Chapter 21- Ayanika saves the day and a new position

Ayanika comes in holding the prasad of the Yagya with Das and Dasis holdoing rest of the prasad in plate. She looks at Amar and a smile comes on her face looking at Devsena, Akanksh signals Jagat to stand at a side and not say anything.

Ayanika- (comes near Amar)Arrey, Amar Bhaiya when did you come? (looking Devsena) Pranaam Devsena and welcome to Mahishmati.

Bijjaladeva- Why are you welcoming this cunning women?

Ayanika- (looks genuinely confused) What did she do Tatshree?

Bijjaladeva- How would you know, you are blind in your brother's love just like your mother Sivagammi was once.

Ayanika- (Sighs) ok tell me about it in sometime, (comes near Sivagammi who is trying to smile but still is angry) Ma, please have this prasad. This prasad specially the Panditji gave me to give to you as it contains Ma Adi-Shakti's blessings, it will help in cooling you down. Please have it.

Sivagammi smiles and takes prasad plate from her hands. Ayanika gestures the Das and Dasis to give everyone the prasad. She eats it and slowly her anger cools down. She sits on her seat. Looking at her cooling down, Ayanika concentrates her attention to the advisor.

Ayanika- Please tell me what happened over with every detail even what Tatshree said to Ma.

The Advisor says everything. Ayanika listens to everything carefully and smiles. She looks at Sivagammi.

Ayanika- Ma, Please give me permission to question Kattapa mama.

Sivagammi- (understandting the intension) You are allowed.

Ayanika- (goes near Kattapa) Yes, so Kattapa mama, why were you and Amar staying in Kuntal Kingdom for so long. Say everything truthfully.

Kattapa- As, Bahubali had fallen in love with Devsena and he wanted to win her heart as commoner not as a royal king.

Bijjaladeva- How is that related to this Ayanika?

Ayanika- Wait for sometime Tatshree you will get answer to your question soon. (looks at Kattapa) ok, now my next question, you said you heard the proposal sent by Ma to Kuntal. How did you mistake the proposal to be for Bahu bhaiya and not for Bhalla Bhaiya?

Bijjaladeva- why are you asking this?

Ayanika- (sighs) please Tatshree, can I finish my questioning then I will answer your questions.

Bijjaladeva huffs, and Ayanika gestures Kattapa to continue.

Kattapa- I was standing really far and he sword was not visible clearly as it was hidden in a cloth. Also, in the proposal, Bhalladeva's name wasn't mentioned therefore I thought the marriage proposal was for Bahubali.

Ayanika- Thank you for your answers. Now, Ma this clearly shows there was a misunderstand. Now coming to the vows. Let's talk about the vow which you gave to Bhalla Bhaiya. You gave the vow that you will wed him to Devsena. I guess you and Bhalla Bhaiya did not have any idea about Amar Bhaiya's love for Devsena. So, he asked you to give a vow and you gave it. But did you ever stop to think at this vow is going against dharam or not?

Sivagammi gives no answer. She goes into deep thinking.

Ayanika- Ma and everyone present in the court, knows that how much respect is given to women in our Dharam. They are free to take their own decisions like men. Vows are also given equal importance. But there is a limit to which you can give a vow. The vow should not go against Dharam and support Adharam. All of you agree to it?

Everyone in the court shouts yes.

Bijjaladeva- That means you are telling your mother committed Adharam?

Ayanika- (looks at him in shock) When did I say that Tatshree?

Bijjaladeva- but you trying to say your mother's vow is wrong.

Ayanika- Tatshree, just like Bhagwan Shri Krishna said, the vow which is made on the grounds of Adharam, the vow which ties you down like chains, the vow which causes you losses more than gains, those should be broken. That is Dharam. And those who have not done it, they have repented. Just like Pitamah Bhishma, who saw his entire one fraction of lineage die, just because he did not break his bow to protect the honour of Darupadi. Or like illustrious king of Ayodhya, Raja Dashrath who was repenting the loss of Ram due to the 2 vows which he had given to his beloved wife, Kaikai. Now, coming to Ma's vow, Ma did you ever ask Devsena her opinion before giving the vow to Bhalla Bhaiya?

Sivagammi shakes her head in no.

Ayanika- (looking Bhalladeva) Bhalla Bhaiya did you ask Devsena's opinion before asking for the vow?

Bhalladeva- No, but...

