Hiii just started writing this for fun, and to maybe practice and put myself out there, and people are reading it now 👊👊

thank you so much. Please don't be a dry reader, and no hate unless Harumi because I do it all the time and it is very valid. If you like her please tell me why because I have no idea why. If it is in crystallized then don't tell me because I'm just getting to it with my sister (forcing her to but 🤷‍♀️)

Adelaide Thomas' pov.

"Adelaide, we're back!" I hear Jay exclaim. I rush out of my room and shove both of them into a huge hug. It's not like I missed them too much, it's that I didn't want everyone to split up like a few weeks ago.

"Miffed uf vhat much?" Kai says, but is muffled my my embrace. "Alfo, I don't want to be any clofer to Jay. anymore, can we wrap this up?"

I release them from the hug and they both sigh with relief.

"Damn, you have a tight hug, Toothpick." Jay says as he rubs his side.

"Oh come on! Not everyone has to call me that!"

Kai raises a finger sassily and rests his other hand on his hip. "Uh-yes, they do!" I roll my eyes.

"Hey! We got a signal!" Lloyd exclaims from another part of the Bounty. Before we get there he snorts but then stares at the screen. I hear a quiet lullaby and frown.

"Hey Lloyd, whatcha listening to..?" I finally get to the other side of the bounty and my jaw drops. I get shoved closer to Lloyd in an attempt to make room, and the others mirror my expression. Cole is singing to a lullaby brashly in a horrible disguise. I grab my phone and hold it out to record, Cole is cooked when he comes back.

"Swim through the sea of night, little swimmer-" he does a few snaps and spins and I hold back a snort.

"Bahaha! What is Cole doing?" Jay asks with an amused expression as he watches the screen.

"I don't know, but please tell me you're recording this!"

I raise an eyebrow and look at hum from over my phone. "Noo, I'm holding this here because I wanted to take a selfie, the lighting from Cole's singing is just spectacular."

"Zane informed me that he has a plan to gain the sons of garmadon's trust." Cole dips the mic and spins a few times again. He moves his hips expertly and I can't help but feel envious. I can't dance, AT ALL.

"But for it to work, we must trust him..."

"Uh- no one answered my question..."

"Yes, kai, yes, I am recording." Jay says.

"And we're making copies, lots and lots of copies." We say in sync. We burst out laughing but turn back to the screen.

"Light up you little ol' bug of lightning! When you gotta glow you glimmer, glimmer-"

"BOOOO!" someone yells.

"Shit." I curse. The other gang members at the karaoke club join in.

"Now, Adelaide, swearing is a sign of weak verbal skills." Jay reminds me.

"Says the guy who curses every time you lose a game of uno."
"It's no fair, though! You always win!" Jay defends with a pout.

"How long is this song?" Cole asks desperately. I look over at Lloyd and he returns my worried glance.

"C'mon Cole." I murmur. Personally, I never liked a mission that all of us weren't on, if we get caught, we all go down together- that is how ninja work. I hated the feeling of helplessness from just sitting back and watching the other ninja risking their lives. When we were together a year ago me and Lloyd talked about it a lot about that feeling, the short meetings had felt therapeutic to me. I wish that I could go back a y-

"Hey! He's one of those ninja!" A gang member yells and I mentally cringe. Cole awkwardly stands back up from the ground. His face is barren of a disguise and he stands perfectly still while smiling at the crowd.

"Grab him!" Ultraviolet yells before the whole bar erupts in screams. I lean closer to the screen and see Cole swinging at thugs with the microphone in his hands.

"Help me Zane..! Buddy, where are you ?" Cole says in a panic. Zane grabs a chair and uses it to knock the black ninja down.

"Find this... Zane and grab him too." Zane says in an aggressive tone.

"WHAT? WHAT IS HE DOING?" I scream. I look at Lloyd for an answer but he continues staring at the screen as Cole gets dragged away.

"Why isn't Zane helping him?!" Jay asks.

"Zane has blocked all communication." Pixal informs us.

Nya turns to face the rest of the group with a desperate expression, "this is our only lead. We may never get a second chance."

"Zane told us to trust him."Lloyd says in a calming voice.

"Zane is letting this happen!"Jay argues.

Kai pushes forward, I read his expression, his eyes were glinting with anger and frustration. His jaw was set and his hands were curled into fists.

"I'm not waiting for the coach to put me in. I'm going."He rushes out the door. After a moment, I glance back and leave with only a nod.

"Pixal- watch over Rumi."

Everyone rushes out to get ready in a bunch of colours.

(Yes with a u, I am Canadian.)

"I can handle myself." Harumi huffs. I see a flash in her eye and my frown deepens. She had a brief look on her face that screamed 'you have no idea.' And I got the foreign urge to be scared of her. Jay nudges my shoulder and gives me a puzzled look. I give him a half-hearted thumbs up, and continue to get ready. Nya rushes up to the Jade Princess and begins to reassure her about knowing how she feels by growing up in a all-boys-gang as the little sister, and I try to reassure myself that the look in Harumi's eyes, was just my imagination.

