Chapter 12👹
Hello there
I'm bored so here's this week's update! Don't question the thing with the title. Or it'll steal all your halloween candy. If you have any left.
Happy late halloween btw!
My phone's at 6% so let's get this show on the road! No. hate.
I kind of understand Harumi now, but still really hate her. I think I hate her because it shows how easy people lie to gullible people. And I am very gullible, so I guess it was sort of a wake up call that I can be tricked.
I'm never careful with these things, and I just kinda blindly 'You're nice you're my friend now I would trust you with my life' sorta thing.
Sorry, that was deep. Lol 🤠
Tw: probs forgetting to edit
No because that's what I'm doing right now!😍👊
Adelaide Thomas' pov
I turn towards the kitchen and pause, ducking back around the corner I almost turned.
"Pixal?" I hear Nya's voice ask "you ready?"
I thought they were in bed? What is Nya doing in the kitchen? Is this the project, because it is incredibly boring so far. We're not even in school, why do a project?
"Is she okay?" Jay pipes up. Who is he talking about? Harumi? What is the project??
"Shhh!" Kai says in a whisper. "You never know when that girl is around!"
"She's asleep." Jay argues.
"She can turn invisible and make illusions idiot!" Cole says in a muffled voice. "Doesn't help that she's a ninja." I hear a clank and a satisfied Mmmm-mmm.
So they're talking about me. Prepare to get your asses whooped in the morning if I hear one bad thing.
I hear Lloyd huff in frustration, "this close! She was about to tell me. I could've stopped worrying and she would have had help for once! I co-"
He gets cut off by a beep. "The scan is complete. Adelaide was crying prior to us barging into the bathroom. It seems like she had an anxiety attack mixed with a modified PTSD episode. It would be beneficial to her mental health if she reached out to a therapist, friend, loved one, or peruses cognitive processing therapy."
I roll my eyes. No way am I doing any of that, even if I knew what the processing therapy meant.
"At night or was she awake?" Nya asks. Worry flickers in her strong tone, before it returns to a rock-solid question.
"It seems the attacks began while she was asleep, but continued into consciousness."
"When was her heart rate the highest?" Kai says in an extremely worried tone.
"Adelaide and Lloyd had an unusual heart rate when-"
"Oookay! I think that's enough!" I peek around the corner, while invisible to see Lloyd trying to find a way to silence Pixal, with an incredible amount of red all over his face. Everyone is laughing and Cole urges Pixal to continue.
"When their proximity was 0.18288 meters their heart rates spiked by-"
"STOP STOP STOP PLEASE STOP!" Lloyd begs.
"But I find this quite amusing." She laughs.
"PLEASE PIXAL PLEASE PLEASE STOP!"
"SHHH!"
"Shut the fuck up! For ninja you guys are incredibly loud!" Nya shushes.
"I'll shut the fuck up if she shuts the fuck up!" Lloyd pouts.
"Everyone to bed right now. Goodnight." Nya orders in a mom-like fashion.
I hear shuffling and take that as my time to run to the cabin. My heart sinks as Kai sneakily passes me in the hallway. I throw my hands out and project an illusion of me in my bed as he opens the door. He turns around and gives Lloyd a thumbs up.
"She's still there. Told ya."
Lloyd frowns in concentration. "But I swear she was around a few seconds ago. I felt it."
Hellooo? I'm the elemental master of light? I can make an illusion?
As if they heard me, Nya speaks up. "Stick your hand through it." I rush to my bed and make my illusion wake up.
"What are you guys doing?" Her eyes, or my eyes? dart around to the ninjas frozen there. I move myself so I'm perfectly in sync with my clone, then drop the illusion."Is everything okay?"
"All good toothpick. Just late night case-study. Stuff like that. Ewww boring, right?" Cole says.
"Very. I'm glad we finished." Kai says with a content sigh.
"We're all fine, nothing going on, very boring. We're wore out! V-Very worn out from... Fixing the bounty..?" Lloyd says tensely, clearly not hearing Cole's excuse.
"Case study." It didn't take a superhuman to hear Kai mutter that to Lloyd.
"O-Oh! You guys were doing a case study..? I was er-shit- fixing the bounty, right Z-I mean Jay!" Lloyd nods vigorously and bumps Jay's shoulder.
"Yep!" He squeaks.
