolates, Seb decided to buy Aria a small lamp with the words 'LOVE' engraved on it, and of course, a bouquet of red roses. As he chose a simple, neat bouquet, he noticed someone.

"Oh no," whispered Seb as he frantically pulled Nab behind a round pillar,"It's Aria." Nab peeked out from behind the pillar and replied,"Oh. I think she's choosing some flowers." "Of course," Seb said anxiously,"Why is she here?"

Just then, Cherry came dashing towards them, panting as she said,"Aria's here! Looks like she's buying flowers for you too-" Nab shushed her, peeking out again,"She can't see you, the surprise will be ruined!" "Lucky I'm so small, we can all hide behind this pillar," said Seb, partially joking.

Suddenly, Aria came walking in their direction, aiming for the shelf right opposite the pillar. "Ah!" Cherry panicked and pushed them away, forgetting that Seb could have just turned himself invisible, sending all of them tripping over some flowerpots and crashing onto the floor.

That certainly caught Aria's attention. Not only hers, but the store owner too ( and everyone else ). He angrily yelled,"What the heck?!" Cherry sat up awkwardly, looking around. Nab nudged Seb, hidden beneath them and the mess they made. "Sorry, we- we tripped," Nab said as she shoved Seb, harder this time. Using the commotion as a distraction, Seb wriggled out from beneath the pile of bodies, turning invisible. He stood to a side, apologetically looking at Cherry and Nab.

Luckily, Aria didn't see him.

The store owner was arguing with Nab and Cherry, kicking them out of the shop. Seb followed them, but not before nicking a bouquet and leaving some money on the shelf. "You owe me one, Seb," said Nab as she brushed petals off her clothes. Seb could tell she meant it lightheartedly, however. Still invisible, Seb replied,"Thanks for that, Cherry, Nab, really. Although I could've managed-"

"One tends to forget about your superpowers when your relationship is at risk." argued Cherry. Seb pulled out his notebook and wrote down a few things. The shop fixed itself slowly by slowly, as to not alert the shop owner. "Right." Seb was about to turn himself visible when Aria ran out of the shop towards them.

"Cherry! Nab! What are you guys doing here?" asked Aria. "Uhm- you know, buying some flowers for- for ... Valentine's Day!" Cherry stuttered. It was technically true. "Ooh~ for who?" Aria teased. "Unfortunately, I'm still single," Cherry sighed dramatically. "Sucks to be you, I guess," replied Aria lightheartedly.

"And what about you?" Nab questioned,"Why are you buying flowers?" "Obviously for Seb!" Aria said. Seb blushed, invisible. "Anyway, you two wanna come along? We could go over gift choices together!" Aria said excitedly. "Uhm-" Nab glanced in Seb's general direction, conflicted. "Sure!" Cherry agreed for them.

As Nab and Cherry walked away, Cherry turned back and winked. Seb understood- they'd lead Aria away from him so he could plan his Valentine's Day without Aria seeing. He smiled.

Just then, John appeared from around the street corner. "Seb! Where's Cherry and Nab?" "Come on, man," Seb replied as he wrote on his notebook for them to be at his house immediately," We have to make some chocolate before Aria comes home."

"Wait- the recipe says to add at least half the cup of cocoa powder." John interjected as he instructed Seb on how to make homemade chocolates. "That's too much!" John hurriedly yelled. "Okay-!" Seb yelped before putting the cup of cocoa powder back on the table. He let out a breath.

Seb observed the bowl full of ingredients, then asked,"What's next?" "Um, we have to pour it into the sugar syrup," replied John. Seb did as instructed, saying,"I'm assuming we mix?" "Yep!" answered John. Seb jumped off his stool, retrieving a wooden spoon from the kitchen island, before climbing back onto the tall stool.

He mixed it until it turned into a glossy, thick batter, which smelled of chocolate when he leaned close. John helped pour it onto a pan, while Seb wrote in his notebook 'cookie cutter'. Immediately, different pairs of cookie cutters appeared.

"I'm going to choose the heart shaped ones for my boyfriend,"said John happily. Seb chose some round ones first, just to experiment first. He made three round ones, before switching to star and heart shaped ones. After half an hour of chocolate-cutting, they put it in the freezer.

"Phew! Hopefully they turn out yummy!" John exclaimed. "We'll know after 15 minutes." Seb replied, just as excited. He hoped this would go well too. John settled down on a beanbag ( which was a little small for him ) and relaxed. "And hopefully both our partners like our gifts."

Seb thought about Aria's gift. What would it be? He didn't know what it was, but he was sure that he would love it nevertheless. He just hoped Aria would like his presents too.

15 minutes later, the chocolates were done. John and Seb put the chocolates into two separate boxes they bought especially for putting chocolates, and arranged them into a heart pattern. John dramatically sprinkled some dyed icing sugar around the chocolates. "Now it's done!" said Seb proudly.

"I'll head over to my boyfriend's house now," John said,"Good luck, Seb!" Then he left.

Now it was Seb, all alone in his house, his foot nervously tapping on the ground because he didn't know how this would turn out. To calm himself down, he whipped out his notebook and wrote 'decorations'.

Seb spent the next thirty minutes or so decorating the house. It was somewhat of a struggle because he was so short, but somehow he managed to hang the string of decorations above the window. Then he wrapped his gifts in a cute, patterned wrapping paper.

And then he was done. There was nothing more to do, so he sat down on his beanbag and tried to relax. "It's all going to go well," he reassured himself,"It's nothing like last time."

'DING-DONG!'

Seb took a sharp breath. The doorbell.

__

"Hey," He smiled, his mood immediately lifting when he saw Aria,"Welcome home." Aria smiled back and hugged him ( basically lifting him off the floor ). "Woah, you... decorated the living room!" She exclaimed. "Do you like it?" He asked, a little anxiously.

"Yes! Of course!" Aria replied happily, giving Seb a small kiss on the cheek. Seb turned red, as Cherry, who was standing in the doorway ( you third-wheel /j ), stifled a laugh. Nab quickly dragged Cherry away, to escape the scene and also to give them some privacy.

"Here, I bought you some Valentine's Day gifts." Seb led Aria over to the table, where his gifts were laid out. "Oh, me too!" Aria replied with a small laugh, pulling a small bouquet of assorted flowers and a wrapped box. She handed it to Seb. Seb, in return, gave Aria the gifts.

"We'll open them together, okay?" They ripped the wrapping paper away. Seb looked at his gift- a cute plushie and a small note from Aria, which read: 'Love you forever'. He smiled from ear to ear, unable to hide his happiness. Then he focused on Aria, who was opening her gift.

Seb watched as her face lit up as she saw the chocolates. "I made them myself," Seb said,"Hopefully they taste okay." Aria smiled brighter, a smile that made Seb's heart beat faster. She got one chocolate and ate it slowly. "It tastes delicious!" Aria laughed,"Thanks for making me this! You're awesome, Seb."

Seb smiled and hugged her,"Of course. I wanted to make this the perfect Valentine's Day."

"Well, it certainly is," Aria replied.

"Happy Valentine's Day, Seb."