Ayanika- (with a tinge of Anger) But what Bhalla Bhaiya? In the Dharam which Ma taught us, you know the importance of women's opinion right? How did you not send ask for it?

Bhallajust looks down at the ground, seething in anger.

Ayanika- Ma, the marriage proposal you sent to Kuntal, had a shadow of arrogance in it. It was demeaning to the Kuntal and Rajkumari Devsena, as eventhough they are a small kingdom and relay on Mahishmati for protection, they are self-sufficient and they have self-respect. (Getting a bit teary-eyed) In that proposal, it didn't sound as if a mother was asking for Devsena's hand in marriage for her son, but Rajmata of Mahishmati was asking.

Sivagammi slowly realizes her mistake.

Ayanika- (wiping the tears) Anyways, now coming to the vow of Amar bhaiya. It is totally with Dharam as our Dharam gives the rights to protect honor of women in situation. So, Amar Bhaiya is right in this case and Amar Bhaiya's vow is 10 rimes more greater then Rajmata's Vow.

Bijjaladeva- This is a disrespect to Sivagammi! You are not her biological child that's why you getting guts to say these things.

Ayanika- (raising her voice a bit) This is not disrespect to Ma, Tatshree. I am not disrespecting her at all. Tell me what would you have done when the same situation came in front of you, when you had the choice between throne and love?

Bijjaladeva- I would have respected my mother and gone for the throne.

Ayanika- What about your vow to protect your love?

Bijjaladeva- I, umm...

Ayanika- Yes. I know you would still do the same but for different reason. I would like to tell the entire court, this same situation was placed in front of women who loved the younger brother of the going to be King. The mother of the borhters, was a haughty queen who could bear the love of low-level girl and the prince. So, she ordered her to chose the elder brother. Instead of going against the decision, she chose to go with it sacrificing her love, and coming closer to her ambition of throne. But she repented later as she lost a loyal companion with whom she could have ruled the kingdom and but remembered for the ages to come. Ma, you are committing the same mistake as the haughty queen from this story, I plead you to not do it. (joins hand, looks at her pleadingly)

Bijjaladeva- But he did not follow his mother's order of bringing Devsena as prisoner.

Ayanika- (looks at him with a smile) He did, Tatshree. But the difference is you not able to notice it.

Bijjaldeva- (looks at her confused) What are you saying?

Ayanika- (smiles)Ma just said to make her a prisoner, right? (Bijjaladeva nods) She just forgot specify how to bring her. So Amar bhaiya used to magical chains of love and brought her here in front of Rajmata as Prisoner who tied by the magical chains of love. And one more thing, you said that Amar Bhaiya did respect Ma's sacrifice, but from where I see it, he did by not bringing Devsena over here in a disrespectful manner, but with respect. Which shows he followed all the teachings of Dharam as taught to him by Ma. (Looks at Sivagammi) Ma, now take your decision, when you have finally heard both the sides. I just want to remind you of the vow you gave to the Praja of Mahishmati, that you will make Amarendra Bahubali as the king of Mahishmati. And As you always say, Yeh mera Vachan hai aur mera vachan hi hai mera shasan.

After saying all these, Ayanika quietly stands next to Amar. After thinking for sometime, Sivagammi stands up from her seat.

Sivagammi- Thank you Ayanika for opening my eyes and showing how wrong I was. Thank you reminding me of the Vow which I gave to the Praja. So, in the upcoming VijayDashmi, at the same time, Amarendra Bahubali will be crowned as the King and Bhalladeva will be made as the Senapati. And also, there is new post will be added to Royal Court, named Nyaydish. The person in this post will look after the law and order of the Kingdom, and also solve the day to day injustice happening in the kingdom as the King will not be able to handle all of them. The person who is chosen for this post is, AYANIKA BAHUBALI!

Everyone gets shocked. Ayanika was just looking at Sivagammi with round eyes.

Sivagammi- And in upcoming two days, The wedding of Amarendra Bahubali and Devsena from Kuntal take place on a auspicious time. (Gesturing Devsena to come near her and clapping her hand to call the dasis to bring the pooja plate)

After doing her Aarti, thereby formally welcoming her, she gives her own set of Bangle to Devsena as a token of Marriage. Renuka comes near shocked Ayanika and side-hugs her. Akanksh and Jagat smile looking at the achievement accomplished by their wife and Daughter-in-law, respectively.