"Okay then. Goodnight." They really let those guys lie and expect me to not find out?
"Night!" Everyone says before climbing into their colour-coded beds.
I sigh, remembering the cereal I was going to get and roll onto my side, preparing for sleep.

I run across rooftops in the early morning. I look to my left and see a small green figure on top of a new-looking train. He crouches down and presses the comm in his suit ear.
"Where was Zane last seen?"
"Central station," I reply quickly, before doing a flip to the next roof.
I hear static again, but it stops when Jay talks. "But once they went underground Pixal lost the signal."
Where are you two? I think to myself.
"Have you been able to pick up the signal from Cole's intercom?" I ask, before flipping to the next building, and effectively interrupting a rooftop picnic date.
"Hey watch it!"
"Sorry!" I yell as I race to keep up with the train Lloyd's on.
"No, we haven't." Jay sighs.
"If they're taking Zane to their hideout, then Cole could be held captive there." Lloyd says and I hear an 'ooooohh.' From Jay.
"We can't lose Zane, then." I state the obvious.
"Correct. Er- I'm over central station now." Lloyd replies. I see him dive off of the train and I make my way down my building Adelaide Thomas style. No, not jumping or parkour, running and using the elevator, and make my way to the Bounty.
"Kai's uncharacteristically being quiet." I notice, walking over to him.
"Yeah, well you guys aren't leaving much space to talk in this conversation." He retorts sharply.
"No sign of Zane or Cole anywhere." Lloyd sighs, on the comm. "They could be anywhere by now."
I watch Jay look around the room forlornly, and Kai tense up, making fists.
"Do you mind, sis?" He yells down to Nya, who was banging and clanking with materials in another room. "We're trying to save Cole and Zane." He runs over to the basement hatch, and looks down. Nya huffs, I hear the exasperation in her voice from the bridge. "What do you think I'm doing? Zane won't last long undercover in a biker gang without a bike."
"..Oh," Kai replies
I perk up slightly. "Can I help? It is so boring up here!" Jay and Kai gasp, faking offence.
"Of course! It is officially girl hour! NO BOYS ALLOWED!" She bubbles brightly. "But grab a blow torch!"
Kai gestures to himself, to my left, and I stick out my tongue. "Girl hour!" I race to the tool box in Nya's compartment and grab a blue blow torch.
I climb down into the basement, and Nya smiles at me.
"I need your artistic advice. You're good at this stuff, should I make the engine a custom colour, or just keep it grey?"
I don't even take a second to consider, I just blurt out. "Custom! Pleeeease can I do it!"
She smiles, not unlike a mom smiles at her kids. "Of course."
"Harumi, can you pass me my paintbrushes, and maybe the blue spray paints?" I ask in a warm tone. Nya doesn't know about that fight, and she doesn't have to know.
Harumi hands me everything with a clearly fake smile on her pretty face.
"Here you go, Adelaide. I'm sorry if I mishandle anything, I have no idea how to-agh!" She screams as she presses down on the trigger head and sprays blue allover me. I watch Nya jump for Harumi, and ripping the can out of her hand.
( I DID MY RESEARCH ON SYMPTOMS AFTER BREATHING TOO MUCH SPRAY PAINT, SO IF IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE, IT'S CUZ I WAS LIKE 'WHAAT' TOO :D )
"Whooaa." I say, to nobody in particular. "I don't feel so good."
(Mr.Stark? I don't feel so good vibes here. Sorry, I'll stop interrupting.)
My vision swirls.
"That is too much spray paint, everybody out!" I hear Nya roar, but it sounds like I'm underwater.
"Adelaide has inhaled too much spray paint, the symptoms she may experience are drowsiness, headaches, becoming extremely confused, hallucinations, and lastly, they may fall into. a comatose."
"I don't feel so good." I repeat quietly . Sticking with the water metaphors, my vision swims, and my legs give out.
"Well that's not good." I say from the ground. I feel hands grab me, and pull me up the ladder. Everything gets slowly quieter, until I hear and see no more.
Sleep won't hurt, right?

So. That may seem as a disappointing chapter, only 1500 words, but I may publish another one TODAY!! I went to having 0 motivation today, to maybe I should write another one. It will probably be short, and if it doesn't get published today, it will get published on Monday or Tuesday.
See you soon!