The jets roar as we fly above the city on The Destiny's Bounty. We line up on the rail and prepare to jump.

"Ready ninja?"Lloyd asks us. We all reply with a silent nod. "Go!"

I reach behind me to get a rope. Muscle memory kicks in, and I do the drill smoothly. Grab the rope, and jump. Swing off onto a building, and land quietly. Jump to the next one with the momentum you still have, maybe add a cool flip, reach the next one and jump off the side.

One of the first drills Wu had taught me. Simple- for a ninja, of course.

I grab some ninja stars and disconnect a nearby ladder, and we use it to jump onto the next roof. After a few more roofs, we see them.

"THE NINJA'S GOT BACK UP! GET THE BOSSES OUT OF HERE!"

Aaaaand apparently they see us, too. Ultraviolet turns to the quiet red man and mutters something I can't hear, and he nods. The motorcycles turn on with a loud rumble and I see Cole on the back of the Purple Woman's bike.

We jump from the building just as they split, but manage to take a few out.

"Adelaide, would you mind rounding up the ones here ?" Lloyd says while kicking someone in the face. He doesn't take his eyes off me while catching the gang member's bike before it hit the ground, and lifting it to hit another's head. Thankfully, he wasn't dead.

"Come on!" I protest. A man strides towards me and cracks his knuckles. He is easily double my height and I roll my eyes at the easy victory ahead.

"Guys I-" I cut myself off with a groan as the rest of my team runs after an escaping red-guy.

"NO FUCKING WAY THEY LEFT ME HERE?!"I yell at the bigger dude. He shrugs and I groan again. He shifts into a fighting stance and so do I. He lunges at me but I dart around his bulky shape and kick his side. He grunts, but I back up and let him stand all the way up. He lunges for me again and I meet him head on. I shoot light at him, and sweep his legs from under him.

"A lil' help over here?" The man asks his five or-so gang members. They smile menacingly at me and join the tall guy. "You scared? You gonna call your ninja 'friends?'" I hear the air quotes in his voice and stiffen.

"They didn't leave me here to get hurt, or because they didn't like me, or because they didn't want me to come, it's because they didn't want to get in my way, and because they knew I could handle you, elemental master or not." I say in the most scary tone I can muster. I try to make my eyes look crazy and angry, like Harumi's TOTALLY WHERE NOT.

They back up and gulp. This is going to be fun.

Lloyd Garmadon's pov

"Hey, why did Adelaide stay back?" Jay asks casually as we chase after red-guy. I try to ignore the knowing look he sends to Nya

"Well, being honest I just didn't want her to get hurt." I say.

"How is putting her against a bunch of thugs not going to hurt her?" Kai asks.

"That wasn't the smartest way to protect her, I guess." My legs hurt from the running, but so does my head, Is she okay? Have I left her to be captured, or killed or tortured, or-

"OOOOOHHH~ LLOYD HAS A CRUUUSSSHHH~!" Jay sings.

"We've already broken up, dummie . Besides, I left her and she might hate me. She's out of my league, especially after I completely ignored her, and just left her to clean up and get hurt fighting bad guys all alone."

And maybe also because I killed her father...

"She's the master of light, and one hell of a fighter, last weekend she beat me and Cole in the ring at the same time, and she was taught with us by Master Wu." Kai argues. "She'll be fine."

I can't help but feel stressed for her, and just butterflies from thinking of her, and a warmth-

"Hello- we're chasing this guy, not gossiping about your crush, I love Adelaide but seriously, focus!" Nya interrupts my thoughts by zooming ahead of all of us.

"Hey- I could be right you know," Cole mutters to me with a warm expression.

"About?"

"About her not hating you. You should see how she looks at you."

There's no way I could focus now, after thinking about her or Harumi, I always got lost in my thoughts. I could never deserve her, or redeem myself, or bring myself to stop loving her, and her hair is so stupidly perfect and-

I need to stop and focus, she doesn't love me, but what does it matter; I love Harumi more. I scold myself internally, while dodging a pole I had almost banged into. I try to focus again, but my thoughts are consumed by stunning brunette that I could never deserve, but could never forget.

OKAY. I am sorry for the crappy chapter, and the sloppy ending for the chapter, I just wanted it to be clear that he likes her still. Im excited bc I am going camping this weekend and I need to hurry to get another chapter out, not that anyone's reading this (other than my one reader, lol!)

I'm going to try and post ever Sunday, giving me the whole week and one day of the weekend to write it. I try not to follow the show's dialogue exactly, as in not having Adelaide say anything, because I don't really like it when authors do that.

I kinda like the start of this (short) chapter.

Lol I know nobody reads these, I mostly skip them when reading if they are too long.
